    Hello, to loosen the hoses in this case I use a heat gun and put towels to protect other "stuff" from the heat.... it only takes about 10 seconds of heat and those hoses will come off easy... anyhow I am only 12 minuets into the video and just wanted to give some free advice .. now back to your show.

    Not going to lie, I’m fascinated learning about all this ship mechanical stuff but jeez, the way all this stuff is buried and tucked away and just stashed higgly piggly makes me pucker something fierce! You’re a brave soul Franny!

    Good stuff ladies! I definitely think that a hookup to easily allow a flush would be a great improvement. And allowing to flush the pump would be great, also.

      Yes, we have a list of improvements that we want to do.

      I just read that his needs to be done annually. An easy to access cleaning setup would pay for itself quite quickly, and I mean that in terms of effort/hassle.

    nice video, but when you exclude/bypass the raw water hose coming out of the AC pump that goes all the way into the AC, aren't you all the barnacles that could develop in that hose and block the AC cooling water? - thanks

    Wow incredible video! If you didn’t do all this work yourself, does the boat come with an annual maintenance schedule where you’d schedule these services? Or are you being super proactive and tackling things other boat owners would not think to do before experiencing a problem?
    Also, sounds like you have a mod to do with adding a t-fitting to the pump so you don’t have to do all the external pump setups! That would make for a nice quick video 😃

      Hi Richard, I hope all is well :) No, not that I know of... You can contact all this out but it would be $$$. I don't think it had even been done and I think it needs it again. I'll get to that at some point; maybe in Annapolis this summer. Yes! I'll add something to make this a bit easier... Thanks!

    Franny a little heat from a heat gun may help with getting the hose off. Good luck.

    Next time you might want to consider heating and softening up the ends of vinyl hoses a little with a hair dryer or heat gun so the hoses can be easily removed from the plastic hose barbs,

    Hose fittings are not usually metric but are universal pipe threads, in my experience.

      Most production boats have this, from what I understand, but I haven't seen behind the panels of many.

      It's French boat, not a German one. Why could go wrong?

    • @HeidiandFranny
      @HeidiandFranny  8 місяців тому

      @mikedx2706 we are big fans of German engineering, as you know with the cars we did and currently own, but the largest manufacturers of yachts are in South Africa, France, Vietnam, and now China. So, we did not have a lot of options. It's frustrating, too, because FP will only use French accessories or other European ones when there may be better stuff out there. For now, we are ok, but we will be replacing some accessories with German ones when we can.
