Tbh, a lot of the concept art for Halo would’ve made for a better story. I’d essentially be a mix between what we have now, a little bit of Halo 5 + a whole new narrative where the UNSC & Arbiter are working together to stop Cortana, who at the moment is using her Prometheans to invade Doisac, in which the Banished are retaliating. But with that in mind, it would’ve been a much larger game story wise. And supposedly they didn’t have enough time to make all of it ‘cause people kept leaving.
I don't really agree, 343 gave up on trying to make a good story that has a lot of moving plot points and just made the good parts of halo 4s story the whole story and just continuing 5 probably would not really turn out well. Buuuuuut I understand if people don't like that either.
I think I saw the art you're talking about. I'm holding out hope one of the inevitable campaign DLCs will be an arbiter focused one where he has a set of totally different abilities to switch through.
The endlessly repeated forerunner rooms across what should be different facilities that were each designed differently in each halo game that came before And the almost pointless open world that essentially feels completely separate from the campaign with a bunch of repeated objectives you don’t want to repeat in successive playthoughs, really just kill any desire for me to want to replay infinite. The sandbox and ai is great surpassing a lot of what the franchise has done in the past but it feels so under-utilised especially compared to the encounters and battles we had in previous games. As for the story it’s everything cool happened 6 months ago you get to have some of the left over crumbs.
So I guess any semi dead fps franchise is up for a soft reboot now. Imagine the possibilities, Quake Unlimited, Turok Immortal, Kill Zone Unending, Haze Immeasurable. Tons of reboots with a subtitle implying the series will last a long time waiting to happen.
I did the same first playthrough, I wouldn't have bothered with the other abilities at all but I realized you could use the dash to make your grapple leaps go further.
This was a genuinely fantastic video man, loved this analysis and your edits are better than god tier! 11:20 had me genuinely laughing lol, you definitely got a new subscriber
The true tragedy of the example you presented is that the doom slayer destroyed the argent energy generator out of defiance it is a moment that defines his character, he’s not some protagonist that takes orders at the best interest or masters that are possibly evil(spoilers: the doom slayer has a reason to dislike the very obviously evil villain) and master chief just did what he has been written to do best and that’s break shit. One is good character writing and one is just a reference that failed to retain the thematic importance of the original.
Extremely enjoyable to watch as always, my PC can't run infinite so I was worried about the game since my lazy ass never bothered to look into it but this looks like a great step forward for the franchise in the combat. Inshallah this will get refined more. Great video baby darling
Yeah, the game runs really poorly on older hardware, it's annoying. It doesn't look all that graphically intensive on the surface and the free to play multiplayer feels a whole lot less free when you need a current-ish build to get good frames.
THE KING IS BACK LONG LIVE THE KING (welcome back, vid was good, increased my psychic aptitude by 3. devil survivor when? when devil survivor? devil survivor whe--)
as usual your editing is top tier, and i can't tell whether you've been doing this since you were a teenager and have a degree in it or if you picked up premiere and started just doing shit as you thought of it. it's a certain level of avant garde that rides a fine line between "i know everything i'm doing and all of this is intentional" and "i have no idea as to what i'm doing and it's just coming out like this" it's unconventional, i love it. like, i legit want to write an essay on your editing style. like, every time i watch a video of yours i'm enthralled by the editing and i keep recommending you to friends purely because of it. no comment on halo also i'm not a fan of the franchise, but you're entertaining enough to make a non-fan sit through a whole video, so
For me its a shame they fell flat on the linear levels, 343 finally made enemies that are fun to shoot at, but they never get to experiment with these enemies in the levels or take advantage of level gimmicks, while ce has copy and pasted rooms that can’t be defended, ce did its best to mix things up with its enemy usage
I think I was going to say something about it at one point but couldn't figure out a concise way to put how I felt. The music sounds halo-y enough, with a lot of the new OST being CE remixes, but it's all very subdued. In previous games there were set pieces where it felt like the soundtrack was like 30%+ of what was going on in the stage, if that makes sense. In infinite I forgot the music was even playing most of the time. It's a jarring direction for the music to take when the combat enables so much speed and aggro now.
the repulsor would be a bad addition to the campaign as it would trivialize the combat even MORE on top of the grapple shots all purpose get out of jail free card, itd be way too powerful against the banisheds arsenal. there is a time when halos design encounter of play how you want can go too far and bungie themselves were aware of this back then hence why equipment was single use and power ups were purposefully placed in crucial areas that you may not understand immediately what you could do with them in the situation. armor abilities were created to test what they wanted to make for destiny so that one doesnt count
imo I think you're being way too soft on the mediocre side of Halo, specifically Halo 2, Reach and now Infinite. I can understand them being way more preferable to 5's campaign (and any other entry that isn't a FPS) but Infinite feels more of the same, as well as being a fast-pace twitch shooter, rather than something that resembles Halo; which I think it's at it's best when it uses slower and more methodical strategy-based gameplay when it works. What killed the campaign for me in Infinite is the obnoxiously overused open world song and dance, that every game apparently has to have these days. In summary: Reach is mediocre, Halo 2 was a rushed scramble and a mess, finally Infinite is a monotonous combination of uninspired trends. Even watching your negative points about the campaigns, I still think you're too forgiving.
2 was rushed yes but not a scrambled mess, the campaign was already figured out for the most part just that the third act was turned into halo 3. and by no means was it mediocre, it deserves its masterpiece moniker. I dont think infinite plays like a twitch shooter quite how we know it but it does have some symptoms of one

You made me play the OG trilogy, so now i will give a try to this version of skyrim with guns(and aliens)(2022)
Burn down the Ring to cripple the Grunt economy.
Watching a foul energy vid when it comes out
>it's real
I'd love a halo game where the main threat is just a really big grunt, it'd be really funny
yap yap and he pilots a goblin
The banished are funny
Who knows Maybe they will finally add in the behemoths who were cut from 2 games
Atleast they are in a novel
What I got out of this video is that I should probably get off my ass and play the doom reboots soon, they look fun.
I've been playing Eternal regularly since it launched two years ago lmao. Definitely recommend.
Whenever I hear Rayman 2 music being used I feel overwhelming nostalgic ecstacy.
Redial AND Q's theme? Good taste in music. This is the only Halo Infinite video I've had any interest in.

The grappling hook makes up for so many flaws this game has, it's ludicrous
That pilot breathing joke was genious, subbed!

Yep it sure looks infinite, just like BioShock infinite. Every game with infinite in it's name always comes out okay but a little disappointing.
