I don’t know what he answered. But if it’s the question about dependents being in Nigeria, then it should be yes because those are the people that will pick it up right? I am not sure if this can be done for F2, you can confirm from the official website: ng.usembassy.gov/u-s-nonimmigrant-visa-renewals-interview-waiver-eligibility-period-expanded-to-48-months/

Can you submit the renewal process 2 to 2 before the visa expires or you need to wait for it to expire?

You should be able to, as long as you have valid documentation for needing a new visa.

I think you should confirm from your international services in your school, the right way to go about F1 renewal while on OPT. I do not know the correct answer for people on OPT.

After expiration of the visa, is there a timeline that one must not exceed before renewal? I’m just curious you know.

Your visa should have expired less than 48 months ago.

Hello my passport expires in 8 months from when my drop off appointment is. Do I need to submit a new passport too?

For US visa, no. They will still give you the two years. However, if you were getting Canadian visa, it will be advised to submit a new passport because they usually give you visa till your passport expiry date.

You can always do that. The main advantage of this process is you do not have to travel. But if you want to travel, sure you can.
