    Here I sit watching this as it's 28 degrees outside and the temp is falling lol. Its like watching fish in an aquarium as I sit with a fire in the fireplace. Awesome!!!

      I'm right with you, as I try to watch my videos before releasing them - and the best place is on the big screen TV, right over the fireplace 😄

    I keep telling myself all this snow will keep the water levels up next summer. Thanks for the taste of summer.

      Actually, Parks Canada has already had to release water downstream from Lock 42 to alleviate the unseasonably high levels on Simcoe and Couchiching. Kinda early for that, but I'm sure it's due to the two big thaws we've had so far this season...

      Did I ever tell you that the first time we went through here (on the return trip), I missed a marker and kinda hit bottom?
      That's why I always say I feel like I've left a little part of me in Stoney Lake 🤣

      I will be sure to mention that to her! And as for navigating through here, it's well marked and pretty easy to follow - unless not paying attention :-( Check this video out, as I tell the sad story of our very first time visiting here, and the subsequent bottom bump ;-) Here ya go; ua-cam.com/video/y5xiFU1NwXk/v-deo.html

      Lucky, yes. But the part I didn't mention was that I was trying to get close to the small church on a small island that Anchor Girl wanted to take pictures of.
      I'll leave it to your imagination to figure out what choice words I got when I suddenly threw the boat into neutral 🤣

    just watched the video under Dave Lawrence's comment and learned something new today. I was not familiar with what Canadian Shield granite is and had to look it up. It's amazing how these formations survived numerous ice ages, glaciers and fiberglass boats!

      And also don't forget about propeller damage ;-)
      To see even more of the beautiful rock formations in this part of our boating world, check this boring video out from one of our voyages on Georgian Bay; ua-cam.com/video/XMwuPGDBAT8/v-deo.html.

      @@BoatingWithBoogaboo Ah, yes. The shield rock formations and evergreens in Georgian Bay certainly provide fantabulous cruising scenery (sorry, couldn't resist). Hello Mr. Paul do you think it’s safe for me to drive my boat for the first time coming from Port Frank to will be going to Huron up to Tober Morey go to Georgian bay and all the way down using the Trent Severn to go to Lake Simcoe and it’s so be my first time doing it, would you recommend for me to hire a captain? What do you think? Thank you.

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Рік тому

      Hi Mike. A journey like this might be difficult for a new boater, or if it's on a boat that's new to you. If you have confidence in your abilities to pilot the boat, navigate across large and exposed bodies of water, or have the skillset to make potential repairs while traveling, then it's doable.
      However, if you can't check all those boxes, my recommendation would be to have a professional captain move the boat for you. Probably the safest option, both for you and the boat.

    A couple of questions and if your planning a later episode on the subject feel free not to answer but has the additional 4 foot made a measurable impact below are the handling aspects different and of omni importance what did it do to fuel economy

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Рік тому

      I have already mentioned on a couple of prior videos as to the handling characteristics of this vessel. Bottom line is that I am very impressed on how she handles in all conditions! That said, I think I will do a more specific video on the handling aspects this coming Spring. In the meantime, check this one out here: ua-cam.com/video/YMhJPyKlPa4/v-deo.html
      As for fuel economy, you've clearly not been following for too long ;-) What we use in fuel is so far down the list of importance, it doesn't even register. Gas prices are what they are and the amount we go through in a season is immaterial. As I believe I've talked about before, I would be more worried about using ENOUGH fuel in a season, as opposed to concerning myself with cost, etc.. I literally go to work so that we can enjoy our boating lifestyle and the very wort thing for me would be not able to use it for fear of fuel costs... True story.

    • @davelawrence6777
      @davelawrence6777 Рік тому

      The question about fuel was not intended to relate to cost it was intended for the purposes of range if I'm doing island crossings I'm less concerned about the cost and more concerned about having sufficient to make sorry i didn't mean to insult you

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Рік тому

      No insult taken, all good. It's just sometimes frustrating how many times I'm asked that. Probably more from non boaters who might be blown away by his much boats cost to enjoy.
      For us, it basically averages about one mile per gallon over the season. Hope that helps.
