Great job, Matt. You’re videos have great pace and polish. I enjoy them immensely. I struggle with tubes. I kind of have this thought nagging me. If it comes in as analytical, why buy tubes? Is the midrange so superior to the sound of an excellent SS amp? My stuff is vintage McIntosh but I’ve also heard more modern AB amps that are fantastic. I heard a Carver M400A that was paired with Klipsch Cornwalls and it was probably the best pairing I’ve ever heard.
I get it, its difficult to put a concreate answer on that one, it takes the right person to appreciate the tube life, but some live by it and want nothing else. I would really like to hear a pair of Cornwalls, such an interesting speaker.
@@MattCoykendall1 They are really something. I say they are the best speakers I have ever heard. I’m 70 and was very familiar with LaScalas in the 70s. These are better to my ear. I have vintage ADS and Sourcepoint 8. I love the ADS. Had them since ‘79. If I could fit the Cornwalls I’d find a way.
I enjoyed your review as usual. I have four antique radios that have class A amps but they are only AM or Shortwave so I don't know if they sound great or not. My big 1936 Silvertone can add a bit of warmth to my man cave in my Western Wisconsin home and it's only 3 watts.
At 10:51 you mentioned, “with power coming in at 30 & 50 RMS” ? I’m confused, the specifications on the site promote the measurement values at 75 & 100 RMS.
@@MattCoykendall1 Very nice! I’m looking forward to your review. My guess is that there won’t be a huge improvement in sound dynamics unless your are really using hard to drive speakers. And maybe a small class AB Amp like Emotiva A2-mini or Cambridge AXA-35 would be a better choice; although about 50% more expensive than 2x A07 Max units
Don't see myself being in the market for a tube amp but this one has some interesting features, too bad about the LEDs though as they would be total deal killer.
Yeah, it seems well received so I don't doubt it sounds great. I think it gets tougher when you aim at this end of the market. Little things like really bright LEDs (nobody likes them) and aesthetics in general become big deals. And frankly this amp looks just like a $250 Dayton Audio or Monoprice 'Tube' amp.
@@MattCoykendall1 Maybe.... KT88s make real good space heaters. I know I'm biased and possibly a bit over the line here but we really should consider letting tubes go to a well deserved retirement. They did their job when they were the "tech of the day"... but that day is over. Modern systems are far more efficient, accurate and are inexpensive to make and maintain. Tube amps impress me as a snob's status symbol and not much else.
Enjoyable review Mr Matt, strong and getting stronger.
Thanks Tony!
I really like your reviewing style. Thanks for the coverage. Subscribed!
Thanks Dave, appreciate that.
Nice review.
Nice review! Very informative. I have been a subscriber for a while now. Thanks
Thanks for the sub!

Silvertone a guitar amp?
@@MattCoykendall1 In this case radios, I own 3 Silvertone radios and a 1940 RCA Victor. Silvertone also made guitar amps.

The 75 and 100 is max power, the 30/50 is per channel RMS
@@MattCoykendall1 TY!
If you can, please review a pair of Aiyima A07 Pro working as Moniblocks (in bridged mode)
I have a pair sitting here now.

Its a really good integrated amp, he did a fine job on it. The lights were just my critique, would be a good move to add a dimming feature.

Very!
Looks like a Denon 103 MC Cartridge on your Thorens
Yep 103R
@@MattCoykendall1 I had one in 1991 when living in Japan
If i gave you £2000 to buy an amplifier, what would you buy and why ?
Oh look ... an amplifier that can cook your pancakes in the morning!
It has been snowing in ND so it can be welcomed occasionally. Maybe the cage was actually the cook top?
