All patches / presets come from the "Jexus Modwave Soundset" which contains all the sounds from all my UA-cam & Soundcloud demos. This is 180 performances + bonus variations, which means there is over 230 performances in total, which translates into more than 250 unique patches / sounds in total. You will also receive separate midi files of the sequences that I play in my demos. You can load the sequences into your DAW and pair them with the corresponding sounds (or any other sounds you choose!).
***A “performance” may be just a single sound, or it may contain two sounds which are layered or split into left and right zone of the keyboard. If you dislike a layer, you can deactivate it. If you like a layer, you can extract it from the performance and use it as a single sound or copy & paste it into any other performance. In most of the patches the red macro knobs control the EQ and / or a custom modulation destination.

No talking demo of Korg Modwave. I did not use any external FX in the demo; all the delays, reverbs, noises and other effects are part of the Modwave engine & mod matrix. I recorded my demo straight through an audio card. Also, you don’t need any custom wavetables or add-ons for my patches to work - just a standard Modwave / Native unit.

I want to see wc olo garb score a film!
"Flesh" reminds me of the Waldorf Q part 2 demo you did way back called "Up" still one of my all time favourites (and Waldorf road trip). You've been a constant reference point for our synth creations.
Thanks. Glad u like the sounds
Waldorf Q is one of my favorite sounding synths of all time. Would love to see what he can do with the Waldorf M.
This is the synth I was hoping you would review. Great job 👏! I love all of the patches.
Thanks
I was contemplating getting the Modwave... Now i'm Sold! Well Done and thank you Jexus for your inspirational patches.. My AN1x loves you btw :-D !
Sends kisses to the An1x
My AN1x as well :-)
Definitely a learning curve with some menu diving. But, this thing is pretty cool. May try again one day.
You need to check out the editor!
Awesome sounds, as always.
I've read your article about the modwave, really like your honesty.
I was wondering why you still didn't tryed the dreadbox typhon.
I would bet that this synth is (not only soundwise) exactly your cup of zubrowka ❤
Anyway, thanks for sharing your crazy sounds
Best presets!!!!!!! This is the best purchase I could ever buy.
Now I’m looking for something more… Something for a new “inner perspective”… 27 & 34?
I’m listening many ambient and dark ambient albums, some meditation pads… But I can’t find the key of what I have in my mind. 27 preset is one of my first stops. 139, 34…
Thanks for your great pack!
Sounds awesome. I gotta buy a mod wav!!
mod a wave, ocean 🌊
Just when I thought I didn't need any more synths
franckly i like it ....
thanks
I will buy this pack. I hope it isn’t very difficult 😂. First time I purchase a preset pack.
It's not difficult;) You can always ask me here for help or send me an e-mail.
Great soundscapes. Pure listening joy. It's the Modwave a pure Wavetable synthesizer? Cheers.
Thanks! What do you mean by 'pure'?
@@Jexus Hi. I mean, does it have wavetable OSC only, or is it a hybrid synth with an additional VA structure, like the Blofeld? (I'm getting really interested in this synth, despite the “weak" quality.) 😊
I already got the Blofeld, which is good for wavetable synthesis. Do you think, the Modwave is a great addition? Thank you a lot. And I hope my many questions don't annoy you. Cheers.
@@nichttuntun3364 Modwave is like the Blofeld in that it also has sawwave, pulse and sine that can be filtered, but it's not a VA synth because it is not designed to mimick analogue behavior. So they are both wavetable synths. But they sound really different. Blofeld is more raw & metallic, and Modwave is more soft & plastic, if you know what I mean;)
@@JexusThank you, I completely dig what you mean. You described its sound quite well. And yes, listening to the many Modwave videos, that sound indeed is plastically, less defined or less gnarly.
I think the Modwave will accomplish the Blofeld very good. I'll get a own unit this week, which I ordered over your Thomann aff.-link, although I have not a good opinion about these systems. But it was important to me supporting you. So I jumped over my shadow. 🤗
Cheers
@@nichttuntun3364 Thanks!! I hope you'll like your Modwave;)
So Jexus; opsix or modwave for you if you had to pick one?
Love your vid coverage and sound samples of both btw... in fact I was tilting towards modwave myself till I saw your opsix vids.. hadn't been persuaded of opsix by any other content up on YT.. so cheers for demo what it can do... much appreciated
Thanks! The Opsix inspired me to do more original stuff, so I'd keep the Opsix. The sounds that I got out of Modwave can be approximated with other wavetable synths.
@@Jexuswhat about the WaveState though?
@@HiGlowie Wavestate is more like a sampler / arranger to me.
I prefer my Blofled, I paid less new than what I could get a Modwave for, so makes no sense for me to invest in.
I know your patches will be great though so kudos for making them.
It's amazing that Blofeld is still in production after 14 years
Right on, I’ve been curious about the Blofeld. I picked up a Modwave a few months back (guitar center demo unit for $400) and am super excited to get this soundpack from @Jexus.
That said, would the Blofeld just be redundant to add to my synth setup?
Thus far I have - DeepMind 12D, Modwave, MiniNova(love the vocoder!), Roland SE-02&SH01A, Microfreak(CANNOT WAIT FOR 5.0 firmware update this month🤘🏼); also a Hologram Microcosm, Korg Kaossilator KP3 and a Zoom MS70CDR for some extra grooviness.
@@FnorDiskordRekords if you get the Blofeld keys, it has an awesome keybed, Fatar TP9 from memory.
The menu diving can be a bit tedious but it's a great sounding synth imo.
The keys on the Blofeld would be much better than any other keybeds you may have, I always used it as a master keybed.
I got mine super cheap new for the same $ what the module sells for.
@@dankeplace thanks for the reply! I do use Arturia’s Keystep Pro as a controller for my DeepMind 12d, Microfreak and Roland Boutique’s. I’m thinking the Blofeld module might be a better addition instead of the full keybed. Thoughts?
@@FnorDiskordRekords if you like the sound of the Blofeld and do not have a good keybed yet, the keybed is the best keybed I have used to date.
I would suggest checking one out in person if you can, they really are that good.
They weigh a ton and built like a brick sh*t house lol.
Do you need to purchase the VST for these to work, or does it work with the demo.
Hmmm... nobody asked that before and I don't have the demo version. I can send you one preset and you can check. If it works then you're safe with buying the whole:)
thanks that would be great, can I give u my email?@@Jexus
@@thiagogocrazy7234 so did u give me your email?
HI
I have just purshased your pack and it sounds great :)
But I found that some patches don't work.. no sound when triggering the keyboard
for exemple 043 and 044 (There is a few more), I tried to load another program in the layers and even randomize tho whole performance , but still no sound ... it's like the performance is stuck ...
Another exemple on the patch 063, only the layer B work till THE C4 but layer B don't emit any sound before C4 according to the key zone you mapped the layers
The 063 version B don't work on any layer
I also tried to remove this particular performance with the editor, and import it again, but still the same behaviour ...
Did I miss something ?
I'm on the modwave MKI latest firmware (1.1.3)
Thanks!
Hmm... two of the patches we're talking about are played by me in this video, 043 @2:36 and 063 @6:17. They are both arpeggiated sounds. Might have to do something with your clock / trigger settings. Try to reset your Modwave to factory settings. Also, I remember having problems with the Modwave when there were too many patches onboard and the memory was overloaded. Also, you can pick a single performance (for exampe 044), rename it into "ZXC" and drag & drop it via your modwave librarian into a different memory slot and see if that helps. These sounds work on mine and everybody else's Modwave so this must be a question of your particular unit. PS. Please drop me an e-mail with a detailed description of that issue and I'll ask Korg support about it.
@@Jexus Thanks mate for the hint !
My clock setting in MIDI was set to "External" for my setup.
Setting it to "Internal" or "Auto" solve the problem when playing the Modwave alone.
I can now enjoy all the performances !
Me: "it's been a while since he hasn't played a NIN part in a demo...."
Jexus: 12:14
Me: 😁😈
It's hard to stop oneself even after all these years, but as you can see, it's been relegated to the outskirts;)
Isn’t 6:28 also a NIN patch??

Waveshit,i wanr one .
What I find really annoying about this synth, is that you can't delete the factory presets.. it's so inconvenient to select the presets because you have all those not really good factory presets
I've used factory presets and made really good beats with them, just gotta do a lot of scrolling, the most recent beat I made on my channel is with demo presets idk if its ur style but its pretty good.
MOdwave sounds great , to bad the key bed is junky super cheap plastic.
Yeah, probably Korg's tactics to lower the street price.
