    I’m a overall Chevrolet fan, mostly for their trucks, muscle cars and Corvettes. But I do like this car, having the cool looks of the Blazer in a smaller package. Perfect for a inexpensive and fuel efficient Turo rental. Way to go, Chevrolet and great video, Roman.

    I’m actually gonna disagree with you a little Roman. I don’t think college kids are the only market for this I am really excited about this! Chevy has created, it seems, a really good car for a hell of a price and they knocked the design out of the park. Most manufacturers tend to drop the quality of their vehicles the smaller they get. Sure this has some hard plastics but this, for the price seems to be the same ish level of quality as an Equinox just shrunk down. Gen X is starting to become empty nesters and a lot of people these days don’t need a big vehicle and can’t afford something that starts at 34-40k given how inflation has spiked while wages have not. This I think is a great option for that group as well and they can pick this up for a reasonable price without feeling like they sacrificed much in terms of comfort.

    The new trend with headlights being positioned lower then the running lights really bothers me due to safety on the highway.. You can put the best lights in a vehicle and if they are not in the right position they become compromised. Unless the highway is perfectly flat you will get dark spots in the lower areas of the road. You won't get the advantage of the extra height from a suv to a car when it comes to night time visibility.

    I hope I don't regret buying a new Blazer when these come out. I love the looks and the price, just not real sure I could handle something that small. But the payment would only be about half of what I pay now, so it may be worth the trade off. I bought the Blazer and then this was announced the next week. I absolutely love my Blazer, but it was definitely more than I was hoping to spend.
    I would love to see GM make a plug in hybrid version of this. That would suit my driving style perfectly. I only drive about 4 miles to and from work each day and about 8 miles each way to pick up my daughter about every other day or so. I would barely ever have to use gas, but at the same time wouldn't have to have range anxiety. I would definitely be scared to see a repair bill on something that complex though. If these things end up being reliable then I think GM knocked it out of the park, but if they go the way of the old Saturns or Cavaliers where you are lucky to make it past 75k miles then it isn't nearly as good of a deal as it looks like.

    • @99-Zulu
      @99-Zulu Рік тому

      If you got the AWD 2.0t Blazer, MPG would be fairly similar in real world driving. This Trax would probably get slightly better MPG on the highway but city would be the same in real world driving. That's when this is FWD only, while the Blazer is AWD. Granted with all of Chevy's AWD CUV's, you have the choice to disengage the AWD and make it FWD. So with the Blazer you'll have better traction if the situation calls for it. Plus Chevy's performance is relatively good for not having a performance option. They have a sporty appearance package but no direct improvement to its performance. With the exception of Ford the Blazer is one of the quickest mainstream CUV's on the market. Whereas this Trax is not going to touch the Blazer's performance.

    • @raziqafg
      @raziqafg Рік тому

      It's cheap for a reason. Knowing GM quality control and track record. I would stay away from it. As I say you either pay up front for the quality or pay later in repair bills and down time.

    • @Clay_333
      @Clay_333 Рік тому

      @@raziqafg I really don't doubt that you are wrong, but one thing that makes me wonder is that there have been no major quality complaints about the Trailblazer. The FWD Trailblazers use the same motor and I am pretty sure come out of the same plant. They haven't been out very long so we don't know how they will fair over the long run, but so far so good.
      I can't say I would be anymore surprised if they went over 200k miles without a major breakdown or if they were basically scrap metal before 80k. I personally don't put many miles at all on my vehicles, so that helps ease my mind about long term reliability. I absolutely love my Blazer, but I paid over 1.5x for a base model compared to a top trim Trax. That is the only reason I may regret it. I no doubt like everything about the Blazer more (especially the size) except the price.

      I had purchased a 2015 sonic RS used which I absolutely loved in 2017 with 15k miles but if the power train is anything like the Sonic in this new Trax Man it’s going to suck and be in the shop a lot. I had nothing but problems with the sonic. Water pump ,valve cover, rear main oil seal, head unit , ac compressor and the heated seats were all taking a shit right after I bought it. I traded it in after all the repairs were done at 25,000 miles for a 2020 Nissan Altima which actually got better gas mileage and better performance than the Sonic ever did

      What are you talking about? Maybe before talking you should actually try pricing one out on their website, it'll save you from looking foolish. You can get the highest trim in AWD with modest options that give you the drivers assist & still stay under 27k before destination. However if you want just what you need to get from A to B you can stay under 23k before destination. It's up to you what you chose and if you chose a bunch of stuff you don't really need like an appearance package then that's on you.
