OMG IT works - I had a video on imovie in vertical portrait mode and to view it on youtube it didn't fill whole screen until I did what YOU say and it works so now peeps can watch my vertical portrait IMOVIE on UA-cam and will fill the screen. YEA!!!!! Thank you Thank you!!!

There is a simpler way to do it. Before creating a new project go to File > New App Preview.
