Merry Christmas! Thanks for all your great videos! I'm starting to get more serious about 'fine' woodworking rather than general home repairs and restorations and your videos have given me lots of great ideas with how to do that on a budget!
I thought of likening your comment but! Must insist on disliking due to the fact........ you did not share your bacon sarnie with me🤔😉😂🤣😂, ok 👍🏻 I liked anyway for the thought of bacon
Thanks for showing us this. I have never seen this kind of star before. Thanks to your instruction I've learned how and will be teaching my grandchildren
2:15 Don't worry about what is and isn't a 'proper' woodworking project - personally I enjoy all your content, it's always creative and entertaining and I always come away feeling like I learned something new. Happy Holidays Neil.
It's wood. It looks like work... It's workworking. 😎 Whoa, that bacon snowflake is seriously gorgeous! Actually, this looks like a great papercraft project to do with kids at church. Thanks!
Thank you for not doing another boring CNC carved holiday ornament video available for purchase on the maker's website......brilliant scrapwood project! Merry Christmas Neil!
That’s beyond cool! And indeed, hot glue is the clear choice here... though I imagine pop rivets would be great if you wanted added permanence and badass bling.
This was the video when I decided I need a hand plane! That sent me down a rabbit hole of woodworking ideas and hoarding and the upgrade of my workshop with the intermediate goal of doing these snowflakes for Christmas 2024. I’m still some way to go with being able to properly use the plane, but I’m still hopeful.
I love this project. Even though I don't have a plane or the wood, I can still make some with wood-grain contact paper. Thank you for sharing this project - it'll look great on my porch. I'm looking forward to the next ones.
Neil another cracking idea 💡. Really easy to make but that said... Honestly how many people would have even had the idea to even try to make the star's this way?. Not many if any at all!!!. As always Neil now I'm looking forward to seeing the next scrapwood challenge episode 💯% 👍🇬🇧.
As the wife would say and excellent DUST COLLECTOR - Wood Origami An excellent project and a superb decoration. All I did in the past was use paper to make chains. All the best to you and your family.
It turned out absolutely fantastic. I have been making these snowflake for a couple of years now I thought you were nuts when I read the caption but it's absolutely beautiful
I absolutely love this! I might try this with 'wood grain' adhesive book plastic and some red paper. Or then again, I might go find that low-angle plane and some nice offcuts.
some 12v lightbulbs in there and a different methode for putting them together and you have a perfect light for above your dinning table or breakfast bar, nicely done
Pask brings some much needed Christmas cheer! I don't know how he keeps coming up with new ideas for the scrapwood challenge, but I'm sure glad he does.
I thought I will never like or love any Christmas-tree decorations made of straw.... But this snowflake made me reconsider my mind. 👍 Also it's "scrab" you made something very special of it. With a lot of patience and understanding how to treat wood. Thank you. Waiting for the next 7. Stay safe and sound. Have a wonderful Christmas time.🎅
One of the things I like about you and your videos Neil, is how you get this excited smile on your face as the project comes together at the end (9:57 this time) well done.
Not a real woodworking video ? I disagree , I see Wood , I see a planer , I see planer working on wood = WOODWORKING ! This is Great ! I always love your videos. Keep up the good work and have the greatest of holidays !
7 days of scrap wood challenge?!? That's like an awesome woodworking advent calendar. Thank you! I really liked this video. I love the scrap wood challenge series in general and more creative and less traditional they are, the more I like them. I'm especially impressed by the plane shaving videos like this one. Turning something most people think of as trash into something beautiful is an inspiring thing.
This is why you are one of my favorite makers Neil. To most its dumb I guess, but seeing how easy that was makes me wanna go get a plane out and start making shavings. My brain just got excited wanting to make one. Or 30.....lol Great work as always. Looking forward to tomorrow's video.
I think those would look super awesome with silver/gold or sparkly red/green on one side and the wood on the other. I love this idea!! Thank you so much for a fun project!!! Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas.
Very cool WOODWORKING project. I did think the contrasting one was really good. I think I might just go ahead and steal this idea and hang them up in my house. Awesome video. Thanks for the great idea.
2:15 Well, I hope nobody will complain about a lack of wood working projects on your channel ^^ much apprechiate the creativity! keep up the good work :)
I missed this one back then, but this is really nice! This method of gluing shavings to a stabilizing material seem really versatile to make good looking pieces! And like others said, it is proper wood working to me! If wood+epoxy pieces still count, wood and processed wood pieces should count too!
I really like this project. They look very well made, all considering. I think it would be festive to put some L E D lights on them and show them off in a window. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays, Felix.
Once again you have inspired me! Though this time it is to get up and start frying up a half pound of bacon................. Seriously, another amazing creation - thanks for sharing it!
I'm so happy to see you back sir! I'm a primary caregiver in COVID denial country in Texas and your videos are Zen to my exhausted, disillusioned mind. I can't express what a wonderful distraction you've cheerfully been through all this.
Amazing work creating something really beautiful out of virtually nothing as always! The big sheet of veneer looks like a tasty tray of bacon. I recon if you use rice paper and maple syrup as glue, you've got yourself as good a vegan bacon as anything.
You made a beautiful poinsettia. I've been watching your videos for a long time. It is always nice with the accuracy and dedication with which you make the parts. Merry Christmas from Mannheim Germany
I love your channel so much and I’ve literally only made one of your projects (so far.) I made the ladder and it’s sturdy af. This video made me laugh bc you said “there’s nothing wrong with experimenting now and again” which is EXACTLY how our 74 year old dad came out to our family as gay! I just laugh and laughed at the phrase bc it reminded me of him.
I love it, and the simplicity. I look forward to making some of these with my daughter. I also look forward to daily videos for the next 6 days! Great work, sir.
Day 1 Seven Scrapwood Challenge Videos in Seven Days. Check back tomorrow for the next one! :)
Merry Christmas! Thanks for all your great videos! I'm starting to get more serious about 'fine' woodworking rather than general home repairs and restorations and your videos have given me lots of great ideas with how to do that on a budget!
Yes one every day!! I love these videos!
Finally! It has been while since your last video! I am looking forward to your next scrap wood challenges! Be blessed!
In my book there were woodworking skills involved.
Yay scrap wood challenge!!!!! Love these Neil thanks
Alternative title: Man bastes bacon rashers with Greek yoghurt
Hahaha! I see where you went with that,,,,,,,, good one👍🏻
👌
Mmmmm 🥓🥓🥓 🤤🤤🤤
No, no... that video has a totally different intro.
I'm sure it exists somewhere already.
Mmmmmm.....bacon....
What better news can there be, 7 days of scrapwood challenge, i'm already excited! 👌🏼👌🏼
Erm! 8 days perhaps 🤭🤭
My first thought too. 7more vids!!!
When you think about it, this is basically a snowflake made from really thin home-made plywood, totally woodworking! :D
Excellent point!
Who says it isn't woodworking? Great stuff. I'm looking forward to the rest of the videos
Love the camera on the plain, watching the shavings curl and the sound.
I shot that with my phone and it came out much better than I thought it would! :)
You missed your pun here in thought it 'WOOD'!
So totally loving this!
I had an uncontrollable urge to make a bacon sarnie while watching this....
Educate me please, WHAT is a bacon sarnie? Sounds good, smoked meat is always a good choice, add a hog in to the mix, and we are in heaven.
I thought of likening your comment but! Must insist on disliking due to the fact........ you did not share your bacon sarnie with me🤔😉😂🤣😂, ok 👍🏻 I liked anyway for the thought of bacon
@@dmg4415 It's a bacon sandwich.
MMMMMMMMMM - bacon. Now I have to go make some!
@@dmg4415 Bacon _sandwich_
Well I'm blowed! A curvy wooden snowflake! Keep pushing those boundaries, Mr Pask!! ❄️🌳❄️🌳
Thanks for showing us this. I have never seen this kind of star before. Thanks to your instruction I've learned how and will be teaching my grandchildren
It's going to be a good week.
Another Scrap wood challenge!!!!!
Everything about that makes me happy🥳
Very nice and of course it’s a Woodworking project you’re working with wood and making a good job
2:15 Don't worry about what is and isn't a 'proper' woodworking project - personally I enjoy all your content, it's always creative and entertaining and I always come away feeling like I learned something new. Happy Holidays Neil.
1. That was amazing!
2. What a Christmas present...a video per day until Christmas
3. Will be waiting for tomorrow's video.
Cheers Santa Pask!!
It's wood. It looks like work... It's workworking. 😎
Whoa, that bacon snowflake is seriously gorgeous!
Actually, this looks like a great papercraft project to do with kids at church. Thanks!
Plane cam - a great addition to the channel
Great to hear the scrapwood song again
You’re working with wood, so it is proper woodworking. It just isn’t carpentry.
But what if you glue this to a door? Now it is carpentry too!
Thank you for not doing another boring CNC carved holiday ornament video available for purchase on the maker's website......brilliant scrapwood project! Merry Christmas Neil!
Everything you make is so beautiful. Can’t wait to see the rest of the snowflakes.
Why does hearing the scrapwoord challenge intro make me so happy? Almost feels like coming home
Not sure but it makes me happy that it makes you happy! :)
That’s beyond cool! And indeed, hot glue is the clear choice here... though I imagine pop rivets would be great if you wanted added permanence and badass bling.

That is possibly the best Christmas woodworking video I've ever seen. Great Job!
7 videos in 7 days?!?! Hell yeah!!!!
I think the snowflake looks great. Definitely a cool use of scrapwood.
found it remarkable you are developing a new way of showing your craftmanship off I am proud you are outside of the build practices of woodworking
That is totally proper wood working. It is made of wood and it looks great! That makes it proper if you ask me.
Seeing this pop up in my notifications made me super happy!! Great Video and thank you Neil!!
On the FIRST day of Scrapwood week Neil made something neat! A snowflake, cut from shavings!
I loved the original scrapwood challenging... thanks for bringing it back for the holidays
Please never apologize for having fun. Love all your videos. Best of the season to you and yours.
Truly a woodworking project, It's wood and you are working it.
Pask, simple and creative as always. Number one ideas, thank you!
As the wife would say and excellent DUST COLLECTOR - Wood Origami
An excellent project and a superb decoration. All I did in the past was use paper to make chains.
All the best to you and your family.
It turned out absolutely fantastic. I have been making these snowflake for a couple of years now I thought you were nuts when I read the caption but it's absolutely beautiful
I want this wooden snowflake. Absolutely beautiful.
I absolutely love this!
I might try this with 'wood grain' adhesive book plastic and some red paper.
Or then again, I might go find that low-angle plane and some nice offcuts.
On the first day of Paskmas my true Neil sent to me...
That's really clever. Amazing results .
I was missing the old scrapwood intro.
Not seen you use it in ages.
some 12v lightbulbs in there and a different methode for putting them together and you have a perfect light for above your dinning table or breakfast bar, nicely done
The veneer is gorgeous!! I may use just that part for future projects. Thanks for a great idea!
This is amazing. The beauty of the grain and color would work on other projects as well.
You made it by hand. It's made from wood. Sounds like a proper wood working project to me. Looks amazing as well.
Pask brings some much needed Christmas cheer! I don't know how he keeps coming up with new ideas for the scrapwood challenge, but I'm sure glad he does.
That is a lovely decoration. And I'm quite amused that you're making a snowflake in the middle of the Australian summer.
Also funny when you see 2m high blow up Santas, and dolphins pulling Santa and his sleigh :-))
Aussie snowflakes are not so easy to offend as the European or N American snowflake.
I thought I will never like or love any Christmas-tree decorations made of straw.... But this snowflake made me reconsider my mind. 👍
Also it's "scrab" you made something very special of it.
Mister Pask Makes, you are a champion. Very lovely result with very simple things. Congratulations. Hervé. (from France).
Awesome 🤩
Didn't know Greek yogurt glows that good...
Not a real woodworking video ? I disagree , I see Wood , I see a planer , I see planer working on wood = WOODWORKING ! This is Great ! I always love your videos. Keep up the good work and have the greatest of holidays !
Wow, beautiful. Difficult for me to comprehend anything so lovely as made from scrap wood. It looks top shelf.
Seven days of videos from you is a real Christmas treat indeed. I hope you and your family are safe and happy.
Beautiful and creative. Who knew hand planer shaving could be used for crafting. You never cease to amaze. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
7 days of scrap wood challenge?!? That's like an awesome woodworking advent calendar. Thank you!

Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas.
Can we all agree to call you The Wizzard of Aus from now on ? This is quite magical !
I come for the theme song, stay around too see what neat stuff you are going to build. Merry Christmas Mate
Absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to do this one for all my family and friends.
Very cool WOODWORKING project. I did think the contrasting one was really good. I think I might just go ahead and steal this idea and hang them up in my house. Awesome video. Thanks for the great idea.
A damn fine something from damn near nothing! Well done young fella! Thanks for sharing!
Those shavings are so satisfying.
Merry Christmas to you too. Lovely!
That’s absolutely beautiful. Great project.

Thank you :) Merry Christmas.
That was such a cute and wonderful build! I can't wait for the other six! 🥰
Well done Neil! Beautiful!
Beautiful piece as usual. Your scrap wood challenges are the best. My wife sings the jingle from the intro to me...🤦🏼♂️...lol
Very nice indeed Neil. I've never seen these snowflakes before, so I'll have to have a go at making some... even if it is only using paper or card :)
I don't have a plane so paper will have to do! I can hang them in my windows.
Technically, paper is wood, so ...
I missed this one back then, but this is really nice! This method of gluing shavings to a stabilizing material seem really versatile to make good looking pieces!
And like others said, it is proper wood working to me! If wood+epoxy pieces still count, wood and processed wood pieces should count too!
Lots of woodworkers out there, but you have a special creative ability that's simply inspiring. Thank you!
I really like this project. They look very well made, all considering. I think it would be festive to put some L E D lights on them and show them off in a window.
Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays, Felix.
I don't have a wood planer so I can make it with paper. Hot glue can be a GOOD woodworking tool! This is just SO very cool.
Happy Holidays to all!
Good job, congratulations.
God bless you.
Once again you have inspired me! Though this time it is to get up and start frying up a half pound of bacon.................
Seriously, another amazing creation - thanks for sharing it!
Very Pask-like: simple, creative, and beautiful. Cheers, mate.
Felices fiestas para ti y para tu familia. Un abrazo desde Andalucía. España
I'm so happy to see you back sir!
I'm a primary caregiver in COVID denial country in Texas and your videos are Zen to my exhausted, disillusioned mind.
I can't express what a wonderful distraction you've cheerfully been through all this.
This crazy Aussie is making snowflakes in summer! 😂
Absolutely, this is a proper woodworking project. You worked the wood using a plane and other tools. loved it and thanks for sharing.
Amazing work creating something really beautiful out of virtually nothing as always! The big sheet of veneer looks like a tasty tray of bacon. I recon if you use rice paper and maple syrup as glue, you've got yourself as good a vegan bacon as anything.
watching here from Philippines, good job Pask
Pask is always so inspiring
Watching you lay out the shavings made me hungry. It looked a lot like bacon strips. 😁
You made a beautiful poinsettia. I've been watching your videos for a long time. It is always nice with the accuracy and dedication with which you make the parts. Merry Christmas from Mannheim Germany
Top level woodworking to have super sharp plane and dry wood....
👍🏻👍🏻 AMAZING, that was BEAUTIFUL ! 💖💖💖💖💖
Truly impressive, looking forward to the next one.
A wooden snowflake in Queensland, 'bout as close as you get to real snow, as always nice work. Cheers
You really are an artist. Congratulations.
Very strange - warm looking snowflake! But looks really awesome! Thank you for video!!!
Wonder if you steam ironed the shavings first might make the glue up on to the paper a bit easier.
Maybe but it wasn't too difficult anyway. I do think making the individual squares was easier and more manageable though. :)
I love it, and the simplicity. I look forward to making some of these with my daughter. I also look forward to daily videos for the next 6 days! Great work, sir.
That is gorgeous, I can't wait to see what is next.
