    Doing some spring cleaning. Sweep sweep*
    Working on my sweep picking. A technique I don't do often but I enjoy it when the time comes.
    This is a slightly modified version of a section from an @andyjamesguitar track called 'Aftermath' from his album 'Fury From Above'. Epic track, epic album from start to finish if you're after some heavy instrumental stuff.
    Here I wanted to share a brilliant sweep-picking passage that will help you take your technique to new heights. This lesson does come with a disclaimer, once you have got this passage down, it can become a little addictive and easy to overuse... be mindful.
    Key Words: Andy James, Rock Metal, Guitar, Lesson, How To, 5FDP, Five Finger Death Punch, Charvel, Yamaha, Blackstar

    Looks pretty hard to me!
    Edit, yeah that very first thing you just did is one of Synyster gates favorite things to do.

    Explained very well Cam. Indeed is does 'appear' to be easier to play than it sounds... but I still can't accomplish sweep picking, it's frustrating because I can't understand why, is it my timing, my left hand or am I just too impatient? I am an adequate guitarist, well versed in Classic Rock styles and I havw made an asserted effort and wasted literally weeks of practice days, but sweep picking remains my kryptonite

    Good stuff. By the by, I tried your mate Dan’s guitar picks. Excellent recommendation. I got the orange ones. You should do a quick video on those as it was difficult to choose. Cheers.

    The GG Charvel has to be one of the nicest axes out there, bar none

    • @gtrklem
      @gtrklem Місяць тому +1

      Actually looks like a prototype of the GG Charvel or something. The trem isn't the floyd style and theres no switch between the volume and tone knobs. Everything else checks out. Cool guitar nonetheless.

      @@dannyllerenatv8635 I actually think I would too. I have the roasted ash version of the GG and I love it, but I have another Charvel with a 510 that I feel has slightly better tuning stability and easier string changes.

    Hey Cameron, I’m a huge fan of your content. I’ve got a question regarding the high E and B string EVH Spanish fly lick. I just can’t seem to get the quick 3 picks on the high E right. I really struggle with starting with an up stroke in it. Do you have any tips for how you learned to play it so well? Cheers

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  26 днів тому +1

      Thank you! I don't really have a tip except for what the video said. I started slow at first so i could figure out what i was doing and then repeated until it was comfortable and controllable at the tempo I wanted.

      @@CameronCooper okay cool, I’m just gonna keep going at it and building up speed. Also one more quick question, what is a midrange price (6-$800) guitar that is great for capturing eddies tone? Been looking around for a while but I trust your word on it more than most.

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  24 дні тому +1

      Any Charvel, Jackson or EVH guitar will serve you well. The bulk of the tone comes down to the playing itself though. There's no fast track way of getting the sound.
