i wish i could go back in time and steal a beta cartridge xd
MarioGaming Who doesn't
They apparently wrote over their beta cartridges with updates that would make the finale version of the game, so we may somewhere in the world someone who happens to have the Super Mario 64 cartridge that went through a series of betas like elements, objects, terrains, textures, characters and features that now exist or are removed gameshark only accessible with features that are scrapped but in the cartridges game code data banks that are just scripted however though in the end not to appear in the game but remain in the cartridges data files within the cartridges memory, the thing with Nintendo once stating that they had a move to consider which was to either keep Luigi in Super Mario 64 make more game areas, levels instead and that sadly having to be that Luigi was scrapped as an idea to appear in the game only leaves behind in the castle courtyard the L is real 2401 reference cause 2401 was in fact by Nintendo stated to be the date that paper Mario would be released being within February aka the second month on the 4th of the year 2001, so L is real though explains that he was going to appear in a Paper Mario though.
That’s what a lot of people didn’t understand about the whole L is real thing it’s that it wasn’t a Easter egg, or a hint to how something kept secret in the games unlocked, but a Paper Mario was released on February 4th in 2001 which is why it was noticeable on the star statue that although it was really grainy to read what could be made out reading the statue carefully though looked by everyone to be 2401.
We had Luigi in the gameboy version of Mario Bros deluxe which was one of Nintendo’s bets ever creations of the Mario Bros franchise aside from the Super Mario franchise, as Mario Bros seems to be a game revolving usually as always around 8 worlds with 4 or more places in each of those worlds while the Super Mario series of the Mario franchise seems to be concerned about collecting stars, shine sprites, and even the Mario Kart series uses stars but for other in game purposes if not for a mission to kill bowser eventually.
There is a beta recreation, but not exact
all the beta recreation mods are very broken
Had that same thought
I feel like one day people will look at this game in the same vein as Steamboat Willie for cartoons. The first step into 3D, primitive but so beautiful. I was a kid in 96 and was floored by this. Still, not until now looking back do I realize how special it really, really was.
Honestly, some might or might not look at it the way you are saying it. I am lucky that I am digging through old cartoons from the 1920's and into stuff like this. But now most kids will turn it into a meme, and the beta for this already became one sadly. And this makes me fear for the future sometimes.
The recent silly meme arose by chance, could happen to anything. And a joke related to something can coexist with respect for it. I wouldn't worry too much :>
Polaris/2401blue Many memed things lose respect
Sm64 was NOT the first step into 3d lmfao
I would give anything to play the 1995 build of this game!
Its probably on an old hard drive in an achient computer stored in a closet somewhere at the nintendo HQ, of course assuming it still exists at all

I remember when there was BARELY any footage for the beta but it looks like more research has been done and people have come out from under their rocks with raw footage, hopefully someone will recreate a full beta with this much footage.
Spiritual Stoner And I got a second video showing more screenshots that weren't in this video. Check it out, if you want.
I think i will make this mod. I just need a list of beta stuff. I was thinking about E3 version. I started this project a hour ago. I changed HUD and it looks like E3 version now. I will change voice and coins. If you want more, type your suggestions here.

I’m pretty sure it’s the video quality that makes it sound different
Yes
@@RadonAtom_it’s actually played in a higher tempo, so yes, it’s a bit faster.😅
19:36 I wish Nintendo included that sound
That BETA version looks dope
the thing is that Nintendo wrote the rest of their finalized content onto the larger N64 cartridge and then had it dumped into their computers where they ported the finalized game of Super Mario 64 onto the ordinary sized cartridges, the beta cartridge was just exported of all of the content Nintendo wrote onto it, and imported onto ordinary cartridges so that's really what happened to the Beta of the game, its not actually missing with no-one who hasn't ever found it yet, someone may just happen to have the cartridge that Nintendo imported the finalized game onto which was originally the slightly larger cartridges beta content that Nintendo however overhauled before they exported it onto an ordinary cartridge to copy and write to more cartridges, they may not even realize it but someone could have the original dump cartridge and while others may just have an ordinary cartridge that had the game copied onto them as well, for whoever does have the original dump cartridge may not even realize but their cartridge if as long as it was not yet dumped from the bigger prototype cartridge could've been in todays market worth around 10 thousand to 50 thousand dollars.
Why that much is because Nintendo development cartridges are not to be sold to anyone and though since they dropped support for the Nintendo 64 years ago though its nowadays just a scavenger hunt for people, cause they think there may be Ura Zelda on one of the development carts, if there is and someone someday gets their hands on it, congrats to them, the hype these days for Nintendo's disk version games for the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive add-on is unreal because that console would've died just like the SNES or NES as well, but it didn't because it was the first ever successful development of 3 dimensional video games.

I kinda realize, there's a few collectors and game Porto admirers that'd like to see betas dumped of titles like Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Kirby 64, Ocarina of Time, and like, every Gamecube game in the library (+ Gamecube betas of Super Paper Mario and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast), but like, these are all from Nintendo. And the Nintendo-based betas that were leaked, all are from third-parties; Socks the Cat (Kaneko), Star Fox 2 (Argonaut Software Ltd., very early beta leaked 18 years before the SNES Classic release), The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse (Capcom), Wile E.'s Revenge (Sunsoft), etc. Almost a similar situation with Rare, and their titles. Their YT confirms that they still have old betas of like, Giant: Land of Dreams, Banjo-Kazooie, and even Twelve Tales (footage seen was from a circa E3 '97 build, with a few things I don't know if to blame the then early state, or the emulator the game footage was captured from), and the only Rare betas we got (outside the GBA betas showcased on the website formerly known as rarewarecenral.net) were two of BFD; One from ECTS 2000, and one from a bit later that has a more fully fledged crash handler debug menu. And meanwhile, like y'know, there isn't a single Smash Bros. beta flying around anywhere (not counting SSBU's being leaked circa November 23rd, and Chris Taylor's ownage of the E3 beta demo of the self-same doesn't count either, since that's not flying around); Not even a Dragon King proto.
tl;dr Don't expect every existing home-console game's protos to be popping around everywhere straight-off, because there's plentiful highly-protective IPs that won't let you have 'em that easily.
3:38 "Today‚ the new selling argument is the 3D‚ but don't tell us stories... The most important thing is the game itself‚ no?"

So they said Mario 64 was about 50% complete. Based on all the levels shown, I don't think that's the case.

I’m glad they got Charles Martinet to redo the voice acting because the original voice was wild. Especially with that scream.
You know, I really can’t be the only one thinking this. But considering that this is probably one of the very first ever 3D video games (With the exception of Star Fox for the SNES and maybe other titles I’m forgetting.) I wonder what it was like for people to have their hands on one of these controllers and be super confused on how to play. Since back then all the games at the time were pretty much 2D and didn’t have a big 3D world like Super Mario 64 has and everyone would be really used to the 2D games. Idk, maybe I’m overthinking it though or something.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
