- The reception of hundreds of clergy and laity of the former Evangelical Orthodox Church into Holy Orthodoxy at the hands of Metropolitan PHILIP in February of 1987. Includes interviews with several of the newly received clergy.
My parish just received almost 20 new catechumens this past October. Let’s Keep unplugging America from the matrix of heresy !
Claro , hay buen dinero en USA, pero no han logrado convencer a la gente de su pa´s de origen.
I know this video is old, but it is a glorious consolation to me. 30 years of indepedent research led me to precisely the same conclusion, but because I found nobody who supported me, I often wondered whether I had been wrong. But now in the twilight years of my life this video confirms that God guided me and I can happily transmit my writings to my 2 lads who, I trust, will fully embrace this truth and bring many into the true church as this dispensation draws to its tragic end.
God bless you, brother
Former Roman catholic Now Orthodox...I am home finally
Hi brother. Interested to hear more about your writing. The Lord be with you. Stephanos
Thank you. Today I became a catechumen at a church that had been started into the Evangelical Orthodox Church. My only regret is that I hadn't done the deep dive into Church History and Theology sooner, the journey that led me to Orthodoxy.
What brave men and women who started in recent times this movement of Protestants to Orthodoxy. Once a person seeking communion with God discovers the Truth of Orthodoxy, the soul won't let go of it. If you've wondered what apostles in the 20th century looked like, watch this video. AXIOS!
Need this in Australia. So that people of ALL NATIONS can be able to experience the TRUE CHURCH. We need to do more work to make this happen . GOD BLESS THE ANTIOCHIAN ARCHDIOCESE.
Amin may God have mercy on us
Hey, thanks! It is good to be home in the holy orthodox church. My own journey led me here in 2018; a journey of many decades of belief in our lord without adequate guidance. I am so grateful to be a member of tha Antioch Community
Welcome home indeed, someone who’s lived in this great country over 20 years, came from Georgia, Europe at age 16love this country as much my Georgia and believe one day Whole America becomes orthodox Christian
Amin brother ☦️
great ☦️
Omgosh!!! My husband was ordained a Deacon then!!!
That's awesome 😎
Amazing. Their hearts were open to the Truth. Glory to God!
I have the books by both Fr. Peter Gillquist and Fr. Gordon Walker. Fascinating reading. You can't possibly miss the Holy Spirit's guidance in the mass journey of so many to Orthodox Christianity and you see a genuine search for the Truth. Like the Gospels, there's overlap between the two authors so you get see two perspectives on the same events.
My own personal journey to Orthodoxy started with relocating to the region where Sts. Herman, Innocent, Juvenaly, Peter the Aleut, & Iakov once tread.
Do you go to St. John's?
@@musclvr377 No, I'm out on the AKPEN.
@@stevecochran9078 is that Alaska Peninsula? I'm in Eagle river. :)
I knew both Fr. Peter and Fr. Gordon. Wonderful men and leaders.
Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us sinners, have mercy on the Orthodox everywhere☦☦☦

Truly, Welcome Home
I have heard that the Antiochians are the most welcoming jurisdiction.
Saying this with the outmost hesitation....but let's Hope the newly Received people will Not Want to Change Holy Orthodoxy to suit them....it's So difficult to change old habits.....would they want to "Impose" what they know to their newly found Home?? Or would they simply, humbly accept the new Home? Western/American way of Upbringing and thinking is SO Different to the Eastern way of life........It's been my experience that when Western people turn to Orthodoxy, at some point they try to change things.....they try to change what has been preserved for 2000 years by nations that have suffered real, continuous persecutions, killings, invasions, communism, terrorism....i hope this does not happen.....just a thought.
Its been nearly 40 years since the events described in the video.
Just got to say, lookin real jim Jones there buddy.
where can i find the chant at the end?
@@mickdomingo7276 i know. i was looking for the particular recording
@@met.groyper7060 but then you answered your own question. "At the end". You could try and get download it trough yt to mp3 converter online. Some of them allow you to enter beginning and end time you want.
@met.groyper7060
It's, Trisagion Hymn by David Wey, originally used at Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Ben Lomand, CA.
@met.groyper7060 The printed music lists the publisher, Melodist, 1146 South Richland, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Ask for The Trisagion Hymn by David Wey.
Bring it to the world.

I'm happy that people are coming to orthodoxy. If the EOC would have been brought in as individuals properly taught in the faith the Ben Loman tragedy would have been avoided. The blame against the ecumenical patriarch for not bringing them enmass is wrong, that's how it should have been done. Poorly prepared priests who didn't fast before liturgy, singing protestant songs at liturgy, resulted because of Met. Philip rushing them in to prop up a shrinking jurisdiction. It set them back years in developing a proper phromena and pushed anti-ethnic ideology worrying about non-existent phylitism and syncretism while scrubbing the beauty of Syrian/ Lebanese orthodoxy from the liturgy.
What is the "Ben Loman tragedy"?
What's with the Roman Rite Catholic collar ? Are you from the Byzantine Rite with the Pope of Rome ?
Unfortunately, there’s many eastern orthodox priests who wear this collar.
@@marksafady1059 Confusion !
It is a western collar, not RC. I.
These people bring enthusiasm and evangelism to bring Orthodoxy to Americans of all ethnic groups, as Christ commanded his apostles.
@@cw4karlschulte661 I'm Roman Catholic and sorry this is yes western Catholic. Eastern Rite with the Pope do have it as well yet use other vestments as well . This collar was used under Vatican 1 to identify the Roman Catholic Priest.
May the Lord bless Metropolitan Philip of blessed memory and bless his mission to convert America to Orthodoxy. The producers of this film should be aware that some Muscovites are creating divisions in the Antiochian churches between cradle and converts and are bad-mouthing the memory of Metropolitan Philip to converts. The Muscovites don’t want an American Orthodox Patriarch any more than a Patriarch of Kyiv Rus’! They feel that they own America, just like Ukraine. Read about “Russkie Mir.”
Absolutely crazy propaganda that you are spewing. Moscow recognises the OCA autocephaly while the EP doesn’t! And the EP is the reason the OCA doesn’t have complete jurisdictional authority in America.
The Greek jurisdiction is larger than all the combined OCA or Antiochian parishes. Trying to force a false NA patriarchate rather than allow it to coalesce organically is wrong. It's pretty apparent that much of the Antiochian propaganda is pushed because their plan is to be the NA patriarchate, a vanilla lifeless movement void of the beauty of praxis and phromena. My suggestion is that they focus on becoming internally Orthodox first rather than white washed tombs. Listen, the Greeks, ROCOR, and OCA aren't perfect but us American converts can learn the how to live as orthodox from the ethnic parishes. Be concerned about unity at the chalice, everything else will come together in God's timing. It takes generations to grow, not just 30 years. Organically not forced.
God bless the Orthodox Church, unto ages of ages.
