@MickeyHanson. Awesome video Awesome Chanel. I have a few thunder slots. I will have to try out the urethane tires. I bought mine from eBay and they didn’t come with urethane. I love the thunder slots. Hard to control but once you figure it out it’s perfect.

Thanks! Yes, I love the Thunderslot cars. Every one of them has been great so far. I picked up that Sunoco Donohue car and it's fantastic. What a looker! I've had that black Elva on my short list as well.
I got my 1st Thunderslot recently. Beautiful looking & well designed car. The only real issue I've had on my Carrera track is that when I sanded the tread off the rears so I could run at my local wood track the motor is now scraping the rails. Have you or anyone else had this issue? Cheers for the video.
Hi. I haven’t had that experience with any Thunderslot cars, but I did have it with a Slot.it car I had. But I could see where raised braids might be an issue. Does it do it also on the Carrera track?
@MikeyHanson awesome layout is your track painted? Is your track a copy of an existing racecourse? I want to build (lack space) an homage to the Sazuka racecourse in Japan, and maybe Silverstone in G.B. Possibly all though it’s very complex the circut of the Americas here in Texas. 30 years ago a road race for (I believe IMSA or maybe IROC) was run in Dallas. Fantastic road course, I wouldn’t mind building. I’m going for Sazuka or Dallas road course winter 23/24 as my slot car project. Have you named your course? Hi, thanks! I used to have a course setup when I had a permanent table in my attic. I've moved to an apartment since then, so my priorities have shifted to tuning and racing cars on temporary circuits I can squeeze into my living room. Yes, I painted the track with exterior latex house paint and it came out great. Have fun with whichever track you decide on making! I can never decide, so I like having to constantly change.
If your Thunderslots are" wiping the floor" with your NSR cars, you're not setting up your NSR cars correctly. Just my opinion. Thanks for showing the cars.
If it was one car against the other, then maybe I would accept that as a thing, but it's not. This is so far two Thunderslot cars against FIVE NSR cars. All of the NSR cars are running roughly the same with each other, but are still well off the pace of the Thunderslot cars by 7/10ths on a 5 second lap. And this is with my standard tuning methods that work great and yield good results. I also have some well-tuned Slot.it cars that are running faster than the NSR cars currently. I expect over time that the NSR cars will increase speed, as this is pretty much then more or less out-of-box and with a basic setup so far. But I'd be hard-pressed to believe that they're going to go faster than the Thunderslots, at least not on my track and conditions. I appreciate your opinion and thanks for watching.
Hey Tanker Ten, I just wanted to write back and let you know something: I thought about what you said, went back and looked at my cars, the NSR cars in particular. Turns out I had forgotten one crucial aspect as I was going over them. That was, a few months ago, I had switched all my cars to urethane tires, including the NSR cars. Later, when I bought the Thunderslot cars, I ordered urethanes but they were the wrong fit, so I waited and kept the factory rubbers on. Well, you probably can guess what happened. I put the factory rubbers back on the NSR cars and they run much better. Right up along side the Thunderslots.

That's Carrera Evolution track painted with latex paint.
