These 5 reasons sum up why we have chosen to homeschool our 5 kids. There are so many options out there for how we can choose to educate our kids! I am personally the product of private school and public school and I like to think I turned out ok ;) Each mom, who does it differently than we do, could compile her own wonderful list of reasons for why they choose to educate their kids the way they do. This is just ours :)

I think one of the biggest reason for homeschooling can be that when kids go to school they can often, understandably become homegenised - they change to fit in, they like what their friends like etc. When they are at home they can develop their personalities more.

Beautiful video! Very well explained. It shows how much you love and value your family 😁. I was homeschooled by my mom for a short amount of time towards the end of middle school because I was heavily bullied to the point where I felt I was in danger at school. I then did program which allowed me to graduate high school faster and was able to graduate at 16. I remember feeling so much more at peace at home. Unfortunately, many kids can be very cruel, especially if they're being abused at home and carry that baggage with them to school. If I ever have kids I would love to homeschool them as well. It just feels more natural and allows for amazing & safe bonding. Thanks for sharing!

Something that maybe they know isn’t right. It gives us the opportunity to share the embarrassing things because we know each other deeply from spending our days and nights together.

Because I don’t understand algebra and they are going through it faster then I can understand. I ask questions and they don’t explain what I want to know they always assume

At first, I thought... "Oh no! My kids are never going to be homeschooled. They'll be unprepared for the real world, and unsociable. Plus, I don't have what it take to teach them like a teacher can! No way." But now, I have researched and explored the many different options if homeschooling, and alternatives for regular school... Plus the benefits they hold. I already decided I want to stay at home and work from home as a writer, but now I want to homeschool my kids too. I want to spend more time and be in charge of their learning more. I want to make more time for fun things, and sum up the average school day into just about 3 to 4 hours of mainly learning to create time for other things in their lives. I know they would miss out on dances and events but I know we would be able to find ways to have fun together. I would probably send them to regular school in high school though, just because I think prom is really special and I want them to experience that, but I'm not sure. I also don't know if I would want to hire a tutor to teach my kids at our home, just so that it's not all on me.. or if I want to take full control of everything. Either way, I want my kids to receive an education from home, our home specifically. I'm excited 😊💝

Ivelisse Bout May I suggest Abeka or BJU video lessons. Both companies have teachers teaching through video lessons. We just finished kindergarten with Abeka. My little one loves it. She loves the teacher and feels part of the class she is teaching. Look into it. If you’d like. Pricey but I wanted to ensure my daughter had a solid phonics foundation. You can Also look into The good & the beautiful & all about reading. There’s bookshark secular and timberdoole and for free easy peace homeschool ... how to teach your child to read in a hundred easy lessons, reading pathways etc. just do research there is lots out there.

Hi Ivelisse! There are so many resources out there! First, I would encourage you to begin by finding out what your state laws are concerning homeschooling. I know here in VA there is a website that answers so many of those questions for us HEAV.org Most of your work will come in the form of online research. If you're interested in a co-op (a group of homeschoolers that meets weekly) just do some searches online! And the same goes with curriculum. I have some videos that talk about the curriculums we use :) Hope that helps give you a start! :)

This is the first video I watch of Ur channel and I completely agree, I think homeschooling is an amazing way to teach our kids respect, good morals, N values which is something public schools lack... Another excellent reason to homeschool is to protect our kids from bullies... Lots of schools dnt like to talk about it, but my kids come home every day crying telling me how they got bullied... My dream was to be the only caregiver of my kids N homeschool them, but as a single mom of 3 I have to go out N work... But maybe in the future I will homeschool... A public school education is nothing but a one-size-fits-all education. I went to public school back in the 1960's. The classes were just to large and I had emotional problems as well. I was always crying in class and yelling at the teachers. After fourth grade, I went to special education school, and the classes were much smaller. I gradually calmed down and I had much more respect for the teachers as well. After all, back in the 60's, there were no special education programs in the public schools.
In my opinion, the public schools are being run by both the state and Federal governments. Public school teachers simply don't have the time to deal with special needs; as well as give them the individualized attention that they need. And she's right about one thing; that all kids don't learn at the same level. Teachers are under a lot of pressure to form up to state and Federal standards. They have to teach what they are told to teach, and they have to teach it in such a short period of time.
She is also right about another thing. And that is that she doesn't have to ask the school for permission to take her kids in vacation, to have a doctor's appointment, or even to bring in a doctor's note of the child. They act as though they don't trust the parents and take their word for what they say. Unfortunately, all schools have strict attendance policies. They determine which absences are excused and unexcused. Depending upon their policies, if the kids are not in school, the parents are notified and/or a letter is sent home. If they miss a whole lot of school, the parents can be charged with truancy. Here in Pennsylvania, where I live at, kids have to be in school 180 days a year. If the attendance is down, it affects their school funding.
I also don't like what the schools are teaching these kids. They want to teach them the history of LGBTQ people, the LGBTQ lifestyles, have drag queen story hours at their public libraries, learning sex education from Planned Parenthood, and
