YOU ARE A LIFESAVER!! because of your videos, I am now busy starting a cake business here in South Africa. I am an Accountant, not a chef, but I learn so much and people love it! THANKS so much for these videos!!
Jemma I feel like I've almost mastered buttercream and I've made great cupcakes too! because of watching your frosting techniques and using the grams for the good butter and sugar and milk it's just been amazing and I've been baking for years and I love it but thank you so much!
hey Jemma, could you do a video about the different kinds of sugar, what to use them for and what they do in a cake or cookie. I'm sometimes a bit confused about the different kinds like dark brown, light brown, demerara, white sugar, etc. greetings and lots of love :) 💕
Just want to say a massive Thankyou Gemma .. I have managed to make a 4 layer sponge cake and iced it with your famous buttercream and finished it off with a choc ganache drip .. it looks amazing and my whole family are shocked to the core .., I couldn’t of done any of it without watching your amazing videos ! Thankyou so much my daughter is going to love her b day cake ... oh and I’ve never made a cake before in my life 😊 x
I seriously love you Jemma, I'm a baker too and besides being inspired by your videos I feel so at home & so good just watching you spread joy in the form of yumminess. Thank you
Hi Jemma ... I learn alot from u .. now I manage to bake my family's birthday and special occasion. All bcoz of u so amazing and talented person. Thank you so much.
Patisserie Boy. I will never understand why the cups measurements are so popular in some countries. It's so much more accurate to work in weight rather than volume. Love your comment!
Hi, Jemma. Can you please please please do a video about how much icing do we need if we're making different sizes of cakes or if we're combining stuff from different recipes. I do this quite often and I never know how much I need 😑. Love your channel and the recipes ❤ xo
Really good request! Usually a regular buttercream batch makes way more for 12 standard cupcakes or even a 2 inch cake. And you cant really save it for quite long or just eat with a spoon like pudding!! Often I find baffled how much to use for a 4 layer cake or a bigger 10 inch cake.
4.bp.blogspot.com/-J39aP6kcR1U/UahRnKjCFiI/AAAAAAAAMZk/LvQm0kzjxZw/s1600/tablica.jpg - Here You can see a table how to calculate the measurements for different sized cakes. On the left is your recipe, on the top is the cake that You are making. It works really good for me.
Hi Jemma, from India. Today I followed your above tutorial to the T, and hey, got an excellent chocolate drip icing onto my devilish chocolate cake!!!!For a first timer it wasn't bad at all. EVERYONE loved it!!! thank you so very much. I am an ardent fan.
THANK YOU...getting back into business after many years and never did this before... it's gorgeous and I'm excited to be baking again and have this to use too Today is March 26, 2022
Thank you so much for this! I made a 2 tier Ferrero rocher cake yesterday and attempted a drip but it went terribly, my chocolate drips melted the buttercream, and were way to thick so they didn’t drip they were also pretty lumpy and now I see that I overheated it, I’m trying this today on the cake and hopefully it goes a lot better. Thanks for these tips!
Always remember to check the temperature of your chocolate drip before applying it to the cake. I will be uplaoding a video next week regarding this xx
Hi Jemma I’m 10 and I’ve been watching your videos for 3 years now and baked most off them I’ve always loved baking and I’ve alway made cakes for fundraisers my Aunty owns a cake shop in Hertford shire and I asked her what the next level? And she said drip cakes so happy that you have a recipe ! Thsnks
Not really most people read their chocolate a bedtime story before using it in ganache. That's how it got it's name, "ganache" is french for "good night"
Yesterday I decided I wanted white chocolate ganache instead of whipped cream to garnish my birthday cake, today I stumble onto your extremely helpful video. So happy right now.
Thanks for the video! I've recently gotten into baking and I'm planning on doing a drip cake for my family's Easter get-together. This was SUPER informative and helpful. Many, many thanks!!!
O my Lord everything that could go wrong did go wrong..my ganache was too thick, the top shot off my squeeze bottle mid drip spilling ganache all down the sides..hot humid day in sunny Aus so buttercream softened really quickly.. crappy turntable got stuck, crooked and wobbly (note to self don't scrimp on key baking equipment) but I have learnt lot of repair tricks from you guys so persevered and got a "good enough" first effort to give to my newly wed neighbours as a wedding celebration cake..looked very home baked, but I learnt a lot..thanks Jemma
I am so glad you made a video about this because my daughters birthday is coming up soon so I need to make a cake at home because my daughter's dad is in Pakistan but other why's my daughters dad would take the whole family to think and decide the theme for who evers birthday. Thankyou for this recipe😉👍☺
First ever attempt at your Madeira recipe and tower cake and drippy cake! Not perfect but it’s my first attempt and I’m no cake maker! My sons happy x thank u for the help x
This is what I'm waiting for since a long time 😭😭😭😭 thanks master! I hv a difficulty which is the condensation all over cake 😭 sometimes the dripping doesn't drip very well
For anyone who needs the measurements in cups if you buy 8oz a chocolate use 1 cup of heavy cream. As 8oz equals to 1 cups. Hope this helps! Great video this was really helpful and worked well when I tried it! :)
just used this ganache recipe. was a good starting point but had to add loads more cream to make it runny. Tip for anyone with leftover ganache put it in a mug and add milk microwave until hot add a bit of sugar if u like and you have some yummy homemade hot chocolate. so good. Try it sometime
Great tutorial as always... just wondering, does it matter what the cake is covered in to begin with? Is it iced with buttercream or ganache before drip? Thanks x
I did a white chocolate drip last week with RED gel paste and it completely seized up and I had to throw it out...I never thought of using cocoa butter though!!! Thank you for the tips!!! Great channel!!
Thank's for making this video, Jemma! It's really helpful. It has explained why I failed using white chocolate for dripping in the first place, 😁✌ bcos I need cocoa butter eventually!
This couldn't have come at a better time. I wanted to make a drip cake for my daughter's 4th birthday on Sunday. What frosting are you using on your drip cakes?
When you want to go and take a 'Fika' (as we call it here in Sweden) at Crumbs & Doilies, but you can't because you live in Sweden. But I hope that I can visit Crumbs & Doilies one day in my life!
OMG I am super excited to find your channel again! A few years back I happened upon your video of you making chocolate cupcakes. I wrote down the recipe but never subscribed 🤦♀️🤦♀️ not this time! Hit that Subscribe button first thing! 😃👍
You are brilliant and so good at clearly explaining techniques. Thank you so much. I need to do rose gold drip but have no idea how to make that work. Would appreciate your advice please. Jo from New Zealand
Lovely drips, milady! Just curious if after the top ganache has settled in the fridge, does it smooth out completely, making it look glassy or is there another technique that you would use for that? Every ganache covered cake I’ve seen has that perfectly shiny smooth look to it. Love the apron, too, beeteedubs 😉
Hello, I love your videos and your way of teaching, I have improved a lot in the creation of my cakes. I have a question in your chocolate drip video do you use cocoabutter can you use edible coconut oil?
Hi Jemma, I love they way you help to make the techniques easy to follow . I have friend's daughter that is unable to have sugar (it is quite life threatening and for her 18th birthday her Mum asked if I could make her some macarons, but I have had a quick look for recipes, not really with much luck. Just wondering if you may have come across any? I would really appreciate it, I would just like to bring a little sunshine to her for her birthday, she has had a couple of tough years. Sharon
First time I've done a drip thank you it turned out ok not fantastic by all means but I'm happy with it I had to do a mix though of chocolate I only had milk 35% and dark 70% so did half and half worked ok Thank you
Love this, did it for a work cake challenge last year. The cake looked amazing! I'm doing another this year but I was wondering, can I add glitter to the ganache? 🤔
YOU ARE A LIFESAVER!! because of your videos, I am now busy starting a cake business here in South Africa. I am an Accountant, not a chef, but I learn so much and people love it! THANKS so much for these videos!!
That is great! How is the cake business going? I wanted to do it!!
I also do that because of the vedios found at youtube
Wow
Yay! You go.
You had me at " don't ask me for cups"
Finally someone on UA-cam that understands.
Jemma I feel like I've almost mastered buttercream and I've made great cupcakes too! because of watching your frosting techniques and using the grams for the good butter and sugar and milk it's just been amazing and I've been baking for years and I love it but thank you so much!
Thanks for showing the super white powder and the cocoa butter. You’ve mentioned them in other vids and I wondered what they looked like.
hey Jemma, could you do a video about the different kinds of sugar, what to use them for and what they do in a cake or cookie. I'm sometimes a bit confused about the different kinds like dark brown, light brown, demerara, white sugar, etc.
greetings and lots of love :) 💕
Maybe that’s a good idea for a Tuesday Tip. I will consult the gang 😌

I absolutely love your channel! I've learned so much from watching. Got to go find someone to bake and decorate a cake for, lol!
This is the best tutorial I've seen on doing drip cake
Jemma isn't here for people who need volumetric measurements and I LOVE IT.
PatisserieBoy HI5 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
She said “it’s an equal 50-50 recipe” so I guess it has the same amount. Like 50g chocolate and 50grams cream ☺️
You her spokesperson? lol
Kara im afraid the point of the original comment completely passed you by....... 😄
Patisserie Boy. I will never understand why the cups measurements are so popular in some countries. It's so much more accurate to work in weight rather than volume. Love your comment!
