I was having the same problem and have tried this fix and other methods I am solving this by buying a better and easier to work with trimmer I shouldn’t have to keep stopping just to get the job done
That will help me, I have a chain fence, & a fenced in dog lot, that eats up line, but for the edging, & other weed eating this will work nicely. Thanks
How do you get the string to auto advance? My yard is thick and eats up the string.. I would have to re do it every 3 or 4 minutes manually if I did it that way.
Tried it and it still came out after running for like a minute. Then used the four hooks (two on each side to stay longer. I could basically go for like 2 minutes before they pop out. I would then have to remove it to hook em again. Maybe I am using the wrong string thickness (0.8")? Idk. But that's my situation. It's a hassle using this trimmer.
This helped, you’re the goat for these.
Hart should hire you

Thank you for the information. How does the string automatically extend? The bottom of mine does not push up to allow the string to extend.
I know you posted this 7 months ago, but I think this is actually a way to circumvent the string automatically extending to save your string.
Thank you!!
Thanks!!

How long does the battery last for you ?

Ensure you have strings well wrapped on the spool. Then you two of the hooks to hold the end out to the hole on the spool house.
Why does my string keep on getting longer? I don't get it
Can I add a wheel to mine?
If to make it higher, yes!
Then it breaks and doesn't feed
