This has swiftly become one of my favorite shows/podcasts - first for the philosophy, close second for the fitness. Seriously top teir content. It amazes me that your youtube videos don't get 10x as many views, but it may be that your typical listeners, like me, are more likely to go for the audio downloads than the video content - so they can get other things done while consuming it
As far as “bang for my buck”, & a quick go-to complex, I’ve always been a fan of one of your early routines called “The Revolver”. “The Big 5” also rules. Pavel’s “Simple & Sinister” is great as well(100 swings + 10 get-ups).
Hey Pat greetings from Germany, follow your channel since a while and watched all/most of your OG videos. Your explanations and executions are so clean and nice. Love your KB stuff, keep up the good work :)
I have found that a great option for keeping the load heavier for the lower body but light enough for the press is to substitute a jerk for the strict press. This allows you to keep the weight heavier. If you want to keep a strict press then you could alternate the jerk with the strict press on alternate days. So you have a lighter day and heavier day for the lower body.
@@supmuhhumbruh I like it because you can stick to one complex that hits everything. I like double kettlebells because it keeps it heavy and takes less time. With my busy lifestyle (5 kids) it allows me to get in a full body work out 3-4 days a week in about 10-15 minutes at a time whenever I have time in the day. It's fun and gives me energy rather than taking it from me. All of which make it easy to stick to. I do mobility routine every morning for about 10 minutes and then get in a kettlebell complex 3-4 days a week and it keeps me healthy......as long as I'm eating healthy that is 😂😂.
Pat, haha you should be called the KKB. King of kettle bells! I've actually learned so much more about kettle bell exercises from you. I didn't think they were awesome as they actually are until I stumbled upon your content on it. I would say these are excellent ideas for workouts although even with the first round would be challenging for the novice. It is a nice workout to build up to for sure. I haven't tried all of the workouts but the 9 minute endurance ideas caught my attention, I will have to see how I fair doing that though. Ha - I'm excited!
Just listened to this podcast today, can't wait to try these. What are your thoughts on german volume training using kettlebells? I've been doing it for 2 weeks now. 2x32kg deadlifts 10x10, 2x20kg overhead press 10x10, 2x24kg bent rows 10x10, 2x20kg incline bench press 10x10, 2x24kg front squat 10x10? Each on a different day, am I wasting my time trying to do these compound movements with kettlebells or is it worth sticking at? On the 6th day I also do a routine of Russian twists, farm carry, push ups, chin ups and figure 8's and dips.
Please comment YOUR favorite "go-to"/"bang-for-buck" kettlebell routine! Also, you can catch videos of most of the routines mentioned in today's episode at: www.chroniclesofstrength.com/the-best-bang-for-buck-kettlebell-workouts-5-minimalist-routines/
i like the Fibonacci but when i have no time whatsoever i use Pavel's Quiick & the Dead because: "From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead" {7th article of the Credo} ^^;;;;
For me the simplest has to be swings and push ups. I usually do descending ladder sets from 10 to 1. When it gets too easy I’ll increase the intensity by upping the bell weight and using a resistance band or weighted vest. About once a month when I’m feeling adventurous I will try what Dan John calls the eagle. 8 double kb front squats then farmer walk the bells 20 metres and repeat that 8 times without putting the bells down. Simple but not easy and true to Dans words that goal is not often met.
I am new to your channel Pat. Referred by Dan John. I see that you have loads of content. I am an experienced "kettlebeller" always up for a challenge. I signed up for your newsletter but otherwise where does one begin?
Hi Dave! Glad to hear you decided to join the email list. Do me a favor: probably you have gotten an introductory email from me. Hit reply to that, and let’s take it from there. I’m much better at email responses than social media : )
I do kettlebell two-handed swings, then kettelebell front squats and finally standard push-ups. 10 repeats each. Everything between 6 and 20 rounds. I think it works the whole body. Any thoughts?

That is a very kind remark, thank you.

Yep, great suggestion. That’s definitely a solid way to ensure there isn’t a major intensity mismatch when pairing upper and lower body exercises.

Should these types of workouts be added to other training’s daily?
I like kb snatch, banded push ups, Goblet Squat 30-50 reps each finished with farmers walk

Simple & Sinister, and Dan's Armor Building Complex are my two go-to routines with some OS & heavy carries for waking up my body.

The Great Destroyer is my favorite! 2 rounds of that and I'm cooked!
If you don’t mind as it helps me visualize in the real world.
How tall are you? And what is your weight?
Thanks

I can dig it!
Despite being minimalist, some of these have a fairly high skill threshold.
Yes, that is true. Minimalist but not necessarily beginner.
2x20kg on The Great Destroyer = FML 😆
Yeah that’s tough!
2x16kg is brutal enough, I can't imagine it with 20's.
