Ninja Nerds!
Join us in this lecture where Professor Zach Murphy will be discussing the pineal gland. We go into detail on the circadian rhythm, which is also known as the sleep wake cycle. We also talk about the bodies biological clock and what processes occur to let our body know when the sleep wake cycle should begin. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

I’m not a medical student the way you explain made me to learn more and more thank you !!!👍🏻
The BEST Endocrinology lecture series on youtube that is ACTUALLY helpful in exams. I literally took the time to actually stood up from my seat and just give it a standing ovation.
I set up an altar and worship him because of this video.

what do you study to be examined on this? I'm just here for personal research

Thanks alot for your valuable information. I am learning alot. It is very important to know how our brain works especially the pineal gland. O GOD we are fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. Praise GOD. Thank you again Dr. May our good GOD continue to bless you and you wonderful profession
So all the pineal gland symbolism all over the world is about getting a good night sleep? Ahh man thats so disappointing !
Lolol
😂😂😂😂 I am here to see what happens when you open the eye of Horus or pineal gland. I am also disappointed. This is what all secret societies. I think there is more to it. A lot people died to preserve this secret🤫
Yes ancient egypt and india wanted to mention the importance of sleep. 😂😂
These videos are more geared toward human medicine, but for any vet med/animal nerds out there-
The pineal gland also works to synchronize metabolism/physiology with the *length* of daytime. This isn't exactly important for people, whose females function on a menstrual cycle, but various species are seasonal ovulators instead. Their retinas take in the amount of light they receive, which changes depending on the length of the day. Longer days = more light = less melatonin and vice versa. This can actually trigger reproductive mechanisms in other species. Some species like horses ovulate when the days get longer, since their gestation time is about a year, longer days = warmer days, and they can have their foals in the spring. Some species like goats are "short-day" ovulators, whose gestation is only about 150 days, which provides the opportunity to also kid in the spring. So not only does this work in a circadian or daily rhythm, but also works as a seasonal rhythm regulator as well.
Just wanted to throw out there that this is the endocrine mechanism responsible for initiating those reproductive processes in other species. Love the videos, thanks for helping me study for my physiology exams!
So interesting! TY for sharing that info!
I’m a vet med student thanks!
this is so interesting
interesting !
Respect from a vet student here!
Very well explained, as always, although we need a video on circadian rythm as well.
This video really cleared my concept regarding pineal Gland and the mechanism of it's hormones secretion.😁A big Thank you to you❤️
This is great! Studying for my accelerated A&P finals. This helped a lot!
Why does melatonin work more when you're studying .....you just feel so sleepy and drowsy...I want my pineal gland removed 😭😭😭
So trueeee 😭😭😂
It was a really helpful video to understand about the pineal gland and how it functions
My brother was diagnosed with pineal gland germinoma 15 years ago and recovered from it. He had his VP shunt since the growth was obstructing his CSF fluid pathway. Last year he had hydrocephalus and was told to proceed with ETV and biopsy as it was worried that he had possible recurrent growth plus his shunt is no longer optimal. ETV was successful and biopsy came out negative thankfully. He now has sleep problems to what may be due to the injury of his pineal gland/hydrothalamus during the latest procedure etc. I find your videos to be very helpful for people to educate themselves and even think of possible solutions (in his case, maybe he needs a boost of melatonin to enjoy better sleep at night). I hope that you can continue to teach the world with your brilliant visual drawings and splendid explanation.
Look up RSO for sleep. Take it by mouth at night, best sleep you'll ever have. Hope you can help your brother look into it.
@@MK-ih6wpi love RSO.. Thank God it's legal now 🙏💚💯
Amazing video
Hopefully you are an educator! Students would love your instruction technique 👍
I'm wondering - Some of the seratonin produced by the pineal gland does not convert into melatonin right? So since seratonin has been attributed as a key tryptamine in consciousness-function, does darkness also stimulate thought, imagination and dreamlike reminiscence through the pineal gland? For me my mind is as most active during night in darkness. Memories and imagination is heightened. It's a passage from day activities and into dreaming. In that case it seems like there is some credulity to this reputation of the pineal gland having a spiritual aspect after all.
I would agree with you aswell that not only dose the pineal gland regulate ower waking an sleeping hours an the circadian rhythms within animal but....dmt is endogenous 2 ower brains since its produced in the pineal gland so I do agree with u
You really should have a million subs
He does now :)
the chapelle show reference when talking about darkness though...im dead hahaha

Can you please explain the destruction of the pineal gland by fluoride? Thank you.
need that yes
wanna see explanations for that also. tired of seeing conspiracy people telling to stop this that but not telling why and how it actually affects pineal gland.
Since the pineal gland is not protected by the blood brain barrier and has the second largest blood supply right behind the kidneys it becomes very susceptible to chemicals metals and toxins including Fluoride/fluorine which is the most reactive metal on the table of elements as it is an electron hungry hog and will steal borrow and quench electrons, which is why it’s in many pharmaceutical drugs, bc it is so reactive and will get the job done for big pharma drugs catalyzing a reaction. However not the reaction that we want for optimal health…
accumulation of Ca or a result of Calcification within the pineal gland
Can you please talk a bit about DMT and the Pineal Glad?
DMT is a subset of melanin
@An Meme what
@@toz_dumann should have said melatonin not melanin (what makes skin dark). Never mind. Jokes should never be explained
@@toz_dumann the joke just flew past you bro lol
The lungs produces DMT
The Pineal Gland is also responsible for 3rd Eye in traditions and the boarder between Earth and Heaven.
How ??
Work well done prof Zack. But I think its 5 hydroxytryptophan thats converted into 5 hydroxytryptamine ...also called serotonin.
Thank you so much ❤
Great explained
vera Level Thala🔥🔥
Now it makes sense why I feel less energy when I don't have my glasses or contacts on. The amount of light is lessened there for melatonin is likelier to increase.

@@froglegs4910 now how can you explain waves with chemistry
@@tham4378 Most of all: waves - whether macro or quantum - can only be described mathematically since wave=form of energy-spreading, can be interpreted essentially as a movement, the simplest form of which is rotation/spin. Of course regarding Quantums (Q) it is still unclear what resonates - although they have elaborate math for Q fields which gives good predictions: at least QED (Q electro-dynamics) for EM (electro-magnetic) waves. All chemicals are made of matter-particles (fermions: quarks, electrons...) interact via wave-particles (bozons: photons, gluons....). No chemical reaction can occur without change in energy via EM waves....
The way I understand it is that there are cells in the eye not involved with seeing that can sense light and that these are the ones that stimulate/inhibit the pineal gland. However if you lose your eyes completely I would assume you would have issues with your circadian rhythm.
Most “blind people are not completely sightless, those that are can have sleep issues.

Wow thank you so much! Great lecture!!
Thank you. Nice discussion.
Great teachings.
So after the melatonin production in the pineal glad, does melatonin stimulate the SCN to stimulate medial dorsal hypothalamus (MDH) to stimulate the Preoptic area?
Fantastic description thanks :-)
I like your explanation in mostly layman terms. 👍🏾
You are so good man bravo
Super helpful, thankyou!
The great teacher Manly P Hall in secret teaching of all ages in chapter Hiramic legend says: Sufficient similarity exists between the masonic CHiram and the KUNDALINI of Hindu mysticism to warrant the assumption that CHiram may be considered A SYMBOL ALSO OF THE SPIRIT FIRE moving through the sixth ventricle of the SPINAL COLUMN. The exact science of HUMAN REGENERATION IS THE LOST KEY OF MASONRY, for when the Spirit Fire is lifted up through the thirty-three degrees, or segments of the Spinal Column, and enters into the domed chamber of the human skull, it finally passes into the pituitary body (Isis), where it invokes Ra (the pineal gland) and demands the Sacred Name. Operative Masonry, in the fullest meaning of that term, signifies the process by which the Eye of Horus is opened. E. A. Wallis Budge has noted that in some of the papyri illustrating the entrance of the souls of the dead into the judgment hall of Osiris the deceased person has a pine cone attached to the crown of his head.

How can you talk about the pineal gland without mention of the most important molecule known to mankind, DMT, which is the dream molecule, the death molecule, the life molecule the spirit molecule? So besides leaving out this controversial molecule, this was a great explanation; as usual, you are the best, thank you...
I was thinking the same 👍🏻
How is it possible to measure the amount of activity the pineal gland is working?
Because he and everyone in the comments have not factored into account the fact that his knowledge comes from a Text book. AND lets gets this straight textbooks are updated yearly because they are proven wrong all the time and in some cases , (for example: fluoride) they are wrong on purpose.
You cannot give a lecture on the most referenced gland in history (Egyptians, Mayans depictions ect) without mentioning DMT. It's simply disingenuous, along with the fact that he doesn't mention calcification of the gland.
I am not a Doctor just a skeptic.
@@pablostreams Furthermore, the pineal gland is not protected by the BBB, making it more susceptible to chemicals, metals, and the infamous fluoride, as fluorine is the most reactive element on the table. Controlling the pineal is their game. Can you guess their name? When they control our sacred eye, they control our dreams, telepathy, intuition, and inner vision; they make us easier to control and easier to be the working cog slave for the insidious pernicious machine...
Very good informative video,, Thank you
why is my pineal gland calcified? does the calcification go ON TOP of my pineal gland or does it REPLACE the cells of my pineal gland? I also have calcification in my basal ganglia. I would get horrible headaches during which I would hear auditory hallucinations, which is why they looked at my brain. Not one of the doctors who viewed my results were worried about the shining bright spots on my brain. Okay mr ninja brain guy, PLEASE PLEASE EXPLAIN THEIR NONCHALANCE ABOUT THIS.

It makes a ton of sense. Why is it not the first thing doctors look at when someone says autism? Many kids and adults on the spectrum have trouble with sleep, anxiety, stress and light sensitivity.
because our society is CORRUPT ; which includes the medical establishment and every other establishment that runs our society
they would rather sell you DRUGS thata make lots of money to help you sleep , help with depression, anxiety
I think autism to some degree is the result of production of dmt in the pineal gland as urinalysis shows elevated levels of the proteins that are biproducts of dmt production for most people tryptophan converts to 5htp i think do to differences in brain structure some of that 5htp is converted to a form of dmt instead
