This is what we should call 'influencers' people.. This is what we should look up to. Not the people who keep on posting useless selfies and videos. Keep it up girl! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💯
Thats the smartest comment Ive read on youtube in awhile.
Totally agree with you 🙏
So ture
I’d say that “useless” is a bit harsh though...
So true
She's not just rich but she's learned. We need more like these young people.
Being rich can be obsolete. This girl, on the other hand, is wealthy and that attitude will last her a lifetime.
In Europe, many rich people grow their own vegetables and fruits, as kitchen gardening is their hobby. Some high schools teach agricultural science to kids, very useful to those coming from farming communities.
As in my country, some elementary & high schools even keep kitchen gardens and recycling facilities. Rich and poor kids in same classrooms learn to grow food crops together.
I live with my elderly relation who owns a 12-room house and I am growing food crops not just for myself, also for family, friends and visitors.
Malmik, growing food crops is not just for poors or labourers, also for rich who see it as a therapeutic hobby. You need to travel to some countries and see how many of the wealthiest keep kitchen gardens.
My late father used to keep a kitchen garden at the back of his bike shop. He grew vegetables & fruits like rhubarbs, apples, shallots, onions, cabbage, lettuce, etc.
With the war from Russia affecting prices of goods, I recently started growing vegetables: onions, leeks, celery, cabbage, lettuce, etc. I use old food containers like trays, yoghurt pots, cola bottles for growing crops. I use up old plastic bags for growing potatoes therein.
Those systems like hers sell for about $699 in the us when it's only about $30 to make. I did a diy with NSF material and it basically grows itself once you have your system dialed in
Can u give details? I wanna build one
do you also use fish?
@@joesarker5808 Look for nft hidroponic systems made of pvc pipe. There are several plans and tutorials here in youtube but the idea is to keep a thin layer of water with nutrients flowing from the tank to the plants and returning to the tank due to gravity. Hope it helps... Peace from Brazil
@@celsotardeli9623 cheers buddy 😎😎
@@joesarker5808 Kodaponics website or contact us by email. We can give you some tips!
I imagine in places like singapore where only 2% of the land can be farmed, there is a great demand for vegetables. Some day we may see a story about this girl starting her own vertical farming company
Singapore is doing well with urban environmental development!
In the U.S. in many urban areas fresh organic veggies are hard to come by because of the expense.
@@toyajackson556 grow your own on the window sill. Some plants like special salad can grow in a pot and regrow.
@@toyajackson556 some good crops to grow at home are tomatoes and mustard. tomatoes can be bought from the store but you just need to plant their seeds, and everytime the plant is about to die (as in the leaves turn yellow and start to dry out) just cut off 90% of the branches except for the ones with fruit on them. you can get multiple harvests from the plant that way and as long as the main stem is intact it will last a few months. tomatoes also produce high yields of fruit so you really make the most out of them, and you can freeze them for future use. mustard can be bought as seeds in the spice section i believe but make sure they are not roasted, if you plant them, you can grow them using their leaves for salads and their flowers are both pretty and edible so you can either eat them or pick them (i love the taste so i eat them).
you can also grow peas and beans at home too, you don't need much floor space, a 6-8 inch plastic pot of dirt on the ground is fine, but put it next to a wall where it can grasp onto a trellis so that it can vine up, just harvest the beans and peas when the pods start to dry out a bit, they taste amazing.
good luck lol
Or in dense urban cities around the world that are reliant on imported food and are dependent on poorly constricted food systems that produce massive amounts of waste and don't even distribute food efficiently. This is the new norm. Imagine every apartment complex either having a large center for this means of growing food, or even individual apartment setups. Or houses trading in ridiculously useless grass for either food horticulture or at least more effective means of carbon sequestering. The future needs to be green and we must return to nature.
I don’t want to take anything away from this stunning human and young leader. But I would like to congratulate the parents and adults in her life, just providing the environment for her to flourish was a gift to the whole world, thank you 🙏
She‘s raised well
This is fantastic. Food autonomy and security is so important. It looks like she doesn't have to rely on grow lights because of Singapore's latitude, so it's low energy too!
Grow light is not necessary since her setup is still at low density and situated outdoors, so no climate control either. But being in a skyscraper also helps since there's no pests in 16th floor.
You should join Skillshare! Or teach a master class. Or post on Khan Academy. Would love to learn from you.
Yes!!!! This young woman is amazing. I would love to learn more from her
Please make sure she doesn't get punched in the face for her Asian feature by totally useless thugs.
She is an admirable person, someone who actually contributes to our world.
I feel someone is driving the price up so we are discouraged on this, most of it is just plastic, its super easy, and is the future. I am doing my own thing as well. Urban Gardening needs to fill up all these empty buildings, we need to grow local, and get closer to nature. I feel everyone has a 4x4 area to start. You will be surprised on what you can do on your own, i will warn you, you have to kill some plants in order to learn, and just a tip, dont waste time on the weak, throw away and just start more seeds. In production once they get stressed they dont work right, just like us. You will learn alot from this process, farmers work hard to get that food to our plates. My goal is to try and change my sons mind on his eating habits. I feel if he is part of the process he will be more likely to try to change. I also dont like to depend on anyone but me if possible to sustain life. Off grid approach, but we need to help everyone in the process that is willing to help themselves, ones that are to lazy to work, aint nobody got time for that.
I want to do this, thanks for the tips
I wish I could have seen more of the fish as well 🥺
Did they show the fish at all?
A role model. Well done. Be proud of yourself
I also started hydroponics during her age. It's really easy and cheap to do and it teaches you to respect how foods come to your plate.
People who are self-efficient and thinking of others like Hanna Joe make our world a heaven place to live in. They deserve respect! Well-done, Hanna.
my first hydroplant also bokchoy and they all died. now i'm planting the second experiment with swamp cabbage. quite successful and ready to harvest in 1 month.
All the very best 💖
So wonderful to see young minds seeing the real problems and addressing them ❤️😀
I'm also doing this. I'm living on the 15th floor of our building. Guess what my dumb dog decided to do. Yep, he decided to play with the pots and almost knock all my pots down the building. Luckily, only the soil fell down the balcony and no one got hit. So yeah my dog almost put me in jail.
Send yr dog to SPCA, period 😁😲😂
😭I have a similar experience, luckily, no one got hit as well...My heart was beginning to hurt thinking about what could have happened.
It's not allowed to have pots outside the building here
Her curiosity, passion and dedication is a good role model for all students who has entrepreneural mindset.
Your awareness has spread just like covid and so will love and peace
Such a good example and a great inspiration to all teenagers out there who are almost engaged in social media and trying to get more likes by doing nonsense.
So proud of this young girl. How can we learn from her how to set up?
You can learn on UA-cam
Ima start gud luk 2 u guys
@@bigrieki4739 @Munirwary GG Hydroponics are awesome!! They sell vertical tower setups on amazon that with hot glue, you can make waterproof and then you can turn into good letus towers!! I was able to grow 25 heads and that one tower took up less than a 2ft square. On amazon, they often have strawberry plants advertised in the planter. They are only 30$ which is super affordable compared to buying other full hydroponic systems.
There's various UA-cam channels plus Reddit & Facebook have gardening groups where the experienced help the new. If you're in America (though some of this you can access without being a citizen or here) go to the state or county's cooperative extension office website. They have mainly free or low cost learning (virtually & in person) plus they can pair you with a Master Gardener if you need more one on one help if requested. *The pairing will depend on how many Master Gardener Volunteers are available & the type of growing you want to do. The Master Gardener help is free. Hope this helps.
@@munirwarygg7209 good for you!!🌳
Creating awareness is good. Keep up the good work girl.
It was the slow mo smile for me.. so sweet
She is a very special young woman. 👍👍👍👍

Wow! You are such a blessing to us all!! Thank you for your dedication
What a sweet, thoughtful, smart kid. Refreshing. ❤️

U should do it.. nothing is stopping u except urself
Just Brilliant on so many levels. Love this young woman!
Good job girl wish you more success you are a good example for the new generation to love nature your parents must be really proud of you gud luck girl❤️❤️❤️
And so, another beautiful soul steals my heart. I was obsessed with aquaponics for a time but didn't come around to building a system of my own. Her smile is fairytale ^-^
Amazing, thanks for sharing! In a concrete jungle like Singapore, it is very inspiring to see an urban farmer thrive!
Hanna, all I can say is that, you have done a great job girl. Keep up the good work.
An exceptional young woman.
Excellent strategy.
Great video
What a bright young woman. She will definitely be doing great things with her life.
I have so much respect for this smart teen. I hope more look up to her.
Well done, and excited for her future!
Her mum is a happy mother, don't need to buy veg fm market 😁🤭😂
I'm proud of you as well; love the joy and sense of accomplished exuded in your smile.
Wow, beautiful hydroponic garden setup 🌴🍃🌱🌿💕
I want to do this! Thanks for the inspiration
A cute and smart girl. God bless you!
What an awesome accomplishment next generation. Keep it up and thanks for inspiring me to do so.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Power to the younger generations! You will inherit a chaotic planet from us, old farts, but strive to make it better. We'll do our best to fck it up a little less.
Good job Hanna! We need more people like u. Pls totally disregard the negative comments. Keep up the good work. So proud of u. Good thing u didn’t give up n now u have an inspiring story n help many make life better.
Btw, will it be possible u show us what u discovered to make the fish survive n the plants grow? We are learning from u. We want to know everything so we don’t have to go through the teething problems if u don’t mind.
Thanks for sharing 👍👏👏👏
This! I love this! Thank you for sharing.
You are inspiring the world, Hanna!
You are amazing! Please keep it up and expand! I'm gonna do the same in your footsteps. Wish me luck! 😊✨
Right now, you can buy the kit. I remember seeing in an expo several months b4 pandemic... It's a modular set and pricing around rm1k. On long term, if you hv space it really does wonders and neat looking
They should do this on top of every HDB roof with additionally install solar panels to sustain energy. There’s many ways to improve unfortunately the government only wants money.
Yes! Its really relaxing to be with nature. :)
completely amazing, i really would have liked to see the fish housing more in the video too, excellent job!
Sadhu, excellent. Thank you for showing excellent example of teen entrepreneurship
What a fantastic story, humanity is wonderful
This is my first time enjoying your UA-cam channel. Great work! I’m looking forward to more great content from you. Thank you so much for this informative video! I got so much out of it.
What an incredible visioairy.
You are great. At a very young age you already have the right thinking... keep going and ifluence more.👍👏
she’s such a smart young lady
That's good work you've accomplished. The hydroponic Kratky method is what I'm doing and it's so easy..no fish needed. I learned the kratky method on youtube
She's only 17 years old yet was able to build her own aquaponics wow!
I think youre underestimating the capabilities of someone at age 17.
You are amazing! Congratulations, you are inspiring lots of people.
YOU ARE A BLESSING TO THE PPL AROUND YOU. VERY TALENTED AND SWEET.
Keep going girl👏👏
You are going to make it big ❤
I hope u continue to inspire as many people as possible around the world🤞
She knows how to think long term. That is a good mindset at such a young age and she will build great things.
Awesome teen.. Wish u all the success
What a great example you are setting!
Good, consistent, presentation. Well done.
You go girl ❤❤ So inspiring and definitely inspired me 💥
Well done Hanna. I have a similar setup but was never so brave as to try aquaponics so stuck hydroponics. I grow mainly kale and to be honest don’t even have to check the ph or add nutrients as it’s quite a hardy plant. The setup was not cheap though and I wonder whether these initiatives are not expanded on because there is a lot of money still being made importing food. I’m sure Singapore has some hydro or aquaponic initiatives but its really not well marketed enough. With the amount of good leafy greens the general population consumes there’s still plenty of demand and space to grow and reduce imports. You can grow exponentially more than you would in soil based systems. Once you get it right it’s relatively easy to maintain. Another huge benefit not often discussed is that you can use much less toxic substances for pest control, if you even have any. You can control exactly what you providing your family to eat. Big ups to you Hanna! There is a future where agritech can make a massive impact and Singapore can once again show the world how its done.
That’s awesome!!! Happy I came across this, learned something new😊
I harvest rain water too and proud of it. Love it! :)
Your work is amazing
Lucky Singapore to have you
I am proud of your efforts and work
I'm into gardening so seeing this is cool! Maybe I could do this one day
This was a whole movie. Felt like i was watching the My Octopus Teacher documentary on Netflix . ST has amazing directors!
Genius and motivating.
Wonderful initiative, so proud of you😊
Well done Hanna !! This could be a planting solution for people who live in high rises 👍🏻
WOw! amazing! such a beautiful girl!
Excellent 👏🏻. I’d like to have seen the fish as well and heard more about it all.
That is exactly what I was thinking! Where are the fish?
Well done!!❤
Bravo!! Very inspiring 👍
This is so great and inspirational and JUST what I needed to see. Thank You God.
Excellent!
Such a clever young woman!
Singapore kids speak several languages, our kids can’t read cursive.
@@StudioSage I work at a mundane job, but my critical-thinking skills are on-point whenever the line kitchen runs into a technical problem with one of the doors jamming or whatnot (sometimes one of the wheels in the drawer seizes and needs a dose of WD-40.)
@@StudioSage Having lived in three different countries, the issue of critical-thinking being non-existent is definitely true. The lack of creativity or any desire to invent or take risks is huge as well. When I do see kids that don't fit the mold, they're normally made to feel like something is wrong with them.
@@krystellemackey ::: It’s horrifying to watch high IQ children be marginalized by “the system”, that spends oodles on propping up low functioning children, and nothing on high achieving students!
School, these days, is more about indocrination than education. The average child is capable of learning many languages, but most of them aren't given the opportunity at an early enough stage in their lives.
@@StudioSage Yes people who struggle to think critically resort to blaming the Jews. Take some responsibility for yourself and quit finding scapegoats. Your victim mentality is pitiful.
Woww congratulationss!!! This is superb.. wanna see the fish too😊
More power to you!!
Wow, just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Job!
You go girl.
Can I grow in a place where there may be not be any direct sunlight? After watching this video, I just may muster enough courage to explore hydro or aquaponics. Thanks Hanna for the video!
Amazing!!
I would l'île to see how keep thé fish with aquaponic.
This is so cool
Lovely 💚
This is awesome!
Good on you, I too find most gardening very relaxing and satisfying. Covid has taught us a lot about sustainability. I live in Australia and we import a lot of food and medicines, which is silly considering we have the space and climate to grow all our own food, plus the knowledge and infrastructure to make our own drugs. I think we will all be better prepared for the next pandemic that the scientists say we will have . Anyway you are a lovely and intelligent girl and I hope you have a wonderful life.
this is fascinating! I wonder if this system works indoor with much less direct sunlight
Inspirational!
