Dr. Ulrich Bez looks so happy to be in the company of Jay Leno, I can only imagine how he felt when Jay called him a hero.
What a fabulous ride. And such a package of performance and style.
Totally thrilling, just got to hand it to you, Jay. That’s the perfect description. And thanks for the genuine enthusiasm shown for Betz and the gracious plug for the book. Gift for a gearhead’s coffee table, for sure.
But personally, as killer as this car is, my crotch longs to be ensconced in that Lotus restoration, enjoying a similar open-air feeling. That frame-off restoration, and engine rebuild by a former Lotus team member just was the coolest, cleanest, strippedl-to-the-basics, then burnished to a glow almost palpable, turns MY crank. That simpler design, not to mention the beautiful labor of love on the bring-back, no top, normally aspirated, sequential Tremec box, just lots of fun, competitive, yet streetable without much fuss. What a combo!
Of all the cars I’ve seen featured, and all are interesting in their way, some wildly desirable (and finicky) the little Lotus would be my dreamy, creamy choice.

I like the way that Dr Ulrich Bez shoes are the same shade of yellow as the yellow stripe along the side of the Aston Martin 100 concept car.
This is one of the best episodes ever! Julian Jenkins, Dr. Ulrich Bez and Jay Leno - three of the classiest, most passionate car guys on earth and Jay is right at home in any setting! It's truly amazing what Dr. Bez has done for A.M.!
When I was 15 or 16 The DB5 from Goldfinger the 007 movie, was on display at a local shopping center. That was a very exciting thing to see! Anyway, Great presentation Jay! I think a CC100 would make a great addition to your garage!
This car is simply beautiful, and the color is amazing on it. I'd take it over a Ferrari or Porsche, or Lamborghini any day.

I was lucky to see the CC100 in person during Car Week! It was on display in the middle of Carmel, California.

NOT a 1993 Buick. It's a 1977 Buick, which was once a daily driver. The current daily driver is a 2011 Chevy Impala. The Buick is unrestored, and is mostly used for shows and cruise nights. It has won awards including three times at national events. I would prefer to show up in a 1970 GSX Stage 1, but those rare Buicks are worth at least as much as my house. Not many of us car guys can collect like Jay you know, but at least we get to see the cars, thanks to collectors like him. Thanks Jay, and the rest of you guys who keep these cars alive.

I've had two BMW Z1s, 5 993s and was lucky enough to meet and spend a bit of time with Bez. He's a very nice guy. I spent most of my time discussing the manual gearbox with him. He didn't really see the need for keeping it, and I did my best to impress upon him that he was 100% wrong.

Naming their special projects division "Q" was obviously a James Bond reference... Glad Jay pointed that out, haha.
Jay, It would be nice to see your reaction behind the wheel of a One-77. Hopefully you can be lucky enough to do so and film it. Looking forward to the possibility.
I don't know, I mean their website shows the V12 Vantage at Kerb Weight: 1680 kg (3704 lb) which is heavier than most 4 door sedans. To compare, the car this is based on, according to Aston Martin's site is Weight: 1,765 lb (801 kg), so even at 1000 lbs lighter than a Vantage, the CC100 would weigh ~3000 lbs with a bare carbon fiber interior...That's over 1000 lbs more than a really, really old car with old materials. I'm sure it'll be fast, but it's relatively heavy for what it is...

I have seen most of the features on Jay's cars but I don't remember seeing one on the black car (next to the DS) in the background. It seems like an interesting car, can you please do a feature on that??
Fellow in my subdivision just had an A-M Vanquish of a 2003 vintage. The deliverer had to offload a Lamborghini first and I got to watch all this.
