I've bought the 35 litre for mountain use. It is the lightest backpack you will find for it's size however, I think it is too minimalist for me. It is not waterproof, If you're in heavy rain everything will get wet however, it is very water restitant for ligther rains. Another thing which I am unsure of is the side pockets. When the bag is not full they are great to use, however if the pack is full you cannot stash/ retreive anything out of the pockets (imagine jeans pockets). I have since sold it and bought the Mountain Hardwear Scrambler 35. Even though that is designed more for rock climbing. I've used it in alpne conditions and prefered it much more than the alpine light, it is also way cheaper. It has more feautres like the floating lid and water bottle holders which I've preffered However, if minimal weight is what you are after this pack works pretty well.
appreciate the video giong over micro details of the pack AND going over the thought process behind each design (ex: the ice axe loop, secondary style wrap around might not have crossed my mind until you mentioned it here).
Congrats to MHW for designs to compete with the Arcteryx FL series summit packs which, up to this point, were about the best around. I despise Arcteryx for numerous reasons but I do admire their FL summit line. Yes, there were other really good packs made in the past by other manufacturers but guess what? They are no longer made thus forcing my wallet to spring for a second FL40 and 23 and a first FL30. Well, I'll take a closer look at MHW's offerings and tell Arcteryx goodbye forever.
I like the matirial, I dont like how its white and dosent have to straps off the hood. I like the metal hook thing though ive had lots of plastic junk break on me. im a fan of the metal hook. mostly i dont like the white, if i wanted to get all bush crafty.
Definitely not water proof, I had mine soak through during a hike with light rain. The hook that closes the top of the pack does not like to stay attached unless the pack is fully loaded. Those shoulder straps are ungodly uncomfortable with 40 lbs of gear. Not a good pack guys

Hi , I'm trying to find the 50 , nothing on the website.
Can you direct me to a store?
Kind regards
You bought this bag and was surprised it was minimalist?
@@yaronik03 new one just released a few days ago. Grab one before they sell out
@@alpinelife9053 Not using the Dyneema anymore. I think it was a cost thing. I have the 35 and the 50. Both def not waterproof, but a burly pack.

Well thought out packs, just wake me when the easily stained white trend is over.
Nothing screams hi visibility safety in the alpine environment like white equipment. :/
Hard to dye dynemma with color
How come those backpacks are no longer sold?

Anyone know where I could find one of these - either used or new? Dying to find one but can't find any for sale online.
they are 50% off on their website, just got one for 150$
Looks like the 35 is just the 50 without the lid?
Are they extinct now? Not able to locate anywhere. Plz help
All three of them should have same features only the differences in weight should be the size.

But how come ? I thought dyneema was supposed to be 100% waterproof. Is all that water in just due to the closure? Thanks
@@jgsk78 I'm guessing the seams aren't sealed
Dark colors, please.
