@Brazilian Roy Jones It's more than just strength and explosiveness, he uses alot of technique and skill when he's taking his opponent down too. He's 45 years old and has been wrestling most his life, he's a master at it.
It’s a shame Romero had that injury that required his neck fusion. It severely limited his ability to wrestle constantly and he could only become an opportunist with takedowns. Had he not been injured he would’ve been almost unstoppable and a UFC champ for sure, no one in mma has higher wrestling pedigree and at times it shows, Weidman found out there’s levels to wrestling that day he fought Romero.
@@markmeloni2388 Obviously he's the superior wrestler, if he can't keep top control for even 5 seconds, because aesthetic takedowns that go nowhere are what wrestling is all about right? Also, flying knee = proof of better wrestling? I guess Jorge Masvidal is a better wrestler than Ben Askren then... welcome to mma class. Being a better fighter, doesn't mean he's a better wrestler. If you can't put that together, then you probably think listening to the JRE and watching tik-toks of UFC's engineered golden geese make you an expert.
i think he just loves that felling of a knockout blow. Once you land that perfect shot on someone it feels so damn good that you just want to keep chasing that
@@josemarialaguinge yeah big time. you can also notice it during interviews where he cant fully turn his head 180 degrees from left to right, he always had to turn his torso around to face people, he can turn his face only slightly.
Can I see every takedown in Usman or Jon Jones career? There are lots of fun ones. Also this video is awesome, I could watch takedowns all day, and take downs being defended.
Yoel Romero calls himself The Soldier of God and I respect that, but Romero is something else, something pretty nasty from the Barrios and streets of Cuba, Romero is La Candela !!!
NEW VID: Khamzat Chimaev - ALL Takedowns in MMA Career So Far: ua-cam.com/video/Huuu3jvhbh0/v-deo.html
His takedowns are a work of art.
hes a phenom, we won't see another like him for a long, long time.

@@samuelcharwick2103 If he were 5 years younger and in the UFC I’d love to see him fight Khamzat.
He was never successful in controlling most of his opponents on the ground. Those take downs were short-lived.
@@ArturoJimenez-tn6wx Apart from when he mauled Machida after taking him down.
That outside trip straight to the backtake on Weidman was absolutely marvellous
0:23 this is an unbelievable move. This guy is a mutant
@Hang the AristocratsYes, I am sure you would beat up Yoel Romero in a street fight dude
Tony Ferguson is impressed.

Romero, DC, Cejudo, Khabib are the best wrestlers in ufc
Lol. He took Weidman down only 3 times and Weidman popped right back up on 2 of them. I smell an Anderson Silva fan.
@@williamsmith1803 the way he took him down... also Weidmann was koed. If you dont see there were on a different Level, bad for you.

@@williamsmith1803 He won Silver at the Olympics of course he is the better wrestler. He barley uses Wrestling because of some Neck injuries...
If he had better top control, he would be even more of a monster.
That the defining difference between folkstyle and freestyle. That mat wrestling, scrambling, and ground control.
Thanks for making this.
Just found your channel tonight, thank you so much for making these compilations.
In some of the takedowns you can tell the other guy is bigger...but he just ragdolls like nothing...wow real power🙏💯👍
0:23 Yoel ‘El Cucuy’ Romero
That trip against Weidman was the best I have ever seen. HOLY!!!!
Some great use of Judo foot sweeps from Romero also.
As a Judo guy Yoel is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch, just beautiful technique coupled with explosiveness
Mr Romero doesn't stop. You can keep trying to take him out and he just advances. 😨
awesome video his wrestling is NEXT level and so smooth to watch
So brutal, so clean, so satisfying.
Good takedowns, terrible ground control
You try controlling someone on the ground with a fused neck
I think this is why he only uses his wrestling when it's necessary, and mostly uses striking.
@@lilSenDogHe is also a freestyle wrestler, emphasizes explosive takedowns. Freestyle doesn’t translate that well to MMA
I wish he was more confident in his wrestling at times

@@mikec5400 no, his neck was fused because of a surgery, which is why he cant scramble because he cant turn his head around.

He came to mma at the age of 35 .. can you imagine what he would had done if he came at 25 .
He would had fought guys like Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin, Dan Henderson

Imagine if he could have turned those takedowns into serious ground and pound or submission threat, would have been champ easy

The romero ankle pick is fucking legendary

How good is Adam Saitiev?

The fact costa beat him and defended his take down
The hombre fought adam saitiev so his wrestling is going to be great
Is he the best wrestler to ever performed in UFC ???
Romero is of God class caliber of athlete.
Why the blasphemy? Search for Jesus while you can 🙏🙌
I see where khabib gets his takedown from he was watching Yoel
