When you got nothing else to watch while eating food. There were still some minor stuff like secret health refills and stuff that I didn't knew and while getting the shouryuken, you can also used a charge chain thingy (haven't played the X games for over a year now) instead of the fire boosts over the spikes that requires double dashing.
The armor piece in morph moth's stage is just unfair. Out of every well hidden piece in all of the megaman games that one is just unreasonable to find without cheating.
MFW you revealed what happened in the secret energy rooms: O_O Seriously. I didn't play this until my early 20's, and as I got better at it, I always figured they were just a bunch of false flags Capcom put in those stages to screw with me. But now that I see what they're for, I'm blown away.
Hey bro this is a awesome guide! I'm glad there is a easier and safer way to get the heart tank on overdrive ostrich's stage I've been using charged speed burner and dying like a sucker lol. Also on crystal snail's stage with the heart tank you don't really have to use sponge wire to get to that ledge after jumping from the glider you just have to delay the glide an extra second and a half before jumping out of it. I made it to the wall just fine doing that.
wow given how many ways you got around the intended ways to do things, was surprised you went with the intended way to get the e-tank in bubble crabs stage.
@@KoD83 Well for instance that stage you got the heart tank without even beating the stage to get the bubble weapon, I figured you'd have also exploited the jump glitch to get the e-tank prior to beating the stage too.
Ah, I reached that wall a few times without bubble jump, but I can't replicate it... so I never bothered to try again, it's something like a glitch and I can't put stuff in a guide which I can't do in one try. That's the whole story. I don't do glitches, only intended ways and "alternative" ways ;) edit: although the Wheel Gator heart tank is almost a glitch... but it always works for me.
KoD83 I mean, the Wheel Gator heart is more an exploit than a glitch. You’re taking advantage of invincibility frames to get the heart early. I never thought to damage boost to get it, but if it works better and is more reliable than the intended way (air dash + charged speed burner) I can’t complain.
There is an easier way to get the Heart Tank in Crystal Snail's stage. The fully-charged claw attack travels faster; you can use that to hover across and get to the wall without any upgrades.
My personal route which doesn't include backtrack: Wire Sponge - Nothing required to get everything. Easy to fight with buster only. Wheel Gator - Strike Chain + Dash off the wall shown in video for Buster upgrade and I-frames trick also shown in the video for Heart. Boss is easy with Buster only too. Crystal Snail - Nothing required to get everything (you can get to the heart without Strike Chain if you don't burn your Ride Armor's hover all in one go). Easy fight with Buster only. Flame Stag - Nothing required again. Medium difficult fight without Bubble Splash. Morph Moth - Crystal Hunter for heart, Spin Wheel for chest upgrade. Charged up Speed Burner works wonders here. Magna Centipede - Charged Speed Burner for Heart and SubTank (yes you can get to the tank without using that one moving block by staying at the very edge and doing a Dash + jump to the right followed by charged Speed Burner at the apex of your jump. You should be able to barely reach the wall and wall-jump to the tank). Violen should be in this level if you following this route, he's not too bad with all the previous upgrades. The boss is a cakewalk with Silk Shot. Overdrive Ostrich - Bike for Heart, Spin Wheel for leg upgrade. Serges should be here. Again shouldn't be too much trouble at this point. Crystal Hunter for boss. Bubble Crab - Dash + jump off wall or charged Speed Burner for Heart. You can reach the SubTank without Bubble Splash by doing a jump off the slope directly below the SubTank then climbing the upper left wall and jumping on the water's surface until you can reach the tank. Agile is here, use Magnet Mine. Use Spin Wheel for boss.
It's possible to only backtrack once using a glitch in Bubble Crab's stage called the super jump. You use the slope to super jump to the wall under the Sub-Tank to surface jump to it. No need for Bubble Crab's weapon or the Arm Parts.
You don't need to backtrack at all. Wire Sponge, Flame Stag, Bubble Crab and Crystal Snail can all be 100%d with no upgrades/weapons, Wheel Gator requires Strike Chain(Wire Sponge's weapon)for the buster upgrade and Speed Burner(Flame Stag's weapon) + buster upgrade which you got earlier in the stage for the heart tank. Overdrive Ostrich requires Spin Wheel(Wheel Gator's weapon)for the leg upgrade. Morph Moth requires Crystal Hunter(Crystal Snail's weapon)for the heart tank and Spin Wheel for the body upgrade. Magna Centipede requires the leg upgrade from Overdrive Ostrich's stage and Speed Burner + buster upgrade from Wheel Gator's stage for both collectibles. My route: Wire Sponge Flame Stag Bubble Crab Crystal Snail Wheel Gator Overdrive Ostrich Morph Moth Magna Centipede
***** Oh ok then I already know the secrets of X1(but that won't mean I wouldn't like to see it) like the back of my hand but the X3 video will be interesting to see since i rarely go back to play it.
Yeah that's what happened. I play using an emulator and I always load a save state where I've beaten the first level. Months ago I've must have went to the crystal stage, gotten the heart tank, died and then saved at the stage select screen and completely forgotten about it. Sorry to anyone who wasted their time trying to look into this.
Why is it that sometimes when I got to the heart tank location on Crystals Snail's stage, there's nothing there? Do I need to have certain upgrades first?
Entresol hmm, heart tanks dont require anything to get ( other than getting to them ) so maybe in the ride armor witha big ol hitbox you collected it before properly landing and dodnt even realise it
How to use it or how to obtain it? To obtain it, you need all upgrades, heart tanks and sub tanks at full and full health when you reach the area. To use it, the button input is the same as the Shoryuken from Street Fighter.
All of Funny 969 You press the shoot button after you press forward, down, then diagonally down forward (in street fighter I think it's called forward and then quarter circle) It looks like this written out in arrows --> v \>. Kind of hard to explain but easy to input when you use it. Also it only works when you're at full health
I’ve seen people manage to just jump up to that block to get it, but it’s a pain in the butt and *SUPER* precise. You’re honestly better off getting it after getting either the arm upgrade and speed burner or leg upgrade. I’d recommend getting both before revisiting though, since they make getting the heart and sub tanks so much easier by charging a speed burner shot with the buster upgrade, air dashing, and firing the speed burner right after (it’s better to see it than explain in words).
the only one i didnt figure out on my own was the energy battery in the water level. would have never thought of that one. By the way i used the fire jump on areas that he used something totally different. lol so funny
good morning, good afternoon, good evening! it is very difficult to get the x buster upgrade withouth the boots upgrade! can you give me a tip the timing? thank you anyway! i loved this game!
The position from where you start the jump is important. You want to reach the 2nd (left) wall with the grappling hook, and not bump against the 1st (right) wall. The heigth difference of these walls is just as small as Megaman's head. Start the jump from where I jump at 0:27 Aim for the bottom edge of the 1st wall... just when Megaman is about to bump his head on the sharp edge of the wall, hold down the firebutton for the grappling hook, and don't forget to press left and jump jump jump...
There are easier ways if you have all the weapons for the situation, but this is optimized for beating the game without having to re-enter stages, except for 1x Water stage and 1x Junk stage.
Imagine the number of people watching these guides nowadays because of Megaman X Legacy Collection 1 and 2? Thank you very much.
what made more people get into megaman?

The I-Tracer would have pinpointed that location. But most people don't use it at all....
wtf? all you need is the first armor upgrade that finds secrests and you can find it easy. I found it without any cheats.
Btw, in the energy refill rooms it's better not to jump, or else the energy will spawn in the floor ...as you can see
I thought I found everything in this game. 25 years later I’m just now discovering all the energy rooms.
The overdrive ostrich heart tank is most likely the hardest heart tank to get

I'm not using wire sponge 😅..just use good timing after jump from robot to grab wall.
I do this order too. Nice!!!

This is the best Megaman game ever.
ChangingFateRock thats your opinion. I personally prefer Megaman X3
I prefer x1 and 3. 8lx8 is also really good. A lot of people sleep on that one
The upgrade box at 4:00 does not appear in my game. Do you know what could be the reason?
It could be that you're missing a Sub-container or a Heart-tank or something. You need 100% before you reach that upgrade.
I've beaten this game a thousand times without all heart tanks. Wow. Never knew about the one on morph moths stage
Thanks Kazi this was helpful in my playthrough of MMX2 ^.^ You ever thought of making more of these for the other X games?
I could make one for X1 and X3, but I haven't played the others often enough to make a worthy video xD

I'm finished this game but can't get shoryuken 😬.
check if you collected all upgrades before you try to get the shoryuken👍
The x buster one is driving me insane
then skip it, get the shoes first, and then get the x buster upgrade

either that or use the fire jump
