  • I was curious about the inner workings of this Ringbom Stirling engines displacer and how exactly it is put together.
This is a very interesting variety of heat engine that has the displacer cylinder and power cylinder mechanically disconnected.
I believe it may be possible to convert a conventional internal combustion engine to Ringbom type Stirling operation, which will be the subject of some future videos.

Your videos are always interesting. Your youtube channel explains / shows things that should explain public services to citizens. Thanks for sharing

Thanks, I don't make videos, just for the sake of making videos. Just if it's something I find interesting myself that seems important enough to share. I was curious how this engine was put together and figured if I'm potentially destroying an engine just to find out, probably others would be curious as well.
I'm also planning on constructing a larger power producing Ringbom type Stirling and wanted to know as much about them as I can. This one is particularly unusual and ingenious.

That was very interesting, thank you you show it inside! Is there any dependant between the bor, the diameter of the the pistons and the weight or diameter of the flywheel?

Possibly but I don't really know anything specific I heard of Ringbom engines years ago, but they are kind of unusual and this is the first mass produced model I've seen on the market. I've only recently taken a deeper interest in them, mainly because I believe the Ringbom principle of operation could potentially be used to convert almost any internal combustion engine or compressor into an external, universal fuel Stirling type engine. I'm kind of anxious to try it.
Take an old lawnmower or whatever engine, take out the spark plug and add on a Ringbom type external displacer, since there is no need for any mechanical linkage between the two, anything that has a piston and cylinder could probably work, with minimal modification.
