    Just got a Sire V7 5 string alder and love it! Fit and finish outstanding. Did not need a set up, perfectly adjusted. Lots of power and great tone.

    Finally a guy that doesn't use a fucking noise mute on the neck of his bass, and that assumes the sound of his sliding fingers!! THANKS;

      That is one of my biggest pet peeves. I think players that use them are being fucking lazy. If I click on a video see one of those things on the player's bass, I don't even bother watching.

    I watched a Marcus Miller concert video from 5 months ago (it is Dec 2019) and he played a Fender Jazz for most of it with a token appearance by his Sire. That should tell you something.

    • @elvendale
      @elvendale 4 роки тому +3

      Yeah that tells me that if you want to play with a better bass you need 3000$ more to buy a used Fender Marcus (discontinued) signature bass or 2000$ for a similar to SIRE new Fender Jazz bass.
      Dont forget that the fender you saw is a 2001 model....

    • @2Timone7
      @2Timone7 4 роки тому +1

      Panos Tabourlos The point is that Marcus could play any bass he wants and he still chooses the Fender for most songs. I’m not saying the Sire is not a good bass. I am saying, Fender is still preferred by professionals who can afford it.

    Pretty cool...however the Marcus Miller Signature Fender is one of the coolest Fenders you can get--in my opinion.

    Hi, How low can you set the action on say the 12 fret of the Sire v 7. My US Jazz bass is set about 2.4mm for the E string at the 12 fret the G string 2mm according to the string action ruler. If I lower the saddle more for lower action the notes buzz after the 12 fret. But feels great at say between 1 and 7 frets so therefore I am a great fan of very low action. Would the Sire v 7 then suit me? Thanks..

    • @claudiohohagen
      @claudiohohagen 6 років тому

      Hi, my Sire is set at 2mm/12th fret/E string and 1.8mm/12th fret/G string with 45-105 strings (actually I can go lower than that with D'Addarios with no fret buzz, but I'm trying a set of low tension Labellas at the moment so I raised the strings a little). I think that your US Jazz Bass could be set as low as my Sire with a pro setup if it's in good condition, you should try and take it to a good tech, the buzz after the 12th fret indicates that the neck of your bass needs to be set up.

    Is this bass nonprofessional instrument, because the price is 500 euro? Do do you think all professional basses must have high price? Oh no. You have big prejudice on price. I have 8 basses include Sire v7 vintage, Fender deluxe 2012, Sadowsky metro and Mayones Jabba Custom, but v7 sounds are the best for me now.

    • @basstheworldofficial
      @basstheworldofficial  7 років тому +1

      +64jazz we used a Neve 1073 style preamp during the recording. Later I added a bit of compression and a cabinet simulation, but just a little bit - 15 (cab)/85 (direct) maybe. That's it

    Gregor, I think you should review the Sire Vintage V7 too, it sounds very very much more like the Fender Marcus Miller due to the 70's spacing, i hope the guys at the Sire send you one of the Vintage V7! 😀

    Sounds like it's a very good bass. The thing I don't like about these "reviews" is that they don't show full instrument potential. Less slap, less talking, more playing!!!

    My V7 has huge battery depletion issues (they last TWO days). Pretty unhappy with both Sire and Thomann's "support"... "don't forget to unplug your instrument". Too bad because the bass itself is awesome...

    • @evilevil390
      @evilevil390 7 років тому +1

      I got myself a V7 vintage model and I admit I wasn't impressed, the hype around this bass is unreal... I loved the sound but the neck just ain't for me. Not to mention frets were poking out a bit. It also had some cosmetic issues (some leftover black paint under the lacquer) but I'm aware this is only a minor issue.

    • @BMaxey
      @BMaxey 7 років тому +4

      I have three and all were much better than the average Fender (sub $1200) in quality and came very close to USA quality. Fret sprout can happen to $10k basses too.

    • @Somelights_NL
      @Somelights_NL 7 років тому +4

      Guys, I don't care of the quality to be honest, I meant the sound is shitty, too much glass and agressive highs!

    • @BMaxey
      @BMaxey 7 років тому +8

      That can be tamed with EQ, but, to be fair Marcus Miller has a lot of aggressive highs. But to each their own.

    • @Somelights_NL
      @Somelights_NL 7 років тому +3

      No man, this is not just EQ, maple and ash sounds very agressive in highs by default, any luthier can tell that. Marcus Miller has the most shittiest sound that I've heard in my life.
