Great work once again
Thanks: awesome HCS thanks for watching (again) :)
did you colourise these yourself? great job, if so. all your videos are fantastic
Yes Thanks! I do them and it's not easy to do :) If one wants to make them decent looking, too much color makes them look like spin art from a country fair :) I appreciate it Fields--very kind!
@@johnnygraham4004 keep up the great work! all the images look very professional
Piper at the gates of Dawn ForeverRIPSyd!😊
Came thinking it was part 2 but it's part 1 again can you not label your vids please
The art class one was new for me today. Great! Thank you.
Thanks Crispr! :) I had to clean that one up a lot, it was very dark: I appreciate it!
For some odd reason that last picture always reminds me of Prince.
hmm Yes there is a side-glance kind of similarity and half-beard, sketchy moustache-thing lol, good call :)
@@johnnygraham4004 And both were musical geniuses, and colour made up a big part of Prince's musical pallette. AND apparantly they were both batshit crazy, in a good way, I don't think they hurt anybody. Captain Beefheart was also a songwriter and painter of the DeKooning style, and once again, pretty batshit crazy.
Brilliant thank you so much for this there's not enough of his art shown.
It's hard to believe that stunningly good looking slim young man was the same pudgy balding gent that wandered around alone in Cambridge with his hanging down looking grumpy. What happened to Syd was really quite sad.
Like His artwork - now I Know why you really Like him John . I find it interesting especially Males who do art and Music . I Know My thing is writing and art .
Yes I found out that the painted up until the year he died in 2006 but he burned most of it LOL I used to do the same thing. He did take photos of them though (they say) before he torched them! Thanks Karen!
@@johnnygraham4004 Why would he Burn His paintings ? That is strange.
@@dragonfly339 One reason could be that people would show up at his house and take things, anything that belonged to him, out of his garden and even his trash :O
I am a fan of Eva Cassidy for that reason, Syd's female counterpart. She made fascinating professional artwork from an early age, and she is world famous for her song covers that are better than the original. Her voice was pure and beautiful, also true for Syd's voice. Would have been great if Syd had met Eva, they had so much in common.
@@johnnygraham4004 Arnold Layne as Syd Barrett wannabe, poor Syd
If mr Barrett wasn't a musician, then who is
Syd :)
Syd wasn’t a musician. He was an artist.
@@alexmalch If that is true, then nobody would know Syd. A musician, composer of superb pop songs, and a great singer. His voice was much better than the voices of the other floyd members. Syd left us very good guitar solos as well (but not as stunning as David Gilmour's solos). His paintings did not make him famous, unfortunately.
Yes I agree, I think he was a very competent artist but chances are he would not have made a mark and as time went on, he did less work and didn't finish many. He also took photos of his (much) later work and burned a large number of them.
@@koenraad4618 His songs were more artistic than musical in my opinion, if that even makes sense. His style of playing guitar wasn’t great on the level of Clapton or Hendrix, but his guitar playing was really innovative and artistic. Even in music he wasn’t a musician but an artist. I hope it makes sense
For a old guy this is really great! Thanks, Roy
