That's a lot of questions Dipika! 😄 Will try to answer: 1. Tourist visa 2. If you are staying at friend/family place then their address proof is reqd (along with mention of stay in cover letter). 3. You can check this on VFS site once you create your login. 4. That's not needed. You can always change your itinerary post getting Schengen visa! So stick to one itinerary for now. 5. Minimum of €100/night stay should be there. Yes, FDs do count. You can include them if your balance is not that high. 6. NOC letter should mention that you're on holiday and your leaves have been approved. Refrain from adding details that you would be working from there. Hope this helps!

In that case, you need to mention person's details in the cover letter. Do include sponsorship letter from the person that s/he will be providing you with accomodation and rest of expenses. You will need to include their bank statement as well.

Assuming 'we' is you & your family, depending on if you're sponsoring everyone's trip cost, 3L may not be enough for Schengen visa. Try to have 3-5L/trip member!

You should apply for Multiple entry Schengen visa as both of your travel to Schengen countries is 1.5 month apart. Do mention your complete travel plan in cover letter & respective flight/hotel bookings.
Actually we are planning to visit Swiss in December (3 members) for tourism. Among 3 , two of them did not file ITR due to salary constraints.. So in this case apart from ITR which document they need to suffice? Also for salaried employees, do we need to show funds or else just salary pay slips are enough?
Bank statement is required for all type of Schengen visa application. So in your case also it's needed ( should be sealed & signed by bank). Though ITR is a required document, in case it's not there, do mention in cover letter for the reason. Rest Salary slip, HR letter & bank statement should suffice. Hope this helps!

It might be tricky in that case. If you have next contractual work already with you then you can attach that while applying for Schengen visa. This will show that you would come back to India and not stay there looking for job.
Schengen visa application time duration varies depending on the time of the year. For e.g once it was 45 days for us and every embassy mentions the current processing time on their site. In general, Two month advance should be safe enough!

In such case, you would still need Schengen tourist visa. If you're travel date for Christmas is finalized then you should include the detailed plan along with your current itinerary

In such case get a NOC that mentions your work and how this is a non paid job. Also since you're not earning at the moment, you will have to get sponsorship for your travel.

Definitely add FD documents along with bank statements. Since you mom & dad hold bank balance independently, they can apply individually but mention in cover letter that they are travelling with each other. This is what we do (mentioning each other's name along with passport details in cover letter). Hope this helps!

If parents are retired then they don't have to submit ITR. They need to mention in the cover letter about this and add bank statement to show that they have enough funds to travel to Europe. Submit flight details from India to the country and then to the Schengen and back to India. If they already have visa for that country then submit copy of that as well.

Best would be to get your Schengen visa while in current company! If you've funds then best to include your own bank statement or FD/MF etc. If you can't check if your immediate relative (parents/siblings) can sponsor your trip. You will have to attach sponsorship letter along with their bank statement. Friend's sponsorship should be the last resort and should be avoided.

Ideally for her holding Schengen visa option wouldn't be applicable. While submitting the documents at VFS centre, do mention this for your wife's application and they should be able to make changes (if required)!

Salary was credited 5 days before the visa appointment which is enough for the trip. But before that my bank balance was 25000. Most of my bank savings are in FDs. Please guide in this situation.
For Schengen visa, along with Bank statement, you could also include savings like FD, MF documents to show enough balance. If you have already included them, then no worries!

In this case, you will have to show by some mean to the embassy folks that you have reasonable reason to come back to India & not look for employment in Europe. ITR can be filed for past years else if you have form 16, that can be included.

Looks like either you missed some documents or didn't have documents that give them the sense that you would come back to India. Do go through your submitted documents (like HR letter, proper itinerary, sufficient bank statement, ITRs, Salary slip etc.) and can reapply if you feel they made a mistake (but do include more supporting documents).

For some Schengen countries, they have process to first fill the Schengen visa form online and pay the Schengen Visa fee there itself. At VFS, you will have to pay VFS agency cost. But in some countries, Visa fee & VFS fees needs to be paid at VFS. It changes time to time!
Single or multiple entry Schengen visa would depend on your travel itinerary. If during your single visit, you come out of Schengen area and re-enter in Schengen area then you would need multiple entry Schengen visa!

Yes it's legit & they provide verifiable flight tickets. Since they are verifiable, there is no issue for Schengen visa. Validity of these tickets are usually till the date of travel.

Our recommendation would be to mention everything in the cover letter & submit necessary documents as well. For hotels, refundable bookings are perfectly fine for Schengen visa. We do the same! For bank statement, usually €100/night is required. Since you have itinerary for 60 days in Schengen area, would recommend to have bank balance of around 6-10Lakh. Hope this helps!
You mean only bank statements and no other financial documents (like ITR, sal slip etc )? For Schengen visa, you need to attach all the documents mentioned in video.
If your sister is sponsoring your Schengen travel, then a sponsorship letter mentioning her relation with you & sponsoring your trip with her sign would be needed. Along with that include her bank statement & any relationship proof that you would have.
Hi @rollingfeertales ..: I am going via travel agent but we only receive the hotel confirmation and flight tickets for now since my travel date is of Dec 2024… My visa date is on 12th July… so confirmed flight tickets and confirmed hotel reservation will suffice or do we need to provide train tickets??? For Schengen visa, Flight & hotel bookings would be sufficient. Train tickets usually are refundable so if you're taking train for internal transfers then try to include them! Yes, it would be good to give copy of your Australia visa along with your Schengen visa application!

Hello I am preparing to apply for my first Schengen Visa, itinerary planned : Switzerland -> Germany -> France -> Switzerland. I am visiting my Family and Friends in all the places, kindly helps with the following:
1) Type of visa - tourist or visitor?
2) What details do I need to provide for each stay - is address enough?
3) How to check VFS dates before applying?
4) In case I may want to visit places not already planned and mentioned in my cover letter (eg amsterdam/netherlands) will that be allowed or is it an issue?
5) How much bank balance should I show for a 4 week trip? Does FD count or only Savings Bank balance?
6) Can I get work from home while my stay there or should it be a full holiday, like what should be mentioned on my letter from employer

That's a lot of questions Dipika! 😄 Will try to answer:
1. Tourist visa
2. If you are staying at friend/family place then their address proof is reqd (along with mention of stay in cover letter).
3. You can check this on VFS site once you create your login.
4. That's not needed. You can always change your itinerary post getting Schengen visa! So stick to one itinerary for now.
5. Minimum of €100/night stay should be there. Yes, FDs do count. You can include them if your balance is not that high.
6. NOC letter should mention that you're on holiday and your leaves have been approved. Refrain from adding details that you would be working from there.

You can reapply for the visa, however do see for what reason the visa was refused. You would have to address that in the next application.

In that case, you need to mention person's details in the cover letter. Do include sponsorship letter from the person that s/he will be providing you with accomodation and rest of expenses. You will need to include their bank statement as well.

You could tweak your itinerary a bit to show more nights in Germany for Schengen visa purpose! Later once you have Schengen visa, you can change as per your original plan!

Yes you can book these properties as well! It's not mandatory to have pre paid accomodations. However, you would have to show that you have enough funds to pay for it later.

Assuming 'we' is you & your family, depending on if you're sponsoring everyone's trip cost, 3L may not be enough for Schengen visa. Try to have 3-5L/trip member!

You will have to get Schengen visa (assuming you have Indian passport) in order to visit Paris & Switzerland.
You should apply for Multiple entry Schengen visa as both of your travel to Schengen countries is 1.5 month apart. Do mention your complete travel plan in cover letter & respective flight/hotel bookings.
Actually we are planning to visit Swiss in December (3 members) for tourism. Among 3 , two of them did not file ITR due to salary constraints.. So in this case apart from ITR which document they need to suffice?
Also for salaried employees, do we need to show funds or else just salary pay slips are enough?
Bank statement is required for all type of Schengen visa application. So in your case also it's needed ( should be sealed & signed by bank).
Though ITR is a required document, in case it's not there, do mention in cover letter for the reason. Rest Salary slip, HR letter & bank statement should suffice.

It might be tricky in that case. If you have next contractual work already with you then you can attach that while applying for Schengen visa. This will show that you would come back to India and not stay there looking for job.

Schengen visa application time duration varies depending on the time of the year. For e.g once it was 45 days for us and every embassy mentions the current processing time on their site. In general, Two month advance should be safe enough!

In such case, you would still need Schengen tourist visa. If you're travel date for Christmas is finalized then you should include the detailed plan along with your current itinerary

In such case get a NOC that mentions your work and how this is a non paid job. Also since you're not earning at the moment, you will have to get sponsorship for your travel.

Hello just a query regarding the ( Income tax return ) My dad and mom are travelling to Europe on tourist visa in June so while checking the documents list for Visa applications they require proof of Income which is ITR form but my dad has a total income of around 3.5-4.5 Lakhs and same for my mother and they also have a monthly average bank balance of around 3 Lakhs each currently They also hold Fixed Deposit of around 50 Lakh each So First question is with so low total income in ITR will it be a concern or given a sufficient bank balance its ok and should i attached Fixed deposit statement

Definitely add FD documents along with bank statements.
Since you mom & dad hold bank balance independently, they can apply individually but mention in cover letter that they are travelling with each other. This is what we do (mentioning each other's name along with passport details in cover letter).

Yes, your fiance will have to attach a letter signed by you that has mention that s/he is going to visit you. You should also include your address proof in France. In case you're also sponsoring the trip, then bank statement would be needed. Do include if you have any proof of s/he being your fiance (engagement card/photos etc)!

Schengen visa requirement is that they need ITR to establish that you're a lawful citizen of India and have been paying your taxes! Also, it acts as your financial proof along with your bank statement!

If parents are retired then they don't have to submit ITR. They need to mention in the cover letter about this and add bank statement to show that they have enough funds to travel to Europe.
Submit flight details from India to the country and then to the Schengen and back to India. If they already have visa for that country then submit copy of that as well.

Best would be to get your Schengen visa while in current company! But if you can't, you should mention in your cover letter that you're on a break and plan to travel for a while before joining work again. If you've funds then best to include your own bank statement or FD/MF etc. If you can't check if your immediate relative (parents/siblings) can sponsor your trip. You will have to attach sponsorship letter along with their bank statement. Friend's sponsorship should be the last resort and should be avoided.

Ideally for her holding Schengen visa option wouldn't be applicable. While submitting the documents at VFS centre, do mention this for your wife's application and they should be able to make changes (if required)!

Salary was credited 5 days before the visa appointment which is enough for the trip. But before that my bank balance was 25000.
Most of my bank savings are in FDs. Please guide in this situation.
For Schengen visa, along with Bank statement, you could also include savings like FD, MF documents to show enough balance. If you have already included them, then no worries!

Hi I'm planning to visit Italy and Switzerland. Currently I'm woking as a contractual employee in a central government firm. It is clear that i don't get NOC from there and also I'm planning to resign before going to Europe. I have filled ITR for this (24-25)financial year only. It is mandatory to fill ITR for 3 FY(it is possible to fill Previous years ITRs by paying some fee right?) .

In this case, you will have to show by some mean to the embassy folks that you have reasonable reason to come back to India & not look for employment in Europe.
ITR can be filed for past years else if you have form 16, that can be included.

I don't think you can apply for a long or short Schengen visa! Basis your travel history they either give you short one or long one Schengen visa. No separate process for the same.

Looks like either you missed some documents or didn't have documents that give them the sense that you would come back to India.
Do go through your submitted documents (like HR letter, proper itinerary, sufficient bank statement, ITRs, Salary slip etc.) and can reapply if you feel they made a mistake (but do include more supporting documents).

visa fee has to be paid to vfs even in case of france, how can you say that it can be paid online?
For some Schengen countries, they have process to first fill the Schengen visa form online and pay the Schengen Visa fee there itself. At VFS, you will have to pay VFS agency cost. But in some countries, Visa fee & VFS fees needs to be paid at VFS. It changes time to time!

Yes, that's fine. You would mention this in your itinerary. Or see if you can show any other mode of travel (bus or car rentals - usually they are refundable) for your Schengen visa!

Yes it's legit & they provide verifiable flight tickets. Since they are verifiable, there is no issue for Schengen visa. Validity of these tickets are usually till the date of travel.

What’s the process for an infant (7months old baby) Schengen visa?
It's the usual process of applying. Only thing changes is to submit his/her birth certificate, copy of parents' passport. You should also mention in your Schengen visa application cover letter that you're travelling with your baby (along with details).

Would you please answer below doubts for me: I want to apply for a Schengen visa so that I can travel to Paris and apply for "The French Foreign Legion" (French Army) and usually once I show up in their main office I get free accommodation and meals until my whole training and final exam period (3 weeks); and Yes, they do accept Schengen visa but my main question here is, should I mention about this on my cover letter or not? and let's say I have an itinerary of 2 months so, even if I book refundable hotels and tickets (Assuming I will ask for refunds once admitted to the FFL office) is 3L enough on the bank statement? and if there is anything you can guide me with please feel free Thanks :)
Our recommendation would be to mention everything in the cover letter & submit necessary documents as well.
For hotels, refundable bookings are perfectly fine for Schengen visa. We do the same!
For bank statement, usually €100/night is required. Since you have itinerary for 60 days in Schengen area, would recommend to have bank balance of around 6-10Lakh.

You mean only bank statements and no other financial documents (like ITR, sal slip etc )? For Schengen visa, you need to attach all the documents mentioned in video.

If your sister is sponsoring your Schengen travel, then a sponsorship letter mentioning her relation with you & sponsoring your trip with her sign would be needed. Along with that include her bank statement & any relationship proof that you would have.
Hi @rollingfeertales ..: I am going via travel agent but we only receive the hotel confirmation and flight tickets for now since my travel date is of Dec 2024… My visa date is on 12th July… so confirmed flight tickets and confirmed hotel reservation will suffice or do we need to provide train tickets??? We only have now 20% of the amount to the travel agent since train tickets are non refundable.

For Schengen visa, Flight & hotel bookings would be sufficient. Train tickets usually are refundable so if you're taking train for internal transfers then try to include them!

You can show any relatives (parents) sponsoring your trip. You will have to include their bank statement along with a signed letter that mentions that they are sponsoring your trip.
Is that important to Enter and exit the country that issues a visa? ( when we show tickets to the VFS office )
At the time of Schengen visa application at VFS, you will have to show either maximum number of nights stay in the country or entry to the country if night spends are equal.
