  • Ever wondered what it takes to climb a mountain that’s never been climbed before?
Well, now you can watch a pair of over-ambitious amateurs do just that.
Ignore the shitty audio and the fact I can’t edit videos.

This video is a true representation of what i want to accomplish when i have the resources to do so (as i am only 18 and beginning college). This is probably the best video i've seen to date, ever since i took on mountaineering as an aspiring hobby. You guys are genuinely my heroes, thank you so much for documenting this and showing the world what only 2 people with a drive can accomplish, this is truly beautiful to me. Im currently planning to take a mountaineering course soon, i will only be able to afford it by eating scraps for about two months but so be it. My current mountaineering goal is to complete a guided summit to Matterhorn in the swiss alps by summer 2025. I hope to be able to keep my hobby alive and eventually go on great expeditions like this. Thank you guys so much for this, i wish you the best!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! Stick at it and you’ll probably find you’re ready to take a leap of faith and do something big sooner than you think (definitely get some practice in first though!)
It took us a couple of years of planning and saving to pull this off, but I’d do it again in a heart beat. If you need any details on how we kept the cost down, drop me an email any time.

Fabulous, clever to realise the limits of what you could achieve, and great that you got the climb in just in time before the weather turned. And some people watching this might not twig that the mountain you climbed is approx equal in height to the highest mountain in Europe! Stunning achievement.

We were hoping to get just a little higher than Mt Blanc, but we’ll have to leave this mountains big sister for another time!

It's like the mountain is crumbling before your eyes. I like the spirit of going somewhere novel and not doing something someone has done 1000 times just because there is some prestige attached to it.
    Well done chaps.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Jonathan Conville mountaineering courses. I think they’re partially funded, defo worth a look.
You can save a lot getting secondhand gear off eBay too (best to avoid anything you’re trusting your life to like ropes though!)
There are so many opportunities for adventures out there, you’ll get there for sure 👊

Oh man, this was great! Wouldn't have minded double the length 😁 Amazing mountains! I believe there is a national geographic ep on similar region where they try to free solo some crazy ass cliff.
Any further mountain expeditions in the horizon? Wouldn't mind that sorta content in addition to your other missions 😇

Drop me a message to jethrohobbs@gmail.com I’ll send you a link for some great maps for Central Asia! We didn’t do anything for bears specifically, to be honest, there really wasn’t any sign of them about. A can of spray probably would have been a good idea though

why ruin the video by showing the summit at the beginning ? -- editing failure -- its better to have mystery for the viewer - like (is he going to make it ? )

There are plenty of things I’d edit differently in hindsight tbh, and I have been tempted to redo it before. Maybe one day
