    Thank you for all the good tips! I had no problem facing my wood or making the long edges 90‘, but when I tried to cut that end grain, good Lord was that a headache. I think I need to tune up my block plane, but I am glad you had some alternatives for the meantime. These tips will be put to good use tomorrow with my number five. Again, thank you very much for these tips and for sparing me future headaches 👍🏻

    I liked the tip about planing it before you cut it. I ha a 20” piece of Black Walnut that I need to smooth and take a bit off the end. The board will eventually be cut to 17”wide, so it’s not a big deal to have some tare out on the part I’m cutting off anyhow! Thanks

    Thanks for the video , sure helps out for me , in first year carpentry , first shop project is to plane down a 2x4 block down to 80 mill wide 30 mill thick 400mill long , it’s all fu. Amd games till you try to plane down them end grains

    I have a peice I need to plane, in situ, how do I get into the end of the peice when there is a floor or ceiling in the way?
