- We have been winding down our impressions of a design study prototype of the 911 Speedster, which was structurally changed from a 911 Cabriolet to a Speedster in 1987.
This design study prototype has a history of being exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show after being responsible for the development of the 911 Speedster, and unlike the production model, the transmission is Porsche Synchro and the weight is 100kg It is lightweight even though it is close. So it feels great to drive a narrow Porsche.
I believe that there is nothing better than a lightweight sports car, but since 1989, all manufacturers have been increasing the weight of their cars.
Taking this into account, I personally interpret it as a natural progression that the value of classic 911s is increasing year by year.
If you compare a heavy but high-grip shoe with a lightweight shoe that has a moderate grip, the lightweight shoe with its nimbleness will give you more control and you will not get tired after a long run.
When you do sports, you always choose the lightweight shoes.
The engine is a 3.2L air-cooled flat-six that delivers the same 231ps at 5900rpm as the 911 Carrera, and the catalog data says 0-100 acceleration in 5.1 seconds and top speed of 260km/h.
Please enjoy the video and see how it drives.
