One hundred and fifty years ago in rural France, a girl collecting wood in a cave saw a vision of the Virgin Mary. From then on Lourdes, last chance saloon to the faithful and Catholic Disneyland to others, has boomed.
Peadar Clarke was immobile due to Multiple Sclerosis and given four years to live when, he says, he was cured by the Virgin in his hotel room at Lourdes. I’ve been Lourdes France twice when I was a little boy and when I was with my mom and now I may I have to go back because I feel sick like I have seizures still killing me and I need to go back to Lourdes to be cured and I can be seizure free and I feel sick with the seizures

Lourdes is very much about having faith and prayer. It’s not a guarantee to being healed. Some are, and most are not. St Bernadette suffered her entire life until her death. The spring water was not for her. But Lourdes is about something much more than healing of the body.

We can only imagine the interest and concern that these events caused among the religious and civil authorities, especially since after the three initial cures occurred, many more cures followed.
