  • On Amazon's Black Friday Deals I saw headlight bulbs for my 2004 Avalanche for an unbelievable $20 for the set of four and decided it would be worth a shot to see how they turn out. Likely, they were being put on clearance for some defect but it was an opportunity to learn so I bought those as well as the replacement turn signal and brake lights. All told, I spent about $60. Let's see how the installation went. All of the bulbs here will fit Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche and Silverado of similar years and many other vehicles. Headlights and High Beams are Bulb Type: 9005, 9006. Parking, brake and turn signals are Bulb Type: 3157 and side markers are Bulb Type: 194.

Glad this helped. I've had these installed for a year now and no problems whatsoever.

Why don't you get the correct lights that lock in. I changed my and had no issues.

These were supposedly correct but were more of a generic fit. Either way, they're still all working well so there's that.

This is a link to the good turn signa, lights: www.amazon.com/dp/B07JGMCHGT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Unfortunately no longer on sale.

This is way different from my 2004 Avalanche 1500 Z71 4WD. Mine has the high and low beams on top. The lower housings have the turn signals and DRL's in them. (More like the Silverado front end.)
I see that yours is also a Z71 4WD. I wonder why they are so different. Mine does not have the plastic cladding on the lower body panels, so maybe that is the difference?

That is really interesting. I have no idea why they would be so different but maybe you're right and it is a cladded vs non-cladded setup.

@@floridarusticrepairs Interesting indeed. Either way, I do love my Avalanche. What a unique and cool vehicle. Actually, there is a picture of it in my latest Vlog, in case you were interested in what the different headlight setup looks like.
BTW, I have also done the LED upgrade to the headlights. Don't remember which kit I used, but it was kind of mid-priced. Fit perfectly. Here in Wisconsin, the nights can get pretty dark, and those LED's made a big difference.
PS: Couldn't help noticing that you are USAF Retired. Thank you for your service, from an old Army Vet.

@@NJP76 I checked out your truck and subscribed to your channel. Yours looks great in black. I should point out, I'm not an Air Force vet. I bought it from a friend's estate and have not had the heart to remove it but I probably should.

Thanks! It's been almost a year and they're still all working and bright so well worth the $20.
