If you have a 1997 car then better go for Blaupunk Frankfurt RCM 82 DAB. Basically same stuff but will match your car more and has some additional features this one has not.
Bruh the last slideshow was some goat shitl! I was wondering if it would look as good on my W123 as it does on your M3 but those interior images answered the question right away. Blaupunkt just sold another stereo
I've bought this for my Volvo 240 and I think it will look really good. I haven't installed it yet, so I don't know what it sounds like but I'm so far really disappointed with the feel and the quality of the stereo unit. It has got a very plastic feel to it and the buttons doesn't feel nice to push. They also feel plastic and low quality. Though the worst is the volume button. It is very wobbly and has not got that solid feeling which I would like. I'm sure this stereo sounds great, but regarding the really expensive price this is a huge disappointment. At first I thought that there was something wrong with my unit, considering the wobbly volume button, but I got the unit replaced and the new one is exactly the same.
Since I had my own car, I only used Blaupunkt from Hamburg (with KeyCard) and Los Angeles. This time I'm pickier and my choices are only to keep the factory radio on or replace it with Blaupunkt Becker SQR 46 DAB. I understand that the front plastic part (black) practically remains as a cover while holding the stereo in place. Please tell us 'true dimensions' (that part of the stereo that slips into the stereo slot). I'd really hope to know if I could shave a little bit around the slot in my dash panel, if a tad too tight, or if the height and width are just right. What are the dimensions behind the front fascia, please? Thanks in advance.
That's a very good question not stupid at all. The worst kind is the ones that only do USB 2.0 4.5 watt power. It still charges low power devices, just very slowly.
@@Neojhun I had this same issue with a Sony head unit I stuck in to my old 996. Safe to say I wouldn’t do that today I would be look PCCM which looks great
Great video. I also have E30m3.. I bought this radio. Have you come across one where the color does not change when in the color change RGB menu function? Mine is staying green no matter which I tune in any direction.
I am considering this unit for my 1991 E30. In your video, once the unit is installed, it does not fit flush ( it sticks out a little). Is this due to the depth of the unit? I am wondering is there some modification I can make to my E30 to allow the unit to fit flush. Any ideas? Thanks
Hi, I have a problem with my Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 DAB. Sometimes the volume suddenly mutes by itself; turning up the volume again it immediately goes to zero. Turning the radio off and on again does not solve the problem. It is solved only by disconnecting and reconnecting the ISO connector. How can I fix? Thank you very much!
i would definitively consider this if it wasnt for the price tag, instead i decided to go all out and pick up a second hand pretty top of the line clarion component casette deck along with some period correct speakers, sure its not as practical but it sure as hell is fun
Was looking for something that would look “period correct” on my Mercedes W126, sure, there’s the cheaper Continental radio, but I feel it looks somewhat cheap. These are expensive for what they are though, but it really looks the part…
Posting for anyone curious about the current price. From amazon.ca $899 Canadian add another $100 if you need to pay tax but you get free shipping. The other single din radios from Blaupunkt are selling for $50 - $100. The radio looks nice but you aren't getting $1000 worth of radio. Its just a inflated price for the classic car market.
Can u connect the Blaupunk BEA 80 EQ to this unit? I have a 1990 944 S2 Porsche and would love to connect it if is compatible. if it is not compatible, what amp would you recommend?
That's the problem: no track / artist display on bluetooth!!! - i think that is really poor. Also im you start you car you have to push the "source" button 5 times to get to bluetooth, even if used previously.
If it had a real tape player and cost a lot less I might have considered buying it. However, as long as it is so expensive and lacks a real tape player, I have to stick to old stereos, which is not ideal because they are prone to break down. I can't understand why nobody has though of producing a real old-school stereo with a real tape player.
There's a larger consumer base for digital audio. I would love a CD player, too. Obviously not possible. I'll take thos over most aftermarket headunits. Continental makes a really nice retro headunit as well. Looks great in 996 Porsches Porsche even reproduced a stock looking NAV unit for the 996 Porsche. Expensive, but a very neat idea.
