I followed bmws break-in rpm recommendations while constantly varying speed/rpm and my s1krr has 72k miles and still rips flawlessly as a full time track bike.
Mate quick one I got my s1000RR 2023 3 days ago I did not know your break in and heat cycle but I turn it on from the dealership drive steady as the dealership dive not to exceed 4 rpm after the first 100 km I start doing your way but slightly less aggressive I did not exceed 8 rpm I’ll do the oil change at the first 1000 km what do u think While the manual says almost your way
Per manual: While running in the motorcycle, vary the throttle opening and engine-speed range frequently; avoid driving for longperiods at a constant speed. Choose curvy, slightly hilly sections of road if possible. 125 Observe the engine run-in speeds. Engine run-in speed
Hmm... I just rode like normally would - put in 1000miles before taking to the dealer (dealer recommended 1000mi prior to break in service) during this time I have raved to the max i.e. 8k limit quite few times. My bike runs fine it's at 3k miles now- the next oil change will be done per BMW recommend which 6k mi. I just don't know changing oil that often is worth it- since BMW does not ask for it. Maybe I'm doing it incorrectly idk.
I thought you were going to include the theory behind your methodology - improving the seal between the piston rings and cylinder surfaces? What’s the most miles you have put on an engine broke in by your method as these days you seem to change bikes I dare say more often than most of us? 🇬🇧🏍
We sorta cover both in the video, and even suggest to go check out the motoman video for the science behind it 😂 Our 2007 GSXR had 25k miles when we sold it.
Question bud, did you use non-synthetic oil like moto man suggests? What oils did you use at your first couple of intervals and what is your long-term go-to oil? Thanks! Great channel, keep up the good work! 💯
I too am a big fan of Motoman's Method. Sorry to say the critical item you missed is mating the rings and other moving parts BEFORE they become hardened by tempering (heat cycling). Yes warm the bike up but then ride immediately using Motoman's method. procedure

👍
Harley guys are very careful, they keep the bike under 6000 rpms for the whole lifetime!
Gold!!
You don't know anyone from Wisconsin do you ? Plenty of wide open throttlin goin on . 😉😎🤘

Great common sense approach to breaking in the bike. Can't wait to see it on the track!
Stay tuned, double chuckwalla track day coming up soon!

Yup same here, some slight variation, also incorporate = amount of engine braking during the first few 100 miles- btw that color scheme looks great!
Thanks, really loving it!
I agree with ‘exercising’ the motor. Avoid that constant rpm or heavy loading.
👌
2024 and I will follow this method ❤ thanks for sharing
I would double check if you plan on flash tuning. All 2022 bikes built after July 2021 have locked ECU’s!
All ECUs are technically "locked". We'll find out shortly if this one is different and if we'll be able to tune it.
Hi Bill👋🏻 I did as BMW recommended in the owners manual. And it matches what you do with your beemer👍 Ride on 😀🏍👍.
👌👌👌
hello sir

We ride our bikes a loooot harder than most. Cheapest insurance to keep the engine happy are frequent oil changes.
Nice bike bro hope to get one soon 👍 ride safe can't wait till you fully mod that beast....... ride safe
Fingers crossed for you! Will do.

Thanks for posting. Different strokes for different folks. ;)
True to that.
Windscreen link pls :)
WRS from motomillion.
Have always broke in my bikes in a similar fashion. 👍👍
👍👍👍 Nice
Damn thing is a bucking bronco lol, what was the issue?
Wheels were not properly balanced.
My dealer said 4000 for first 300 miles then 9000 for next 300 miles

We used what it came with from the factory, then motul 300v from there on
@@CaliMotoTV Great, thanks! When you did your 100 mile, is that when you switched to Motul? Or did you use BMW factory until the 600 mile?
