I'm thrilled to be finding this. Paul is a Good Rockin Daddy and his voice has always been one of my favorites. He's got passion--just look at some of the earlier Feet--of course they are all stoned--but nevermind that. And I LOVE Fred--another very fine everything!
Saw Paul and Fred at Carrollton Station during Jazzfest several years ago. This was a small intimate setting and it was an amazing night. Teresa Anderson came in at the end and jammed. Lowell was certainly there in spirit.
@wimpicker54 i saw them both many times in TX, and Zappa and Lowell were very gifted musicians. their music was for the cognoscenti, not the beer pop crowd Billy Payne and the Feat are still rocking, still setting poetry to music.
Let it Roll, Hate to Lose Your Lovin, Rooster Rag, Oh Atlanta, dont Bogart that Joint, Down on the Farm... many killer tunes written by band members other than L.G.

@JaysonK19 Actually, I got Two Trains [which Toussaint covers regularly in concert], with his "Last Train" which is on his Southern Nights record which was release in 1975. I can't prove this, but I sure that Lowell and Allen traded musical ideas back in the day. I'm sure they influenced each other in some ways. Both are musical geniuses, I'm glad Toussaint is alive and well and still very creative. RIP LG
RIP Allen Toussaint and Paul Barriere, Paul and Fred did their acoustic set at Carrollton Station during Jazzfest in 2013 or so, Theresa Anderson sat in with them. It was a knockout night. Enjoy some herb with them inbetween sets.
@1blastman You're incorrect. The song "Two Trains" was written by Lowell George and originally recorded by Little Feat on the "Dixie Chicken" album. Toussaint did cover the song, notably with Leo Nocentelli on the Lowell George tribute album, but the song is most assuredly not an Allen Toussaint song. Perhaps you're confusing it with "On Your Way Down" which also appears on "Dixie Chicken" which was written by Toussaint.
you know, paul and billy and the guys didn't kill lowell george! bad enough they lost their friend and colleague. brave enough they decided to carry on. lowell's death is not an excuse to trash the rest of the band. it was (and is) a BAND, not a back-up band for lowell! he is missed but respecting the current little feat is not a slur against him. give the guys a break! they've earned their standing. they ARE little feat. g
Hi austin Pickers, I recognize you as bonifide members of Little Feat and I appreciate this version. Sam Bush also has a killer mando version of 'Sailin' Shoes' Please check out my guitar/mando duet.
Why do my comments not post? Anyway, if it ain't Lowell, you got business invoking the name Little Feat. If Bill Payne wanted to be in a jazz band he should have quit Feat (would have been a good thing) and started his own project.
LOWELL GEORGE was the and will alway be the heart of Little Feat! Everything the various members and new members have done since may be fine, but it ain't the Feat. If it doesn't have Lowell, it's NOT Little Feat. Bill Payne should be hung by his jazz fusion thumbs.

Really enjoy this song, glad I came across it... Thank you for the post!
Just got my 2 year old daugther stomping this one out. Thank you gentlemen - that was stunning, moving and compelling!

SHIT!!!! Perfect job guys!
@mhgtexas Bill Payne is a legend in his own mind.
This is an Allen Toussaint song that Lowell cover on his lp. Great cover of a cover.
Lowell George wrote this song.

where's the ending?
Uhhh....maybe I listen to too much country blues...but this sounds like a band arrangement minus drums, bass and electricity...

We all are entitled to our opinion, of course. But some are simply ill-informed and not worth paying attention.
Lowell would never sit on a stupid chair like that and sing his song
