I think a potentially less depressing ending for KaibaCorp is that under Mokuba's leadership, it takes on a much more passive role, creating and funding branch companies and organizations. One of those could have been SOL Technologies, which would have started as an extension of the virtual reality and Duel Links development teams of KaibaCorp. Eventually, SOL Technologies breaks away from KaibaCorp and develops the Vrains system using the Duel Links system as a foundation.
I agree with this idea. Mokuba more than likely looked for partner companies or investors to further KC's innovations. Perhaps SOL Technologies bought the Duel Links system, innovating it into Link Vrains.

I’ll tell ya this too, Commander. I’ve been waitin for this! Man, we gotta chat about this stuff sometime, mate! Cheers!
I truly believe that all will be answered as the Duel Links storyline unfolds in the game. We now have so many characters across so many different generations who have shown interest and curiosity towards figuring out who Duel Links' creator is -- even in the Go Rush era, with Yuamu Ohdo in her unlock cutscene inquiring: "Someone must've put up a fortune to build this place... A HUGE fortune..." I personally can't wait for more cross-generational stuff to occur. We've already had tastes of it from the Paradox event, and Selena from ARC-V beating up Weevil, but I can't wait for characters like the VRAINS Cast, Yuamu Ohdo, Nail, Declan Akaba, and Quinton, who all have been especially inquisitive towards Duel Links' origins to finally meet up, and possibly have a confrontation with Kaiba. I truly believe that trying to figure out where VRAINS sits in the timeline is akin to figuring out where the Rush Duel shows fit into the timelines. You make good points as to how Mokuba wouldn't be a good CEO, but I feel like he'd still have fought tooth and nail to keep the Kaiba name alive in the business. Even if Duel Links was simply acquired by SOL tech, I feel like there would have been some mention of the purchase of Kaibacorp when going into depth on the history of LINK-VRAINS, yet there still is not. We've seen Akira Zaizen (one of the higher ups, and if I recall correctly, a former CEO of SOLtech) appear in cutscenes in Duel Links. He would most certainly have knowledge of the history of LINK-VRAINS, and yet, he seems to be completely clueless as to the origins of Duel Links as well. "Instead of finding answers, we only found more questions" -- Akira Zaizen, at the end of Ghost Gal's unlock event, where he specifically hires her to find out more about Duel Links, and where she, Playmaker, Soulburner, Varis, and Blue Angel all travel to the edge of Duel Links and see all of the different worlds from DM to SEVENS (notably not seeing DSOD world). It really does seem like we have no choice but to wait to see how Duel Links unfolds before us. What I love about the VR Demo (The Solid Vision Experiment) is that all of us are now a part of this story. We are all Subject 25, and Kaiba has chosen us because we all have memories of the pharaoh that he can use to bring him back to life inside of Duel Links. It's an interesting theory, though, and if it weren't for all of the mysteries that still have yet to be solved, it would be a story that I'd (somewhat reluctantly, for how sad it is) believe. As for the ending of DSOD, I really don't think that Atem would allow Kaiba to just waste away to nothing in the afterlife, and being a literal God King, would likely have some means of saving Kaiba's life.
I feel like Akira is very likely gonna be the next character added into the Vrains world. unless they add the 3 other high ranking Hanoi first. I could see either appearing next based on the last event.
I think we could still make the connection work even in the anime continuity. Kaiba was working on immersive VR there too, and that version already had brain uploading capabilities. Also, Speed Duel Skills are like a refinement of Deck Master Abilities.
...to the point where we even have a couple of Speed Duel Skills for Duke and Tristan that literally are the Cyber Commander and Strike Ninja Deck Master abilities!
I can see this being what happened. My personal headcanon is that Vrains was the world that was left after Zarc was defeated. The summoning methods created whole new worlds, but the original was this post-apocalyptic wasteland that needed to be rebuilt. They didn't have the old extra deck methods, but like in another theory that you made, they did have ritual summoning. So they took that and refined it until they could scrape a little of the old power back into their world. Greatly nerfed, but just enough to recapture the old glory.
The most hilarious thing about Kaiba and the technological advancements he brings about is that Dark Side of Dimensions canonically takes place in the year 1997, as crazy as that sounds. The original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and anime were stated to take place in 1995, and DSOD is set two years later, making it 1997. People were still using floppy disks and VHS tapes in 1997, yet here Kaiba is, creating portable neuro-linked Augmented Reality technology just to play card games against his rival.
I believe Kaiba's newest Duel Disk after the events of DSOD helped maintain his mortal body while visiting the Afterlife to Duel Atem one more time. I can imagine he returned to the mortal realm after he possibly won or lost again. Kaiba is a genius to build a device that allowed a mortal man to visit the Afterlife and back. Imagine the holiday family events if people are allowed to visit the Afterlife for dearly Departed friends and loved ones and ancestors.
@SuperGamefreak18 And Kaiba surviving through sheer willpower and most likely Atem saving him. I can imagine that when Yugi, Kaiba, and their friends and family pass away, they join the Egyptian Afterlife to be with Atem. That lightning in the sky from now on in the weather of Yu-Gi-Oh! is Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragon firing his White Lightning/Burst Stream of Destruction at Yugi, Atem, or Joey.
one small caveat to the kaiba death theory, Takahashi did confirm kaiba eventually does make it back and co produces yugi's debut game as a designer, theres an art piece he made of the two playing on the KC space station on his instagram page. the only thing never explained aside from how kaiba comes back is whether he actually managed to defeat atem or not.
I think he'd keep the result to himself whether he won or lost, it was a personal thing at this point. I could probably see Atem giving him the win, hopefully satisfying Seto.
Mannnn the Kaiba's brother's storyline ended on a tragedy... Not only did Kaiba sacrificed his life for no reason because we know he wouldn't be able to defeat Atem, but Mukoba lost the only family member he had and his company, tragic 💔
To be honest it is possible Kaiba could have beaten Atem. A major part of DSOD is that Kaiba and Yugi are both stronger in general. Kaiba was a near equals to Yugi and we know Yugi can beat Atem. I also do not see how Atem becomes stronger than he was at the end of the original series. You could argue that Atem gained access to better cards via his renewed bonds with his old allies in the afterlife but again Atem really didn't have much higher to go.
Nah, tbh it's become more likely that Kaiba did survive as time has passed, like with that one artwork of kaiba and yugi playing the latters new game. The artwork is even meant to be 4 years after DSOD
I don’t think kaiba was planning a one way trip to the afterlife to duel the pharaoh. He isn’t the type of person to do something unless he knows it works or has backup plans. Hence why when he takes risks they are always either not risky in the grand picture, or the final gamble. To explain why kaiba didn’t say anything to mokuba besides to launch the system, it’s probably a show a confidence. Kaiba isn’t the mushy type. When he is it’s because someone attack him or his brother, Kaiba probably doesn’t know how to handle social situations. Kaiba has shown that under pressure he doesn’t show it. Against aigami, alister(doma), zigfried zone shrodder. All times with stress yes, but the only one who really made him express it was the pharaoh
Not only that but didn't Kazuki Takahashi post a piece of artwork that takes place after, Kaiba duels Atem in the afterlife? The one where he and, Yugi are playing, Yugi's new game.
@@nightmarearcade2663 he did, the artwork is even supposed to be 4 years after the movie, where they're playing the new game in space because kaiba loves to show off
If you want more evidence of Mokuba not being up to snuff to run Kaiba Corp... He's not even a good Duelist, like, the only times we've seen him duel in the series or rather, the ONLY time; was against Yami Yugi in the Duelist Kingdom arc: and that was because of Pegasus's forced takeover of the company in which he wanted, and Mokuba didn't want to let that happen. And do you know what he plays against the King of Games? Some random Duelist's deck that he swiped that contained Krokodilus and Man-Eating Plant. Even more so, during Battle City when most of the banter that he has with his brother whenever a Duel is underway, he doesn't know much about how the effects of the cards work and that he only thinks of what Kaiba usually says about the game: "It's all about power." Even in the Virtual World arc, we see him draw younger Kaiba a Blue-Eyes White Dragon card; because it's his brother's favorite card. So, you're telling me, that from the inception of Duel Monsters, after Duelist Kingdom, Battle City/Virtual World, Waking the Dragons and Millennium World arcs, even; and I'll count this, the sacky Pyramid of Light movie to The Dark Side of Dimensions... Seto Kaiba: the dude who- might've, created a whole new Summoning style (Synchro Summoning) to beat his rival, and created a streamlined efficient way of playing the game; just to beat his rival... didn't even teach his little kid brother anything about Duel Monsters!? Yep, that'd make sense.
I now need a “what if Seto never was adopted by Gozaburo” yugioh theory and the ramifications that would have on the series as a whole as well as his character development growing up 👀
This has been a Running headcanon of mine with the release of Vrains and its world in Duel Links, and It was super cool to see someone else share the same thought and explain it it a much cleaner way then I ever could. Awesome video 10/10 will most defiantly share 👍
This theory was long time in my mind. You are always the best putting together the theories. I also thought, long time ago, that the order of series might not follow the same order of the timeline. What I mean is, what if after DSoD (or after Gx), Vrains starts and then the events of the Arc-V are in a Virtual World, that could explain the "virtual" split of the dimensions and in every single dimension of Arc-V it would continue the Gx in fusion, the 5Ds in synchro and the Zexal in the Xyz dimension. That would explain, why there wasn't link monsters in the future (because of the split), and why there wasn't other extra summoning mechanics in the other dimensions. It's just a Yugioh theory!
I had a similar theory but for the Leo corporation in Arc-V. When Leo arrived at the Standard Dimension, Kaiba’s duel disks already existed, suggesting Leo likely succeeded Kaiba’s company instead and rebranded into his own.
Consider instead that SOL Technologies IS Kaiba Corporation, instead of a hostile take over, near Mokuba's end, cause neither of them are THERE, he restructures the company into SOL Technologies, creating a double meaning with the name Sol like the sun, metaphorically used for hopefulness, and Soul, as a means for him to see his brother again, as Kaiba was using the technology to explore the multiple universes, perhaps Duel Links/VRAINs are that interdimensional nexus, evidently Kaiba was able to do what he wanted, and with Kaiba Corp at Mokuba's command, he could shift directions to reuniting with his brother in the virtual world, not being brave enough to go into it full body. That's just my take on it, now I'll have to watch VRAINS...
Awesome video and it does make sense. VRAINS is awesome.. also the virtual world Arc of Yugioh Duel monsters could be looked at as a de facto vrains prequel
I have a different theory: Kaiba came back in DSOD and integrated the Quantum Cube in Duel Links. in DSOD the Quantum Cube has the ability to transport people to an alternate dimension sustained by memories. And what happens in the game Duel Links? People and things are created as the characters think about them! For example Yugo, Yuri, and Yuto are at the same time merged with Yuya (like the end of Arc-V) and the separated characters. Spectre figured this out out and, to prove it, managed to recreate the Tower Of Hanoi inside Duel Links by simply making enough people remembering it! Many people say that Millenium Items have inconsistent abilities (mind control, tablet sealing, point at things, etc.) but I don't think that's true; they just have broad powers. An alien could think a computer has inconsistent abilities because they simply don't understand it (it lets you do math, make music, contact other people on the other side of the world, etc.). So I think the Quantum Cube made Duel Links able to connect to different universes where both real people and people created by memories can interact.
According to Trascend the game Duel Links had the power to reach other dimensions prior to Kaiba getting the cube. One thing to take into account is that t DSOD world in Duel Links ignore the existence of the movie, since all the events since trascend the game happens in real time😮 insude of DL (while in the movie everything happened in the real world) so the way Duel Links work according to the game itself is independent from the cube since Kaiba got it in after Aigami's defeat, but by that point DL had 3 other worlds, DM is a recreation but 5D'S is suppose to be entered by real people
Thanks for actually including Mokuba in your theorizing. I swear, that kid gets willfully overlooked in analyses of Kaiba more often than Robin gets willfully overlooked in analyses of Batman.
3:46 It should be noted all of the world from DM to Zexal are retelling of events that happen in the show. But Arc V and Vrains are continuation after the ending of their respective shows ended.
When each world gets their “this is a world of memories” arcs, we learn a lot about their respective worlds and paradoxical existences like the supreme king and yubel to judai despite certain redos, even yusei gets bruno back thereby making them au at critical points in history
i like to think that all works as you said but mokuba just retired early because they don't have as high of a dream or ego as kaiba, also he might have changed the name himself because "it isn't kaiba corp without seto", gozaburo was the one that named it so i doubt they really had that much love for the name, changing it could even work as a final middle finger to the guy by removing his legacy from the world, seto would probably approve, or at least mokuba would think he approves. and it might be a big stretch but "soul technologies" keeps the s of seto name in the abreviation, and could be a way to keep seto's "soul" on the company, also his final experiments where very soul related, looking for the pharaoh soul and even traveling to the land of the death. so the theory doesn't need mokuba to fail to work, the name change isn't that weird when you remember that gozaburo kaiba was the one naming it and they probably didn't have any strong emotions about the name other than the fact that they both shared it, wich would become irrelevant once only one of the brothers is alive. also, i can totally see mokuba following seto's steps by trying to investigate the soul so he can follow seto to wherever he ended up, mokuba would have the same determination to be with seto that he had to rematch the pharaoh, they're brothers after all, even if mokuba didn't have the same talent as seto so he might take a little longer to get to the same point.
I like the idea that Kiba was saved, however, I think it took a long time for him to come back. He intended to die, but a miracle brought him back years later to find that his company had been turned into SOL Tech and no mention of what happened to Mokuba or Kiba Tech. It's a great set up for a mystery.
Mokuba in Dark Side of Dimensions put back his outfit into the bin It came from (it's not classism cause he's rich enough to buy Gucci and Armani as companies) and developed a massive drip
I run an rpg game in the Fate system set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Universe (or really more an amalgamation of anime and manga with the rough edges smoothed over) I went with the interpretation that Seto never returned from his dimensional travel thing but the technology from developing that as well as interactions with the Plana led to the boost in VR tech. Effectively via creating a new dimension as the VR world. Kaiba Corp was still around, but it took a back seat and contracted out to companies like SOL tech, providing investment money but not being the ones running the show. Like a lot of irl big investment companies. You don’t always hear about the parent brand over the main production companies. Now obviously that’s my own homebrew canon for a game, but could still be a similar explanation.
Sequel series to Vrains where Kaiba returns from the afterlife but in the future after the Vrains show and meets with that cast would be cool. Man I just want a new yugioh series like Vrains again.
hey spellcommander, i had a question, why do the characters of arc-v see extra deck summons as "complex", especially when the show took place in the standard dimension, and i just want to know why was it something to do with ray? or is just that the characters are stupid?
I like to think that Link Vrains and Duel Links are not one and the same but more of a convergence in time. Two unique things, each in their own world. A technology that links every world that exists in their own isolated bubble through cyber space. ... Aaaaand, now this is just a TCG themed digimon.
If ever we'll get a massive leak like the Pokémon company did with recently (like the beta designs and hidden Pokémon 'myths' that is made by a one very dedicated employee), I hope they include this massive lore gap with Dsod and Vrains that has been alluding this continuity because I know someone is cooking and they're just hiding it from us via Duel Links lore. There have been findings that the DM world there is the only one non-sentient because it was made from Kaiba's memories, while the other worlds, pretty much the memories (of their respective anime series) are a mix of from the characters' traits and from the players' perspective of themselves.
I definitely think Mokuba struggled heavily at the start, but I do think he would have picked up at least a few things from Seto's time running the company, especially with how more official-looking he looks in DSOD, so I don't think that Kaiba Corp. went bankrupt necessarily. That being said, I do think that Kaiba Corp. would eventually have had to either change its name or merge with another company with someone else taking the helm due to Mokuba's lack of experience.
So based of this I'm guessing the multiverse is like this DM > GX > 5D's ZEXAL ARC-V Manga > GX Manga > 5D's Manga Manga > DSOD > VRAINS (alternate timeline to the manga) GO RUSH!! (it's a prequel) > SEVENS
Yeah. In fact, I have toyed with the idea of doing an add on theory to that. But basically, if Kaiba was responsible for GX and 5DS and so on in the original anime timeline, then how did the world discover thinks like Synchro and XYZ summoning in the manga timeline where he may have died? Duel Links. Duel Links let’s the manga timeline learn all about advanced summoning from other worlds without needing to go through Momentum, Zero Reverse, etc.
In my headcanon Kaiba still having fun fooling around with Atem without the care in the world. Atem probably trying to kick him back to base reality but he is Kaiba Seto he does not care lol
Keep in mind that this sympathetic nature and therefore potential for liability stems from the fact that Mokuba is a *child.* And if that contraption *was* intended to be a one-way trip, then he just watched his brother *kill himself.* I think another way we get here is that all of KaibaCorp’s assets were sold off, or as another commenter suggested, Mokuba ditching the Kaiba name and rebranding the company, out of grief
I'm not sure what I think about the theory but I know Duel Links is kinda slow in uploading the characters into the system. guess that could make sense if Seto/Mokuba is gatekeeping the entrance process somehow. although they already let in a good chunk of villains/antagonists so even being gatekeeped shouldn't make things so slow. Go-Rush world being available now should speed up filling out all the worlds but who knows.
Kaiba is a gamer, not a playboy. Only Priest Seto in ancient Egypt showed any interest in a girl, namely Kisara. A playboy is someone like Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark. Also, Ai didn’t really want to kill all humans, he was only pretending so that Playmaker had no choice but to beat Ai.
So this was something else that irked me. None of the cast from the previous shows (minus Trudge) are around in 5Ds, but we do know that Trudge is there after the events of Season Zero caused him to require a stay in a mental health ward of some kind. What we don't know, and this is something big, is how many original cast members stayed in the city. We see that Anzu leaves for the US to little change outside of attaining her dreams, Yugi does stay to continue in his grandfather's place as both a card shop owner and game creator, Joey goes global and actually has pro status (GX referenced it), and I'm pretty sure Tristan stayed behind to care for Serenity in Joey's absence if Duke didn't. That doesn't leave much leeway for a survival of any of the gamers outside of Joey and possibly Bakura moving to the UK again. This isn't counting Jaden going on his travels, the teaching degree from Asuka, and the ending for a few others. Outside of Bastion. He's most likely at ground zero. In theory, this would actually work in the benefits of the theory because of the way Mokuba acts in DL. Most of the characters in DL have a lot of their original show connections, but in DSOD it's a lot different. Mokuba and Seto there are almost separate people altogether rather than having Mokuba worship Seto. In DM you get Mokuba as a consistent damsel in distress with his lines, but with the way he speaks in the DSOD voice lines you get a lot more for him being a solo act without Seto. Now if all of this is added together, and there could be a solid proof of characters joining DL with certain connections to each other in more than typical ways outside of Vrains it would work perfectly. And that's where my own reaction theory comes in. There could be an underlying story element to certain events. Though specifically the boss monster duel events. If placed chronologically, there is a heavy connection between the events. Yubel led to a plant based one (Light of Destruction being a seed reference post Society of Light event?) in the Vrains side and from there we had a connection to Yuri and the Yu-Girls to follow up as a connection to the dimensions and the fact that there's a dark light around them.
I think because the movie was nation of the manga that took place after the original manga and the image we see of Kiba and yugi is canon I think the theory is pretty close except perhaps Kiba died later on of natural or other causes and everything else went the same.
Vrains ain't the only world in Duel Links that acting as a continuation... Arc-V world also explicitly takes place after it's show... and certain event Dialog for (at least) GX and 5Ds worlds also reveal that everyone is aware of the events repeating themselves. Same with Zexal as well.... though in that case, everyone seems to have collective memory loss... as while Yuma Shark and Kite all acknowledged that Yuma gathered all the numbers before coming to Vrains (and subquestionaly losing them all), NO ONE seems to remember who the Barians are.
My head canon is that 5D'S world is an alternative universe where te events of the show happened the same up until after Z-one's defeat. Team 5D'S stopped the Arc Craddle, but the conflict of the last 2 episodes didn't happen because Duel Link appeared in their world. In the show the team memebers were sad and afraid because everyone had a different place to go so they wouldn't see each other for an unknown period of time. In the future scenes we saw that aki didn't meet Yusei since the separation. But in DL they can see each other whenever they want. Also when Yusei entered Jack revealed that he had been trainin in DL to have a final duel with Yusei, so that implies the Jack vs yusei duel from the last two episodes happens inside Duel Links. I think Zexal just got retconed
Actually all the different worlds in Duel Links are supposed to be after the climaxes of their respective series and not just vrains. We know this through certain characters in their events acknowledging that they are canonically dead like Yami Bakura, Z-One and the Yu-boys and girls. DSoD and the Rush duel worlds are the only odd ones out. Zexal is also more iffy because when the world released it was acknowledged that Yuma had all 100 numbers but lost them when entering Duel Links but the barian events make it out like Yuma has no idea who the barians are.
Wasnt there a illustration by takahashi that confirms kaiba made it back from the afterlife?? A theory on kaiba from darkside😂 might be cool what he does after if he makes it back and where the company could go
I feel Mokuba would rather reduce the scope of the company and rebrand to sell off the fat because he would know exactly how much he could handle as for the name, well he never really took his adopted family’s name for himself anyway
While I am one of the guys who believe this theory, the pre-Rush era animes stopped caring about continuity once Zexal came out tho so I don't think the writers even cared about continutity issues between Arc-V and VRAINS to begin with Rather than that, I think Vrains is more connected with the Duel Links manga since that one is blatantly connecting the universes together (unlike the anime) and even supports your theory of DSoD being linked to Vrains
Let's be real, whether or not Mokuba ended up being business savvy, Seto was still the whole reason the company became such a titan in the first place. With him gone, and Industrial Illusions just sort of existing at that point, a new competitor was bound to overtake Kaiba Corp sooner or later.
ORR maybe mokuba funded a new start up and they created a new merger. SOL technology. Because he doesn’t need his name on a building to show they have a soul in what they work in
counterpoint to your one way trip argument about kaibas afterlife visit, there is an official from what i remember canonized artwork that takes place after the events of DSOD of yugi and and kaiba playing a game yugi made which heavily implies kaiba came back alive but that his trip was only temporary
I think Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel links Make this confirmed he created that game and play maker and then find a realization all the Ukyo worlds are connected into the game or something and still not explained how He did that
As much as I hate the Duel Links Meta... I do love the storylines for Vrains and even Arc-V. I almost don't want to believe Kaiba would have let himself die just to duel Atem... but he's an stubborn idiot. Plus the special image of Kaiba playing Yugi's game in space could have happened before he went to the afterlife. Who knows.
Around 5:53 Actually we have confirmation from Takahashi that this isn't true, in fact, there is an illutration made by him of Kaiba and Yugi playing a game in his space elavator (You make it appear around 6:59 ) that's suppose to be canon, because Kaiba mass produces Yugi's game after playing it. So no, it wasn't suppose to be a one way trip
Actually, Takahashi’s post of Yugi and Kaiba playing Spherium was originally published to his Instagram under the caption, “An illustration of a possible future of the movie’s story.” He never wanted to confirm one way or the other if Kaiba came back.
Different timelines/continuities. In the Anime, it goes Duel Monsters, GX, 5DS. But in the Manga/Movies, it goes Duel Monsters, Dark Side of Dimensions... and then it's kind of ambiguous what happens next?
Pegasus is also dead in the manga canon so if Kaiba really did die, it would make sense other players would muscle in and take over Duel Monsters.

Pegasus already said if he doesn’t create duel monsters someone else will
I feel like Akira is very likely gonna be the next character added into the Vrains world. unless they add the 3 other high ranking Hanoi first. I could see either appearing next based on the last event.
I like how III, IV and V all Went into Duel Links to investigate what's happening.
Also DL is a place that give the characters some memory Blockage.
Do you think you'll be doing the gx rewrite again?
Yup! I'm working on it in a new format. Hopefully will have something to share soon.
Yes finally I was waiting for the next part for year's
Awesome I can't wait to see it
@@SpellCommander91 OH well that's surprising. Sweet.
Imagine the holiday family events if people are allowed to visit the Afterlife for dearly Departed friends and loved ones and ancestors.
hm i believe that actually EXTREMELY close call especially trying to duel atem and if they dueled it would have pushed his body to its limit
For some reason I have an opposite Thought.
That he wanted his Duel with the Pharaoh to be final Duel
If anything, he probably uploads his consciousness into Links so that even if he did die or just lost the duel, there would always be another chance.
one small caveat to the kaiba death theory, Takahashi did confirm kaiba eventually does make it back and co produces yugi's debut game as a designer, theres an art piece he made of the two playing on the KC space station on his instagram page. the only thing never explained aside from how kaiba comes back is whether he actually managed to defeat atem or not.
I think he'd keep the result to himself whether he won or lost, it was a personal thing at this point. I could probably see Atem giving him the win, hopefully satisfying Seto.
That’s just one possible future which takahashi said. There’s no confirmed end. It’s possible he died as well.
The gods have smiled on us! SpellCommander has uploaded a brand new theory!
Incredible, as always!
@@darknessknows1235 yah plus I won't be supized if atem sent him back jest to make sure he lives
Here's my 25 cents on SOL technology it might be a merger between Kiba corp and industrial illusions.
And SOL Tech can also stand for Slifer, Obelisk and Ra with the R spoken as an L because of the Japanese language.
@GreyVictory1510 genius
@@GreyVictory1510ultimat immorta phoenix RA
Or why not visas yet at DL konami ?
Mostly I2(industrial illusions) were already under Yugi because Pegasus is already dead during 5D'S
On top of everything, I don't think Atem would just... allow Kaiba to dissolve away into the afterlife.
Not only that but didn't Kazuki Takahashi post a piece of artwork that takes place after, Kaiba duels Atem in the afterlife? The one where he and, Yugi are playing, Yugi's new game.
@@nightmarearcade2663 he did, the artwork is even supposed to be 4 years after the movie, where they're playing the new game in space because kaiba loves to show off
@@darknessknows1235yah It definitely a case where atem probably sent him back
He called it a ‘possible’ future.
SILENCE, ALL
THE KING IS SPEAKING
I completely forgot Kaiba was supposed to be a teenager
You can never tell ages when it comes to anime characters... 😅
First world problem.
Your theories are so good that I literally consider them canon to me regardless if Konami and studio Gallop confirms them or not
I now need a “what if Seto never was adopted by Gozaburo” yugioh theory and the ramifications that would have on the series as a whole as well as his character development growing up 👀
This has been a Running headcanon of mine with the release of Vrains and its world in Duel Links, and It was super cool to see someone else share the same thought and explain it it a much cleaner way then I ever could. Awesome video 10/10 will most defiantly share 👍
I'd like to believe that Mokuba just rebranded the company after Kaiba passed away
Love your theories on the connected Yu-Gi-Oh chronology!
YESSSS IVE MISSED THESE VIDEOS
According to an article I saw, Seto does return and play Yugi's new game.
Thank you for the video Commander!
I missed your theory videos can't wait to watch this 😁
I had a similar theory but for the Leo corporation in Arc-V. When Leo arrived at the Standard Dimension, Kaiba’s duel disks already existed, suggesting Leo likely succeeded Kaiba’s company instead and rebranded into his own.
I deeply admire the research and explanations, instantly Subscribed! Please make more stuff like this, I'd love to hear it!
Makes sense. He didn’t seem to care about the game nearly as hard as Seto, but more about helping people thru it.
Wait, so LINK VRAINS was actually made by MokuSoft?!!
Nah, they're still dealing with the losses from the harassment of the US Armed Forces.
can't be, their operating systems aren't confusing as heck
Welcome back Commander. You’ve been missed.
Awesome video and it does make sense. VRAINS is awesome.. also the virtual world Arc of Yugioh Duel monsters could be looked at as a de facto vrains prequel
AHH! A NEW YIGIOH VIDEO! THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!
One thing to take into account is that t DSOD world in Duel Links ignore the existence of the movie, since all the events since trascend the game happens in real time😮 insude of DL (while in the movie everything happened in the real world) so the way Duel Links work according to the game itself is independent from the cube since Kaiba got it in after Aigami's defeat, but by that point DL had 3 other worlds, DM is a recreation but 5D'S is suppose to be entered by real people
Love this video! However I am humbly asking you continue your Gx rewrite please! 🙇🏽♂️ 🙏
Amazing! This could really make sense! I can't wait to Watch!!! I know i am going to love it regardless❤❤❤

Oh shit spellcommander back with a new theory
Thanks for actually including Mokuba in your theorizing. I swear, that kid gets willfully overlooked in analyses of Kaiba more often than Robin gets willfully overlooked in analyses of Batman.
3:46
It should be noted all of the world from DM to Zexal are retelling of events that happen in the show.
All of them except DSoD and the Rush duel worlds happen after the climaxes of each story
i like to think that all works as you said but mokuba just retired early because they don't have as high of a dream or ego as kaiba, also he might have changed the name himself because "it isn't kaiba corp without seto", gozaburo was the one that named it so i doubt they really had that much love for the name, changing it could even work as a final middle finger to the guy by removing his legacy from the world, seto would probably approve, or at least mokuba would think he approves.
and it might be a big stretch but "soul technologies" keeps the s of seto name in the abreviation, and could be a way to keep seto's "soul" on the company, also his final experiments where very soul related, looking for the pharaoh soul and even traveling to the land of the death.
so the theory doesn't need mokuba to fail to work, the name change isn't that weird when you remember that gozaburo kaiba was the one naming it and they probably didn't have any strong emotions about the name other than the fact that they both shared it, wich would become irrelevant once only one of the brothers is alive.
also, i can totally see mokuba following seto's steps by trying to investigate the soul so he can follow seto to wherever he ended up, mokuba would have the same determination to be with seto that he had to rematch the pharaoh, they're brothers after all, even if mokuba didn't have the same talent as seto so he might take a little longer to get to the same point.
Universe (or really more an amalgamation of anime and manga with the rough edges smoothed over)
I went with the interpretation that Seto never returned from his dimensional travel thing but the technology from developing that as well as interactions with the Plana led to the boost in VR tech.
I’d watch the hell out of that.
hey spellcommander, i had a question, why do the characters of arc-v see extra deck summons as "complex", especially when the show took place in the standard dimension, and i just want to know why was it something to do with ray? or is just that the characters are stupid?
Nice a theory video! Did you also theorize that Soltech is the rebranding of KaibaCorp?
Good video
I like to think that Link Vrains and Duel Links are not one and the same but more of a convergence in time. Two unique things, each in their own world. A technology that links every world that exists in their own isolated bubble through cyber space.
...
Aaaaand, now this is just a TCG themed digimon.
Seto kiba is basically my real life rival but rich
The Stratego timeline is probably another alternate timeline.
We're so back
The end o dsod isnt a "one way trip", the credits show that kaiba came back, as theres images of him playing agaisnt lil yugi.
So based of this I'm guessing the multiverse is like this
DM > GX > 5D's
ZEXAL
ARC-V
Manga > GX Manga > 5D's Manga
Manga > DSOD > VRAINS (alternate timeline to the manga)
GO RUSH!! (it's a prequel) > SEVENS
so does this still work on the complete timeline with the ritual dimension (manga alt continuity position) still holds up
Honestly SOL Technologies probably works under KaibaCorp. There was a rather strange lack of the supernatural in Vrains.
In my headcanon Kaiba still having fun fooling around with Atem without the care in the world.
Atem probably trying to kick him back to base reality but he is Kaiba Seto he does not care lol
can you do theories about Yu-Gi-Oh Duel links?
I'm actually just getting started with Duel Links, so hopefully once I've spent some time playing it and getting to know it, I can make some theories!
The fact that vrains, like arc v, does not to feature dark magician or blue eyes would be another sign of confirmation.
Yo is yu gi oh GX rewritten discontinued or one day will you go back
Little of column A, little of column B. I'm working on a revamped version of it in a new format.
Also, Ai didn’t really want to kill all humans, he was only pretending so that Playmaker had no choice but to beat Ai.
did he go to the afterlife? i thought he went to ancient egypt when atem was still alive?
DSOD is 6 months after the manga and one year after the anime if we go by 4Kids.
Wasnt there a illustration by takahashi that confirms kaiba made it back from the afterlife?? A theory on kaiba from darkside😂 might be cool what he does after if he makes it back and where the company could go
I’m just wondering if there were any other competitors such as maybe”Pegasus?”
In the manga timeline, Pegasus actually died right after Duelist Kingdom when Bakura took the Millennium Eye.

Yugioh Theory: This guy will blame literally everything on Kaiba.
I feel Mokuba would rather reduce the scope of the company and rebrand to sell off the fat because he would know exactly how much he could handle as for the name, well he never really took his adopted family’s name for himself anyway
While I am one of the guys who believe this theory, the pre-Rush era animes stopped caring about continuity once Zexal came out tho so I don't think the writers even cared about continutity issues between Arc-V and VRAINS to begin with
Rather than that, I think Vrains is more connected with the Duel Links manga since that one is blatantly connecting the universes together (unlike the anime) and even supports your theory of DSoD being linked to Vrains
Let's be real, whether or not Mokuba ended up being business savvy, Seto was still the whole reason the company became such a titan in the first place. With him gone, and Industrial Illusions just sort of existing at that point, a new competitor was bound to overtake Kaiba Corp sooner or later.
DSOD : seto use Ritual monsters
Vrains: they used Ritual monsters
Btw the First Op of Vrains has the Eye of Eye of Wdjat
Easy answer: Mokuba Changed the name
I think SOL Technologies is just a Rebranded KaibaCorp
ORR maybe mokuba funded a new start up and they created a new merger. SOL technology. Because he doesn’t need his name on a building to show they have a soul in what they work in
but isnt kaiba alive after movie tho we see official art of kaiba playing yugis game

counterpoint to your one way trip argument about kaibas afterlife visit, there is an official from what i remember canonized artwork that takes place after the events of DSOD of yugi and and kaiba playing a game yugi made which heavily implies kaiba came back alive but that his trip was only temporary
It was stated to be a possible future.
I thought DSoD took place 6 months after the Ceremonial Duel. Guess I was wrong.
That’s correct. The video saying two years is incorrect.
I think Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel links Make this confirmed he created that game and play maker and then find a realization all the Ukyo worlds are connected into the game or something and still not explained how He did that
Wow
I mean, we don’t see the same technology in the manga continuity of GX and after, it’s kind of moot isn’t it?
I mean a hostile takeover is possible but mostly it's just coincidence
Could be....
Vrains in the year 2027
As much as I hate the Duel Links Meta... I do love the storylines for Vrains and even Arc-V.
I almost don't want to believe Kaiba would have let himself die just to duel Atem... but he's an stubborn idiot. Plus the special image of Kaiba playing Yugi's game in space could have happened before he went to the afterlife. Who knows.
Nah, feels too depressing.
Actually, Takahashi’s post of Yugi and Kaiba playing Spherium was originally published to his Instagram under the caption, “An illustration of a possible future of the movie’s story.”
He never wanted to confirm one way or the other if Kaiba came back.
What about 5ds i thought 5ds comes afterwards.
Different timelines/continuities.
In the Anime, it goes Duel Monsters, GX, 5DS.
But in the Manga/Movies, it goes Duel Monsters, Dark Side of Dimensions... and then it's kind of ambiguous what happens next?
Kaibas no playboy. I don't think he's a dateable person. His brother is the only one he cares about
