- A brief history of the GT40 prototypes and specifically GT/106 the original MKII prototype. Some of the most important Ford GT40's ever built
GT/106 was driven by Ken Miles and Bruce McLaren at the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans.
They led the majority of the first two hours but suffered from gearbox failure.
These original MKII prototypes no longer exist.
It's only fitting that this Ford GT MKII Livery pays tribute to that legendary car.

I was a huge fan of Jim Hall's Chevy Chaparral in the mid-sixties. Still am. But, the GT40 was what won LeMans so, it became legendary. Today, they are my two favorite cars of all time. Absolutely love the looks of those two cars.👍👍
Absolutely stunning!

The J car was scrapped and replaced by the MK1V, which won in 1967
They added to an Iconic Shelby and failed.
Why were the GT 1 & 2 destroyed?
