Amen sister! No one has time for drama. I have a stressful job as a hospital lab tech and once I clock out...no drama for me! Not sure I can participate but I can stand on the sidelines, cheering you on and oohing and aahing over everyone's work. Looking forward to it.
Hello my name is Mary Ann from South Jersey I am a quilter I sell on my quilt top everyday before I go to work I work at Walmart I've been there 20 years I'm a cashier in the state of New Jersey we are now reusable bags only what a way of life that is changing quilting is such a relaxing and enjoyable way of life I'm a senior and I go to the library twice a week the ladies crochet and I work on my quilt thanks for sharing have a great day
In the past I could not figure out the squares when I would look at a quilt but now after watching your tutorials of what a block is I was able to see all the blocks for the star project. I was not overwhelmed but excited in making the block.☺
Thank you so much for that feedback! I am never sure if I'm saying enough about putting things together....or if I'm going over board with saying too much. I do hope you'll jump in to try out the blocks!
I will enjoy watching and hopefully learning a new skill. I am sewing & just love secluding myself for awhile and getting away from the constant turmoil of this world. Right now I’m vacationing down in Florida spending time with my family & grandchildren. I did take a couple of projects and a few pieces I need to work on. Thanks Patty for a previous video on lights. I bought myself a Verilux floor lamp and what a difference it makes. I can go sew in a pitch dark room.
Oh that's GREAT Victoria!! The lights make a HUGE difference. I need to do a video just on my lighting, which has been on my list for a while but life keeps getting in my way. LOL Have fun in the great state of Florida!
Love your honesty and easy nature. I’m very new to quilting, as in I’ve never done it. I’ve always felt intimidated by others. I will endeavour to follow along with this project with you. Thanks 😊
Welcome to the channel Melissa! I do try to be as approachable as possible and share my love of crafts with everyone. A couple of the blocks are a little difficult.....but you could do two rows of an easier block....like the pinwheels. The main thing is do what you can and not get so over whelmed you become frustrated.
Beautiful pattern. My hubby is getting better since knee replacement so I'm stepping back into quilting, etc. So much has been going on here. I was overwhelmed for awhile, so I stepped away. So good to see your video!!
I'm so glad to hear he's better! That's such a big surgery to get through. You'll enjoy this project as something to get you reinvigorated. I'm going to do live videos as part of it to have check ins, so I hope you can participate in those too.
Patty~ I look forward to learning more from you. I have too many projects going to join the quilt along but I will certainly enjoy your tutorials, as always!
Hello Patty, it is very nice to meet you! Just found you on UA-cam and what a wonderful meet and greet. I have never followed along on someone else’s sew long, but would love to join you. I will be following behind about a week because I’m about to go see my son and grandchildren in Minnesota but will get started as soon as I get back home. I have some Civil War fabrics and three colors that may be perfect for your beautiful quilt layout. Thank you. Now I am off to join your Facebook family
This would love fantastic in Civil War fabrics!! The first block just went up and I'll be checking in with every one this week on where you all are and what questions everyone might have.
Good Evening Patty. I would love to do this quilt along with you. I just got to shop for my fabrics. I love your pick of colors, thank you for sharing. You’re a wonderful teacher and I saying thank you so much. The quilt is beautiful. Have a wonderful evening. Happy sewing and quilting.❤️🧵🪡✂️😃
Hi Patty.. looking forward to this project. What a great idea... I think shutting the noise around us. We have all had a few hectic.. scary... and likely more to come. I've left my email and I want ti participate. Love all your videos... also enjoy container gardening as well take care and hugs.
Thank you Ginette! Yeah, I'm having some trouble focusing on work with everything going on and trying to get this project together has been a bit of a challenging thing for me. But I'm doing my best. I need to get back to work, but I also want to get my emergency preparations complete. It's been hard to do it all at one time.
Wow! This sounds like so much fun! I would LOVE to do this. Soooo, I’ll have to go through my fabrics and see what I can find for this. I am nowhere close to a JoAnn’s store for fabric on sale, and truly, I have enough fabric to open my own store. I don’t know how to pick triatic colors, my color wheel doesn’t have spinners to show me. And, I’m not sure about having “enough” to make the back. Generally, when I buy fabric, I get two and sometimes three yards when they’re on sale. But, I’ll see what I can come up with. This will be FUN! Thanks so much for giving us a project like this. It’s wonderful!
Thanks Jodi! You can piece your fabric for the back of your quilt! I did that on the last one I made for my bed, and even though it's unconventional, I love how it came out! I just published the blog post that goes along with this project so see if that helps: pattymacmakes.com/power-of-3-row-quilt/
Thank you Patty. I went on your Amazon link and got a color wheel, a 2 1/2” x 24” grid ruler, and some more blades for my rotary cutter. When I was cutting fabric today (I’m making a quilt for my granddaughter), I thought I needed to change blades, and discovered I’ve used them all up. Anyway, it will all be here next Friday. But I’ll be ready when you’re ready to start! See you then. 😊By the way, I just love the necklace I ordered from your sight last year!
Thank you!! It's got a couple little challenge items here and there, but not enough to become frustrating. I would love if you worked on this with us!!
Looks like a fun project, Patty!! ( I’ll try to “keep up”…) Thanks for planning it: I agree with needing a simple (?) project as an antidote to all of what’s going on in the world… 😃🙏🌻
I am so excited to participate in the quilt along. It's been quite a while since I've done anything like this. I need to brush up on my hst's. Until your next video, keep well and keep smiling.
Sounds like fun! Im working on some block of the weeks that are just about done as well as several block of the months but i am hoping to stay caught up! Thanks for doing this!
I will post the instructions as we go on my blog and will link over. When it's done, I want to have a printable pattern for the project available, but as we go along the details will be on my website. It starts here pattymacmakes.com/power-of-3-row-quilt/
Hi Linda! I have this video on quilt binding you might want to review. ua-cam.com/video/WGhEid3KyXU/v-deo.html. I think it's the hardest part of the project, to be honest. I have a tip for making it somewhat easier I'll share when we get to it in this project, but if you wanted to practice some in the meantime, check out the video I linked to.
Hi patty! O.M.G. so many amazing projects and so little time! I will be watching for sure. I will be purchasing your pattern on etsy! BTW i had no clue you had an etsy shop!? How did i miss that? Can you please give the link? Take care!
Thank you Annette. I don't talk about my little shop because it's all knitting patterns right now and some yarn I sell from my stash yarns. Now I want to start adding quilt blocks and full patterns beginning with this project.
Dazzling is the right word for this sawtooth star panel. Every stitch of your work is always flawless.
You are far too kind my friend!! But as a Leo, I do love a little extra flattery. LOL
Thanks for offering this project for us. We can get through the challenges together.
You're welcome!! I agree! It came out so pretty and I'm hoping to get photos of it this week finally!
I bought my fabrics! Yeah!
I'm so excited to hear this Phyllis!! The first block is live!!
Amen sister! No one has time for drama. I have a stressful job as a hospital lab tech and once I clock out...no drama for me! Not sure I can participate but I can stand on the sidelines, cheering you on and oohing and aahing over everyone's work. Looking forward to it.
Thanks Cheri!!
Love the blocks! this would also make wonderful table runners.
YES!!! My thought was that you could make just one of each and have a beautiful table runner in the end.

Thanks Roxie!! I'm working on getting the blog post out now. I thought I had until Saturday before this video published. Whoops.

Thank you so much Faith!! Red, yellow and blue with a bright white works so well! You can definitely use prints with those predominant colors as well.

Thank you!! It's got a couple little challenge items here and there, but not enough to become frustrating. I would love if you worked on this with us!!
This is a challenge for sure.
If you take it one row, one week at a time, it's a lot more manageable!
Looks like a fun project, Patty!! ( I’ll try to “keep up”…) Thanks for planning it: I agree with needing a simple (?) project as an antidote to all of what’s going on in the world… 😃🙏🌻
I loved making this quilt top! It came together so pretty, and I'm excited to get it finished and share it with you all!

Thank you Merry! I hope you can participate!
Nice project! You’re so organized. If I didn’t have 3 quilts going at the same time I’d so do this with you. Either way, I’ll be watching 😉
Thank you Sheri!! I could not keep it straight doing 3 quilt at one time!
Love the step-by-step process so we can move along with you, but also can catch up if need be. Thanks, Patty! From Cheryl in AZ
Thank you Cheryl!! A row a week is a good way to keep going without having it completely take over your life.
Sounds like fun! Im working on some block of the weeks that are just about done as well as several block of the months but i am hoping to stay caught up! Thanks for doing this!
Thank you Lyn!! I hope you can join in!

Take care!
Never mind! I found the etsy link! Sorry
Thank you Annette. I don't talk about my little shop because it's all knitting patterns right now and some yarn I sell from my stash yarns. Now I want to start adding quilt blocks and full patterns beginning with this project.
When will this be happening? Thank you.
I'll publish the first block on Saturday and then do some checkins with you next week to get you started.
