You never thought you`d see this day, but nu-metal is definitely back for good and the time is right for a new party powerhouse: Dropout Kings. The Arizona-based sixpack managed to fuse everything that was awesome back then with the modern edge that blows our minds right now. Hip hop! Fire freestyles! Metal! Varsity jackets! ‘Going Rogue‘ poisons your senses with a dark flow and pumping bass, before ultra-aggressive shouts drown out the heady rapping - and the advance single ‘Street Sharks‘ makes that ceiling crumble over the dancefloor from moment number one. The young crew skillfully avoid the cheesiness of the 90s, and instead plays it ultrasmooth and mega-heavy on debut album AudioDope. they hate it because the true "metal" cant have rap part in it or maybe a black guy. hard to say. music is fine and vocals are good from the rap to the clean screen. is anything metal is in the underground place it is now days because all people want is the old metallica / iron maide , thing is even metallica / iron maide are not the same as in "old good days".

So called close-minded "true" Metal fans in the comment section complaining and moaning saying that Dropout Kings is not Metal at all, cause it's clear they can't accept something different or a reminder of the era of Nu-Metal that's indeed controversial nowadays. Just stop complaining. And if you don't like this type of Metal music, why the hell are you even here? Go ahead and listen to the other stuff on Napalm Records' YT channel instead of wasting it trashing a band you don't like!
Personally, I love this song. Reminds me of early Linkin Park, but just a bit heavier and has a bit more Metalcore influence. I like the sample in the background, the bassline is top notch, the rap sounds solid and has some good flow, and the chorus is pretty catchy. Dropout Kings IMO has a lot of potential to be big, and could IMO start a true Nu-Metal revival, and I wish all the best luck in the world for this up and coming band.
BTW, I like that Napalm Records is promoting something different from their bread and butter.
Very well put, mate. The sample is awesome, the drum line is perfect, the guitar is nice and ballsy and the chorus is amazing. All in all, quality stuff IF you like this genre, which I do. If not, look elsewhere.

This sounds pretty good, aside from the seemingly muffled vocals. The rap sections were good, but I feel like the rest doesn't necessarily keep up. Which is fine, this is only one out of many songs.
Shame that all these "true metalheads" have to be here acting like 12 year olds though. This kind of shit is why the metal community kinda sucks. Really, if you don't like something, that's fine. But you don't need to be telling other people they can't like it, or saying that it's not real metal or something. You are not the authority on that. Personally, I don't have any problem with the rap vocals. I just thought the instrumental and sung vocal elements were pretty generic and uninteresting.

I personally have been listen to death metal/ screamo whatever the fuck you wanna call it for as far back as I can remember. Im totally into this shit I have always appreciated when a different genre tries something else, for example “body count” Ice-T’s heavy metal band love em cause I can appreciate him trying something new but keeping his lyrical twist to it. I think it’s idiotic that anyone can hate on this because the lead vocalist is black though I haven’t read many comments but if they’re out there y’all are clowns this guys got a great voice, sevendust, fire from the gods, killswitch engaged all bands with african lead vocalist who have fuckin great voices so it should have nothing to do with the color of ones skin

This sounds perfect to me. It mixes screamo and a little rap, looks like linkin park in the gold times (hybrid theory, reanimation and meteora). It's not like heavy metal, but more like new metal, it sounds so good. It's a pity to think fans are forcing them to do only heavy metal sound. I think that because the amount of dislikes, I can only think that is the reason, and it is unfair, the band must do the sound they want, let it be.

I really don't want to comment something like "Don't listen to it when you don't like it" but I still don't get this rap-metal/rap-rock whatever hate from seemingly metalheads. Is it just the problem that the word metal is being for this genre or do you feel hurt in your metal pride because they add something more mainstream like rap to it?
