Deep inside most Indians is an inferiority complex or difference anxiety, i.e. a tendency to cover differences from the dominant western culture. Long years of colonization has colonized our minds, which couldn't be freed with political independence of the nation. We have been able to conserve only a fraction of our grand heritage. We hear talks about universalism but we hardly realize that intentionally or unintentionally, it is the western universalism that is being propagated. This western universalism is inherently biased in favour of the west and though it may bring some content from other cultures, it generally maps it to their views. Shri Rajivji explains many great aspects of our dharma traditions and makes us comfortable with and proud of our identity which is different from that of the west.

He has to use 'western' language because we are living in western hegemony and that's the only language the world understand at this point of time. He is not saying Christianity is bad or inferior but Hinduism deserves equal respect.
If you are actually Indian as you are claiming to be, try developing some self confidence about yourself and where you come from.

It is not about somebody standing upto someone. It is about being different. Rajeev Malhotra is different like anybody else. True Rajiv Malhotra is not at all ambassador for Hinduism but of Dharmic Traditions. So no need to create difference anxiety :)

no, it's not vipaasana, it's vipashyanaa. This becomes vipassanaa in pali, so "vipasna" is right.
