yu can use your passport it doesnt require chip

EVISA is once you receive your BRP and after that you can apply for E visa

The UK Home Office ceased to issue physical biometric residence permits (BRPs) on 31 October 2024.

Ideally it should be able to scan from anywhere in the world. if you are facing some challenge try to reachout to ukvi via an email. or check FAQs
