Turning Abandoned Land into a Wasabi Garden | Off Grid Homestead

- On a remote subtropical island, somewhere on earth, you'll find our off grid homestead. We live in an old stone house, with three children, and produce our own electricity, water, and vegetables. With Shetland Geese, Chickens, Guinea Fowl, and two cats to care for, we're slowly transforming 5 acres of wild land into edible gardens. We have 15+ years of experience living this way, so we know a thing or two about how to make off grid living work through our own failures.
This week, we dive into our abandoned Tropical Garden and create a Wasabi Garden in the natural spring that flows through the land.
We would be really grateful for any support through our Ko-Fi page, or subscribe to our Patreon, so that we can save money for future projects.

Great watch. One of my fav episodes of New lives in the wild was your one. What an incedible place to live.
thank you for saying so 🙏🏼 ☺️
Looks good. Have you had fruit off your seed avocado tree yet. Watching from New Zealand. I also live on 5 acres but it is mostly paddocks for the horses. But still grow veg and have a few fruit trees. Grew tamarillos a few years ago and they did well. I have taro growing but have never eaten it so will give it a try.
we actually haven't, though it makes so many flowers, but that's because it needs a friend or two. The avocado fruit trees we bought I think will need replacing, due to the flooding from the stream. I think I will plant a few Hass Avocados in this area. We have Tamarillos too, they are so delicious 🤤
Do you have any pineapple plants? They may grow in your area also. They seem to do well here in Hawaii at higher elevation.
Yes 😊 though, they are now in a little too much shade, and I'm really not looking forward to re-planting elsewhere. Love pineapples, but I really hate dealing with the plants on our terrain 🏔️
Hi, How much costa an avocado tree there?
around 40 euros 🌲
Thx, what kind of fruit trees have you plant in tour land?
Where is this?
