    Few additional notes:
    - put metcon either after strength training or on separate days.
    - for strength work, use an intensity/weight that puts you within 2 reps of technical failure for the given reps.
    - for direct ab work, I recommend taking the last set to complete failure.

    Pat, I also use KB complexes for metcon training, but I take movements like presses close to failure. And once the weight feels light I add to the load. Is this a bit too much on a program like this?

      I definitely don’t think it’s necessary to sets to failure with metcon, and I wouldn’t do it most times, but, occasionally, sure. Why not?
