Great video. I just watched a guy with annoying accent talk for 15 minutes before even getting close to the title of his video. This is so much better. The sound is great.
I’ve been researching survival techniques and knowledge here on UA-cam lately. Trying to garner as much bushcraft knowledge as possible from people like you. I’m a veteran and an avid outdoorsman so it’s not like I’m starting from scratch, but I also realize that there’s ALWAYS guys in the world who may know better easier ways. And although I may be an “old dog”, I am not opposed to learning new tricks and adding them to my own knowledge base. I 100% appreciate the tutorial you took the time to create. Thanks brother, and stay safe and free.
I greatly appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. I love reading about peoples passion for the great outdoors, and never-ending willingness to sharpen their skillset. I too, am learning everyday. This community is such a blessing and I am more than glad we've had this opportunity to meet. Hope all is well my friend. Cheers!
Pine trees are such an amazing species. Crazy to think each tree in that footage has already lived my lifetime multiple times over. Thanks for watching and sharing a comment! 🙏🏽
Yeah man, it can last you a long time if used properly. One of the absolute best tools anyone can have in their pack. Fatwood is a true treasure. Thanks for watching! 👊🏽
Haha thats awesome! Geez, it smells so good. I wish I could turn it into a scented candle 🕯. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Hope all is well. Take care my friend. 🙏🏽
Love it 😂🤘 strikes a ferro rod starts two fires, that’s a great find little jealous not gonna lie I will find one of those one day !! Now let’s be honest how long did it take you to cut that and how pissed were you when you broke it by kicking it
Haha greatly appreciate you watching. Took about 15 minutes to cut through, as I had to keep stopping to clean the saw blade. And yes, at first I was like "noooooo, its not a complete clean cut", but then that gorgeous scent hit me, and everything in the world was good again haha.
@@TheLonelyPath this weekend I’m taking my little one hiking and hunting for some fat wood, but here in jersey little tough, I definitely enjoyed that , I need to get another axe actually mine getting rolls after few hits fatwood is pretty brutal on them
The whole time I was saying to myself, don't burn the log, don't burn the log! And whew, you didn't burn it! Great harvest, and sweet video. What kind of pine tree do you think that is?
Haha oh no... thats a trophy piece. That one piece could last for years. Im not an expert on tree species (still learning), but I think that was a Ponderosa Pine. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. It really means a lot. Cheers!

@@TheLonelyPathI decided to follow this! When I saw this message I go to planning, me and the wife are going to California, the El Dorado and Tahoe national forests and Arizona on the way out! I was curious where this was in Arizona? I’d love to pay this a visit. Thanks for the motivation brother
@@garonjohnson91 Sounds like an amazing trip. The area I filmed this video is called "Bear Canyon Lake". On the way to this location, there are a few different spots all resembling the same atmosphere. The first spot you'll run into is "Woods Canyon Lake". Either of these spots would be nice to see. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. That single piece alone should last a while. Wish I could convey the amazing smell through video. Thanks again! Cheers!
Thank you! Funny things is, there were soooo much more to pick from on that single tree. Easily can use it to stock up in the future... if someone else doesnt find it first haha. Thanks for watching!
Split them suckers down the middle bro!! It’s so satisfying to see the wood in the middle when it looks all caramelized
Agreed bro! Appreciate you watching and shooting a comment. Cheers!
Wow, that's the darkest fatwood I've ever seen. Beautiful!
It is 😍

I'm not sure what's more impressive, that massive piece of fatwood or your massive arms? Nice find.
I appreciate that, thank you!
If looking strictly for fatwood I take my cordless chainsaw. Small, light and works perfectly. 🇨🇦
Nice!
Thank you for watching!
Amazing video as always. What kind of trees can you get fatwood from?
Thank you! Fatwood is found in or around dead Pine trees. In most cases, the longer the tree has been dead, the easier to spot.
Love this bruh
Thank you brother! 👍🏽
