Paul Barrere has that special gift of being able to hold the beat without ever being on the beat. Listen to him, standard time and he pretty much never lands on the downbeat, but the groove is perfect. Hope you all realize how hard that is to do. And then to sing over it? Go ahead, try it! Little Feat was in a league all their own.
I got to see these two tonight!! In Bilston (UK) at the Robin 2. Superb. I got to meet them and they signed a cd for my son. I think what people have to realise is that even though Lowell George was monumental, these guys are as much Little Feat as Lowell. It takes all these guys to create that sound. If you remove any of them its a shame but things have to move on.
Yeah I agree.Of all the newer bands with missing founders or leaders this is one that really held true to the deep blues influence.Lowell's definitely looking down with a smile and singing along
greetings from germany :o) little feat were part from one of the first so called rockpalast concerts in our country.. the concept of these via tv live broadcoastet concerts was new then..but brought us *krauts*..lol such bands as little feat and there wonderful music near.. now i am sitting here..nipping a glas red wine..and am thinking back.. blues..dixie.. music is music..and music you like..is the best for your mood :o)
Cool comment, I had no idea Rockpalast had not been there forever. I love those concerts and I love red wine but Dixie killed too many of my family members for me to care much about those under the mason Dixon line. Except for Key West.....it gets a pass......lol
I love that subtle chicken peckin. This feels like there just a hangin in yer living rm with the keys down low. Thanks for this great post. Fan from Ancient Times
everyone should get [waiting for columbus] it is the best of little feet. i recently had a heavy metal tatoo artist listen and he loved it. great stuff!
i wonder where are American tv shows from 1975-1978 ? I have Holland Pinkpop 1976, Germany - Rockpalast 1977 and a short BBC show 1975... Feat was never on Usa Televison ?? Who has more video's ?
The spirit is on the cocaine tree retired and chilling. This as I see it are two masters showing off cuz the depth Paul goes deep on his progression and it is flawless and priceless all at the same time. Fred is keeping it straight funky in a Parlament Funkadelic meets Ricky Skaggs kinda feel.
Far out!!!! Little Feat is the best.
R.I.P. Paul Loved what you gave us and the time you were here
This Band has never gotten the hype they deserved heck theyve been around since the 60s,Go feats

They may be the heart but Lowell was and always will be the SOUL!!!

Perfect!
Bill Payne is as much the heart of Little Feat as Paul, Lowell, and Fred.
Brilliant interplay between two musicians

Feat was never on Usa Televison ??
Who has more video's ?
I checked with Wicapedia and is says that Lowell George cowrote the song with Fred Martin, whoever he is.
Just put any two or three of the folks from this band together... and a show WILL happen!
outstanding, though we miss lowell george, this is terrific
The heart of Little Feat was Lowell George and Bill Payne, not these two. They still great musicians though, and I love this version
did lowell ever say "if i die you must never play this music"? preposterous.
Hey blueshabit lowell didn't even write the song dingdong
great performance , but where is the spirit??? maybe in heaven george rotate in his grave?? who knows?????
let me hear you play it?
