The Fastest Characters In Gaming Ever 5
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лис 2023
- Throughout the history of gaming, we have seen characters move around at just about every different type of speed you could possibly think of, ranging from super-slow heavy hitters to lightning-fast ninjas; truly, when it comes to how quickly you move your legs, no other medium comes close to the diversity found in video games.
However, as much the creators try, true equality is something that can never be fully achieved, and in many cases, the faster characters tend to be the best in their respective games.
Usually in The Most Powerful Characters In Gaming Ever series, I either focus on characters that are the strongest statistically and/or dominate their game. But for this, I decide to focus purely on speed and nothing else.

To give you some perspective of how fast 4000 km/h is, that’s faster than the SR-71 Blackbird, the fastest aircraft driven with a mechanical jet engine.
4:54 Good God I needed that laugh!
lol umm it was a egg-cellent joke!!!
I'll see my way out...
There's a glitch in the original Doom that makes pinkies so fast, they can run up to you and bite you to death in a single frame. I believe there's also a glitch that can do the exact opposite - make them so slow it takes literal minutes for them to move just a few feet.
Side note: I still find it strange that young me was so terrified of pinkies, I refused to play Doom without god mode on for the longest time.
You should check out CGN's AGDQ speedrun of F Zero GX back in 2014. Turns out that "go off the track for a speed boost" trick can not only be used almost anywhere, on any track with a flat enough surface...the speed boost can also be conserved without wrecking your vehicle. And it's _extremely_ hard to do. Sometimes the dude does it just for fun, even though it's not a marathon-friendly trick in the slightest.
One of the coolest speedruns you'll ever see, I guarantee it.
4:49 Can I get "Whoisthisgit out of context" for 300 Alex?
I was pleasantly surprised to see footage of Sparkster on here!
Totally agree!! That was awesome! And funny as heck xD
I never heard of sparkster until now 😆
@@AmeliaBerdel-xv3wp I'm not surprised :c not much is said about him, but those games deserves more love, Rocket Knight Adventure (Sparkster) is a hidden gem from Konami 💛🧡❤️
@@tntmoxy9697 yeah, that's true; some game might be a hidden gem for people that never heard of it until they see it😆
I was pleasantly surprised to see footage of Landstalker on here!
4:54
there’s your out of context quote, lads
I got that Majora's Mask glitch by accident too! Nice seeing someone else talking about it.
I have a little more to add to that, actually: it doesn't just affect human Link's speed. In fact, it seems like the glitch mixes up the speed of Link's forms for some reason? I remember Deku Link getting really slow afterward. I think maybe the reason human Link is so fast is because he somehow got Deku Link's speed?
Sega getting plenty of shoutouts in this one, including the ChuChu Rocket music at the start. Nice.
Geez, I haven't thought about "Landstalker" in nearly two decades. I don't think I've ever seen this game brought up anywhere.
Oh shit, Grandia 2.
13:35 - To be fair, I am pretty sure he was an afterthought in the original release, with the real final boss being one of the things you fight before it. I've heard that Steam re-release adds Hard mode which soups up bosses here and there, including giving Zera stupid high ACT.
Multi part boss battles in Grandia pretty much boil down to "AoE the boss to death before it tries to do so to your party". In the first game, AoE's kept delaying all the parts, giving you more then enough space to land more and more AoE's (and often win without the boss getting a turn). AoE's also delayed the parts in Grandia 2 (but the boss could still fight back).
As for Zera Valmar, he got super buffed on the Hard difficulty introduced in the remaster (the buff gave him that absurd speed, and more then doubled his HP).
On the normal difficulty (or original versions of the game), yep, he's a total weaksauce final boss.
One racing game I remember was Hypersonic Extreme for PS2, its racing machines moving in excess of 4000 MPH or so. This, combined with a track editor, lead to many amusing races.
Hey @whoisthisgit,
I have an idea for your next Fastest Characters video.
Warriors Orochi 1: Ling Tong has the fastest attacks in the whole game out of everyone, but have max 20 Impulse as one of your team abilities (Impulse increases team speed), have max 10 Agility on his weapon (Agility increases attack speed) and have Hideyoshi Toyotomi in your team and use his speed buff.
Ling Tong becomes EVEN FASTER, so fast you can barely control him, it's INSANE but awesome! XD
Dodrio in Pokemon Unite can get up to extremely high speeds.
Tidus in Dissidia Final fantasy as well as Dissidia 012 can achieve truly amazing speeds with his EX-mode.
According to the wiki, Joshu in Jojo bizzare adventure eyes of heaven can achieve the fastest movement speed in the game under the right circumstances.
and lastly, In One Piece Pirate warriors 4, DLC character Yamato can move exeteremely fast with her WolfGirl transformation, that also give her unlinited dash gauge.
Whenever I hear the Grandia II Final Boss theme, I think of the fight with Dr. Wily in an old Flash game called Mega Man NEXT. He's not even that hard to defeat in that game, using darkness and invisibility to try and hide as you blast him. Of course Wily wasn't the final boss.
One of, if not the most overpowered item in the entire Disgaea series comes from La Pucelle Tactics/Ragnarok. The Warp Engine that you get from obtaining the Demon Lord title is an equippable accessory that gives the user infinite movement and also ignore walls and holes and enemies on their way to the space they're moving to. The game does balance it out by making it give otherwise terrible stats. This can easily be avoided by realizing you can change equipment without the game counting it as an action, which will open the doors to making it even more useful once the player realizes that giving the Warp Engine to a character before they move gives them the previously described bonuses. So the ability to move to any space isn't limited to a single character, your whole army is getting this perk as long as you don't forget to remove it before attacking.
Jeez, the move speed of all the pixel enemies in Streets Of Rage 4 looks like literal satire toward all the old Streets Of Rage games
Finaly someone else who acknolages pokken tournaments existance
And today for representation of speed-limit breaking characters we have antigravity cars (by the way, there is no need for excuses here. After all, we all know, that the fastest thing in the universe is a truck, that, as far as I know, doen't have self-consciousness. If he counts, anything else does too.), but also lightning-fast bruisers and... a giant moth? And chickens, that are quick to run from and, as it turns out, into battle. On a side note, something not quite related. The bit at 4:08 souns similar to music from Shining Force. Not surprising, considering that it's same composer, but interesting, how you can confirm creator by this tiny bits and pieces.
Guy from Ultra Street Fighter IV. Fast ahh mf, thats why I main him.
15:12 "You wear a disguise to look like human guys; but you're not an R Bear, you're a chicken, boo ♪"
With physics glitches, F Zero cars can go even faster than that, while still driving around the courses. It has to do with some weirdness with the accelerator button actually decelerating you after a certain point to keep you >2k kpm most of the time. The glitches all basically involve bypassing that by pressing the accelerator as little as possible while still pressing it enough to actually increase speed, trigger boosts, etc.
If we ever get a new F Zero, I seriously hope they tap into this side of GX and let you go 4+k kpm on the regular, without needing glitches. Maybe only on an extra hard "Overclock" mode?
5:10 LMAO
You REALLY need to cover Rocket Knight Adventures sometime, Whoisthisgit.
How about the SRT Tomahawk X from Grand Turismo for being the fastest car.
Pretty coincidental that Fat Shark on max accel was the fastest on your freefall test when that machine AND max accel configuration is also considered the fastest non-custom machine in the game by speedrunners if using the Snaking strat.
Also, that chicken from Landstalker must have been raised by VMDL to be that fast 😂
4:59 I beg your pardon?
4:49 YOU WHAT?!?!?!?
the f zero vehicles when falling so fast that it breaks the sound barrier by thrice
It shines a new light on Fable hero's first nickname, Chicken Chaser.
He was lightyears ahead of us.
Literally, too, probably, as he must have caught a bunch by now.
Funny how I got an ad for Sonic Superstars on this video about speed.
Speaking of pokemon, some pokemon can get so fast that they outspeed Trick room due to a oversight that had existed since generation V. Any Pokemon that reaches 1809 speed will literally go first despite trick room being up.
As for Zera Valimar him being so fast is a way to make up for the Action Economy that multiple character have over a singular one. Even if hey moved only slightly faster than you characters he would likely be much easier and have to have much more power to make up for his slowness. It is the same reason why many RPG bosses get two or more actions per round.
I've grown to appreciate Etrian Odyssey for never giving bosses multiple turns, even though you have 5 characters. At most they'll have multiple parts or summon buddies.
The rule of thumb, though, is that they really do believe in that "have much more power" part you brought up x)
Hm, does a boss who could potentially grant themselves an unlimited number of turns in a turn-based battle system count as being 'fast'? (Mot from SMT Nocturne)
That might be getting too dangerously close to that Sans guy from Undertale for Whoisthisgit's comfort ;)
What's the tile card music?
T.T. and Penta Penguin could be considered some of the borderline fastest kart racers in their corresponding games, having nearly max stats on all stats (Speed, Acceleration, and Handling).
While T.T. received no nerfs in Diddy Kong Racing DS, Penta did get nerfed in Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled out of concern for Online Play, so now Penta has the same stats as the Speed characters; Dingodile, Tiny Tiger, Crunch, Spyro, Nina Cortex, to name a few.
You can reach higher speeds in F Zero GX through a technique called Snaking
Landstalker chicken is faster than robo chicken from sparkster
4:50 🤨📸
I gotta love how the falling speed of machines in GX is faster than earth's terminal velocity. Compared to GX's practically infinity Earth's is a poultry 190 km/h. Pathetic.
Speedy Chickens
0:49 The drivers only count as fast if their speed is measured relative to the road. Relative to their own cars, the speed is zero.
Sonic?
If Ninjask was in Pokken, he'd be the most broken character in the game, full stop, it'd be Brawl Meta Knight all over again.
I'd like to nominate an item: the Omega Drive from Terraria's Thorium Mod ! It's a reward from the true final boss of Thorium, and it jacks up your max speed to ridiculous levels. Normally, a large world will take a character about, i dunno, eight-ish minutes to cross on their own? More if they don't have boots or maybe less with the right wings? The Omega Drive cuts that time to under a minute. It's so fast you'll probably overshoot where you're going!
The only change ninjask would ever have at relevancy
