Absolutely!! Wow, I bet it changed a lot in that time too! In fact, that's one of the reasons we love to do these videos, to capture the way things look before they inevitably change. It'll be nice to look back someday and see how things used to be set up. Thanks so much for stopping in!!
Awesome--thank you--we love hearing that! We are so hyped to go again this year. If you see us wandering around, come say hello!! Hope you all have an amazing visit!
It's a fun entrance for sure--usually when we arrive we don't get a choice and they have people directing which lot and then which spot to park in. More often than not we make a day trip, meaning we've been on the road for 3+ hours, but if anybody can get there closer to opening, we support the Queen's Gate entrance--it's gorgeous!
I'm 43,,, born and raised here in K .C. and spent many a days here. Hell, me n my friends would sneak in here during off season since we're super nerdy. ( Me more so than them. I'm a season pass holder. Love taking friends here for they're first time as well. I know this place better than most I know. I do not wish to be in any of your videos but would love to share the experience with people who are in love with this place and to share the love
Especially now that I have a few g babies to share. Please contact me if you'd like to show everyone how great our renfest is. Otherwise I know you guys love coming here n hope to see you guys there. Thanks for showing our amazing renfest
This is the kind of comment we love hearing! Lifelong fan AND someone who enjoys introducing the ren-fest to new people and making them into new fans too! We'll definitely have to get some tips, stories, or even history of the park from you. Feel free to drop us a line at doyounerd2010@gmail.com and we'll see if there's something we can put together!
@@senfulsarah6663 YES! We hope the little ones enjoy it too--it's so much fun seeing how the joy and magic in kids' eyes when they visit! And thank YOU for the kind words--the honor is all ours. We love to visit and hope to continue showing what a fun time the faires can be!
@@DoYouNerd I'm on my way to the KC Renfest VIP sneak preview party for season pass holders. I'm so stoked. Taking my sis and a dearest friend with us who loves this kind of thing but has never been to anything like this. I'm so excited.
@@DoYouNerd p s. There are 2 entrances and the one you guys went in is generally more busy mostly because that's the more out of area, easy for tourist's/visitors to find kinda entrance. Not that the other one is a secret
Oh no doubt--for fans of the ren-faire scene, this absolutely delivers!! The pricing can make for a bit of sticker shock, but a lot of the handmade items help to level that out. We certainly budget before a trip, but it's also just nice to enjoy them for a walk when the weather's just right!
I'm surprised I have not been to a fair yet but it is on my to do list. Hopefully after my move I can look for one. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Just be careful--it only takes that one visit to become hooked on them!! Thank YOU for watching and should you visit a faire, we'd absolutely love to see what we're missing out on!
17:39 My family and I were at the KC Ren Fest on that day, and I bought that staff! That exact one! I take it to every fest, and it sits in my DnD room the rest of the year. I wish I could share pictures!
Oh wow--truly, you have excellent taste because that staff was out-of-this-world gorgeous!!! Knowing someone like you would be utilizing it so well actually makes us VERY happy we didn't pop on it. We love hearing that it's part of your DnD room AND to goes to every festival--that's incredible!! If you're on Twitter/X or Instagram, feel free to share those pics there--we'd love to see them!
Great video! I always go to the "Kings Gate" entrance...less crowded than the "Queens Gate". I went in September this year. It wasn't super crowded that day but about the average. I am glad you got to enjoy something that KC has to offer!
Sometimes they don't give us the choice of gate, but the King's Gate is totally the way to go. With the setup and fountain it just feels right, you know? Sounds like you went at the right time--we know next time to NOT wait for the last weekend. lol Really hoping to bump into you there--wear the Link mask!!
Love us some Ren Fest! Sounds and looks like you guys had a blast per usual! We always have fun when we go to the one around us. Your outfits are so wonderful! Love all the video guys! Great stuff as always you two!
Thank you so much for watching guys!!! And for the compliments too! Dressing up for a faire is a blast; it really does change the experience. And we'd love to see your faire sometime--show us what we're missing out on!
This looked like a lot of fun! gotta say Tom weilding that weapon and scowling is thumbnail material! You both looked awesome! Gotta wonder what Freddy may of been doing there!
I mean, he's got a day job you know--Freddy mostly only hunts kids at night. LOL Thank you for the compliment--it's a different experience dressing up for a faire; the staff and actors interact with you differently. Ha ha--that scowl was for the lady coming in too close. lol That area is fantastic; you rent the foam weapons and they let you fight your buddies--how cool is that!?
Keep an ear out for groups of people who go that maybe you could get to know and tag along with. Our library actually has a great friendship with a local live action role playing group who enjoy adding new members and just doing things with like-minded people. Until then, feel free to live vicariously through us--we enjoy trying to show off the faires for those who can't make it or on the fence about visiting.
Hmmm...now THIS is an idea. Maybe we could plan a trip around one and get a whole group of us together. Maybe a ren-fest would be that perfect "midway" point we spoke of--just don't fly there!

Ha ha--don't worry, Lady Laci is hardly going to leave a ren-faire without SOMETHING dragon related. LOL Good thinking actually on the coins--we have a couple of wooden tokens in there too. They were beer tokens, so you can imagine how tough it was to NOT use them just to have them. lol
