37:31.. "It was a revenge company. I got these guys to pay me for the things they sued me for." I love Travis K. The guy is polarizing. And he's brilliant. The lesson then and especially now with Uber: there is power in being hellbent. Before the product, before everything-it's about the founder and his freaking soul.

That's the additional amount of money that the acquirer offers as a "bonus", so to speak, for the top execs and talent at the company being acquired to stay on for a few years. So in this case, the company was sold for 19 and there was 4-5 on the table if Travis & friends stayed on and hit additional milestones

Uber replaces the yellow cab, which is frequently a horrible experience where you the customer feel like you are at the mercy of companies and drivers who don’t care about your needs.
To understand how amazing Uber is, you have to start by examining the yellow cab experience:
The Problem with TAXIS & Cabs in the U.S.
If you order a cab by phone…
When you call, you are invariably placed on hold and put into some kind of queue of indeterminate length. You have no idea when you are going to be picked up by a live person.
Once you reach the booking operator, yes they will confirm that a car is on its way, but they won’t tell you when the car will arrive. The booking operator is often rude; in my experience, the operator usually hangs up brusquely before you even have a chance to ask when the car will arrive.
After you’ve booked your car, you have no way of knowing whether the cab will show up at all, and you certainly have no idea how close the cab is. If you feel that your cab is late, you’re generally in a helpless position; it’s usually a waste of time to call the cab company back to check on your cab, because they have no patience for you and frequently don’t have any idea where the car is.
If you try to hail a cab outside…
Often times, cabs aren’t available when you want them and you have no idea how long you have to wait before a cab becomes available.
Especially in cities, you have to work hard to get a cab, walking from intersection to intersection, sometimes competing with other people to hail a cab. It’s exhausting, anxiety-provoking (because you’re worried you won’t get to where you need to go on-time), and humiliating.
Cab drivers have complete control over whether or not they pick you up. Do you look weird or dangerous to the driver? Are you not going where they want to go? They can just decide, screw you, I don’t want to pick you up.
Once you are in a taxi or cab…
The car is sometimes dirty - both the interior and the trunk. My experience is that this is true about 1/3 of the time.
Drivers are often rude and/or don’t know how to get around your city.
During the ride, drivers often spend much of the ride talking on their cell phones. This is both annoying and dangerous.
If the driver is bad (rude, unethical, drives poorly), you basically have no recourse - no way to provide feedback to a central service or complain. The minute the driver leaves, they know that they will never see you again.
The paying experience at the end of your ride is cumbersome and often mildly stressful. You have to fumble for your wallet while pulled over, sometimes on a crowded street, sometimes with kids that you need to deal with.
Uber solves every one of these problems.
Ordering an Uber car is awesome (actually it’s fun) and super-easy.
You do it on your phone. You pinpoint where your location is, and before you order the car, Uber tells you how many minutes away an available car is.
Once you order, you have 90+% confidence that the car will be there when it says it will be there.
In other words, with Uber, there is zero uncertainty about cab availability or arrival time.
Waiting for the Uber car to get there…
Waiting for your Uber car to arrive is really fun and satisfying - like having a dedicated car service, but a lot better.
For one thing, while you are waiting, you can look at the Uber app on your phone and see exactly where your car is located and how their progress is going to get to your location.
If you want to talk to the driver, you can click the phone icon and you’ll immediately dial them up. The driver always answers quickly and calls you by your name. You can use the phone to give the driver more color about your location You can use the phone to coordinate if there is any confusion on the driver’s part - just like ordering a private car service, but even better because you can see the driver on a live, interactive map!
    Driving in the Uber car…
The Uber car itself is usually super-nice and immaculately clean. They are black town cars or spacious SUVs. svn now they have a low cost cheaper UberX which reenforce the existing fleet especially on rush time so you will never have to wait or wonder . i was amazed when i ordered an uberX and within 5 minutes a 2014 black Camry hybrid show up the cost of the trip was $5 ……Amazing isn't
    The back seats are super-clean.
The drivers are nice and friendly and always have an iPhone that they use to help get to your destination.
After your Uber ride is over…
Payment is seamless - you don’t fumble for your wallet or cash/credit cards. Instead, you are automatically billed, and you see your bill right after the ride ends.
The Uber driver review experience is empowering and makes you feel in control as the customer. Immediately after your ride ends, you are prompted by the Uber app to review the driver. I usually give 5 stars, but if there was any problem with the ride, I give fewer stars and explain why. This Uber reporting / review system imposes accountability on the drivers and incents them to provide good service. In the handful of situations where I’ve given bad reviews to drivers, an Uber customer service rep has always followed up by email, so I know that my review matters. This whole system makes me think that someone is watching out for me and that drivers are motivated to do a good job and not screw me.
All people i knew who use Uber love the app too uber is awesome very cheap rate and WAY better than cabs . Drivers are always close, super friendly, and really prompt. Service is affordable, as well. Couldn't be happier with uberX, and they really fun
Has a great time using uber for the first time! Driver was very friendly and came promptly. My total was $24 but everything was waived since I had a promo code and it was my first time. I tried taking lyft on the way home and it was terrible! Overcharged by $35 because of the shady driver who claimed I asked for an hour long ride when it was only 20minutes.
    We love UBER because:
    1. UBER is way cheaper than a DUI
    2. we feel less homicidal riding in UBER cars than driving in our own car in city . traffic
    3. UBER arrives within minutes of being called
    4. UBER drivers are way less weird and creepy than taxi drivers
    5. NO cash is exchanged
Service is affordable, as well. Couldn't be happier with uberX, and they really fun . HERE IS A $25 CREDIT CODE : z5ju9h this code is valid for first time UBER users only existing user may not be able to use it
Enter this code z5ju9h In the payment section before you request your FIRST ride and. you will receive a $20 credit towards that ride .. The credit is valid on first ride so use it for a long ride to get the best value. Great community. Never take a taxi again…
Go for Uber you will never ever be desappointed :)

Consider if you were a building contractor incorporated, licensed and insured. You collected your employees witholding, matched their FICA,and paid workers compensation insurance. You had to buy building permits, conform to local codes and be inspected by building inspectors and OSHA.Would you think it fair for some jackleg, fly by night competitor working out of his truck and doing none of these things was operating in your community?

    How would YOU run a company? ------- But first ask yourself these questions ;
    ** Why does a multi-billion dollar company (60 B+)
1)not have a City by City EMERGENCY Phone Number? ( & an Emergency Text ) . 2) push back so hard against & not want to do Driver Fingerprinting?
    and as a start-up 3)have the record for the most number of Lawyers/Lobbyists/Lawsuits, Fines& . Violations ?
UBER is where it is today because of the DRIVERS EFFORTS whom they have continually Abused & Exploited. It is well known that Uber looks forward to when they start on boarding MACHINES! TIP (cause Travis won't) your driver, they're better at conversation !
