Wow, that's such a beautiful arrangement! Can't really find the words to describe it properly... you somehow managed to make the song really powerful, even though it's quiet and calm. From the first note you just took me away from reality and into the world of music! Thanks a lot! :)
*actually screaming at the tutorial annotation* I love all your arrangements so much I hope you make this a fairly regular thing because I'd love to learn them!!!! :D
No not yet! :D I'm so excited! Just became a patron too (don't know how or why I wasn't before lol, been loving your stuff since your channel first started!)
I only have one good camera, so usually the angle where my hands are most visible is live and the others are dubbed. In this video and the last, it's the birds-eye view from above! I usually have an arrangement made before I start shooting, but this take I completely improvised the intro :)
Hah well yeah :D my theory is that you may not realise it, cause you are just in it all the time ;) the rest of the world is allowed there just while they listen to your music ^^ its' amazing :D
This is an incredible arrangement, I love it! Also, I'm really excited for your tutorial vid coming soon, thank you so much for sharing with us your music :)
Loudr gives more % to the artist, which is why you'll see most people who do multiple outlets pushing Loudr. We also push to iTunes because it's slightly more convenient and more people are familiar with it. Thanks for asking!
Did you take any theory lessons to know what chords and what notes sound good at what point, or is it purely trial and error, and a lot of experience? I want to be able to play like that by ear, but I'm absolutely terrible at transcribing/composing.
I've been playing and studying music for a long time, but most of my hardcore music theory came from college. I definitely come from a "by ear" background, so learning theory mostly served as a way to describe concepts I could already hear. I will explain exactly how I created this arrangement from a 3-minute improvisation, as well as provide a link to a recording of that improvisation in next week's tutorial video. If you want to get better at transcribing, start easy! Pick a simple section of a simple recording (four bars or so) and figure it out! That's all there is to it. As with anything, the more you do, the better you will get. Composing is the same... you just have to do it regularly and ignore the self-criticism as much as possible.
Most features have a knob or button on the control surface for easy and intuitive access. Many other keyboards require menu diving and pre-programming to function in similar ways. Generally speaking, I find myself experimenting and tweaking sounds more using a Nord than any other board.
This is equisite
You're equisert. Exquizzit. Ickscuisert?
Incredible. i'm almost speechless
the heartache that i felt during this was so real. you play so expressively & beautifully, the world needs more people like you.
Wow, that's such a beautiful arrangement! Can't really find the words to describe it properly... you somehow managed to make the song really powerful, even though it's quiet and calm. From the first note you just took me away from reality and into the world of music! Thanks a lot! :)
Thank you, Daniela! Glad you could come on that journey with me!
Just WOW! The powerful emotion in the way it's played and shown on his face. Stunning.
Thanks, Chrissy! The simplicity is more of a logistical mandate than a creative choice, but I'm glad it works!
Sounds heavenly...Can feel God's presence hearing this.. Terrific Playing Nathan👍👏

No not yet! :D I'm so excited! Just became a patron too (don't know how or why I wasn't before lol, been loving your stuff since your channel first started!)

Glad to hear this! Should only be two weeks until the next cover, one until the tutorial!
Nathan, that was a great tutorial! My kids and I just watched the whole thing. They were riveted and jumped right on the piano afterward. :)
Awesome! So glad to hear people are getting something from it!
You make that piano sing with such emotion 😍 it's music to my ears!! 😉
Do you record your videos live?
I only have one good camera, so usually the angle where my hands are most visible is live and the others are dubbed. In this video and the last, it's the birds-eye view from above! I usually have an arrangement made before I start shooting, but this take I completely improvised the intro :)
Just beautiful!
This is beautiful.
Thank you, Aubrey!
You're very welcome!
I feel like there's a different Nathan's universe and you are taking me there every time when I listen to your music.
Wow I have my own universe? That's awesome :)
Hah well yeah :D my theory is that you may not realise it, cause you are just in it all the time ;) the rest of the world is allowed there just while they listen to your music ^^ its' amazing :D
So gorgeous, Nathan! Thank you for doing what you do and inspiring other young musicians!

It's actually nice. You're so good pianist .
Thank you!
Yay new video! Was starting to wonder if you were gonna disappear again hahaha xD
Trying not to :)
Beautiful arrangement. Is there a difference between purchasing on loudr vs iTunes for you?
Loudr gives more % to the artist, which is why you'll see most people who do multiple outlets pushing Loudr. We also push to iTunes because it's slightly more convenient and more people are familiar with it. Thanks for asking!
Beautiful! You are a wonderful pianist! :)
Thanks, Melannie!
This is insane. Your so talented. I'm not even giving my opinion. I am stating a fact.
Haha thanks, Myles!
Very good!! :)
Hi. How can I get your permission to use it as instrumental on a cover ?
No thanks
Good work bro!!
Thanks Milosh!
What type of keyboard is that? by the way, the song is beautiful!!!
Not a keyboard from the brand that endorses me :)
Nathan Alef oh ok:)

Nathan Alef Alright thanks man! Really appreciate it.
What key is this in?
Ab!
what kind of keyboard do you have
I have a few, but this is a Yamaha CP4. For live performance I prefer Nord keyboards!
thank you so much for answering 😊
why you prefer Nord one for live performance..? thx
Most features have a knob or button on the control surface for easy and intuitive access. Many other keyboards require menu diving and pre-programming to function in similar ways. Generally speaking, I find myself experimenting and tweaking sounds more using a Nord than any other board.
thank you. which of your video is using the nord...? i wanna see.. thx
