And here we are in 2022 and still no bridge. 😪
Thank the Lord
2024
Phone his majesty and request a relocation of London bridge or a suitably sized construction for motorists
So what's the latest verdict?
I suppose the most financial way is to build the bridge from south of Russell to the Gold Coast (who knows, the Gold Coast might consider improving things like internet and infrastructure)
Bridge to Stradbroke via MBI’s is obvious.
Finally the Island communities needs are being listened to, now we need some action first by the State Government on this desperately needed bridge then follow up infrastructure by the Redland City Council.
what a loa d of shit even 7 years later
the bridge quote was 116 millionAUD
Having lived on the island and having to go to work everyday (yes i lived on Russell and had a job and went every day) the money in ferry fares alone is quite taxing. What I have been saying for years is make the bridge a TOLL BRIDGE. The islanders don't want a Sydney Harbor bridge, just a low bridge (like the old Hornibrook one to Redcliffe) to get their cars and goods in and out. Even if the toll was on par with the ferry People would use it and the bridge would take a long time to pay off but with the property there for sale, it would generate a massive boom in prices for the long time land owners. What does everyone else think?
5 years ago, still no bridge , no sign of it
@@nelburrows8020 we dont need a bridge!!! it will never happen our island isnt big enough...if ya want a bridge move to mainland
I live on a island because it's a island with no bridge
great idea. But 'wine glass Peter' should be long gone.....
If a bridge were built , it wouldn't be an option, it would be the only way :( and create infrastructure nightmares.(Parking and road creation issues especially)
AND we need to make sure the land owners of RI are the ones who are actually asked !!!
2023 still no bridge
not feasible. Not a big enough island
NONSENSE
Now ,if only we can find a stateman that would push for our bridge without shafting the rate payers of the islands to pick up AGAIN state infrastucture
